SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Thangool 17 July 2021 – Race 4.
Trainer C. Russell was fined $200 under the provision of LR68 for the late scratching of ROUND THE FIRE.


Race 1: Carlton & United Breweries QTIS Two-Years-Old and Three-Years-Old Maid 1300 metres

The start of this race was delayed 4 mins owing to MAX’N’MAT and REFUTATION being difficult to load.

IRRUPT – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

RIVER DAISY – Jumped away awkwardly. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

CRAIGLEA BANDIT – Hampered on jumping away.

MAX'N'MAT – Trainer was advised that the gelding would be warned in relation to being difficult to load. Hampered on jumping away.

REFUTATION – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

ROCK READY – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

MAHKOTA ROSE – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start.

ROMANTIQUE – Hampered on jumping away. Passing the 300m became awkwardly placed on heels and had difficulty obtaining clear running for a number of strides.

Race 2: Great Northern Original BM65 Handicap 1600 metres

INDERNILE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

SCHAPPOSE (NZ) – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight.

BROMES – Overraced in the early and middle stages. Approaching the 100m had to be restrained to avoid the heels of SCHAPPOSE (NZ) which rolled out marginally and WHYKAYOH, which ran in and away from INDERNILE. Apprentice A. Patis, rider of SCHAPPSE (NZ), was reminded of her obligations to stop and straighten her mounts when they shift ground in future.

WHYKAYOH – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early and middle stages.

HIDDEN GODDESS – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

ANGOLA MISS – Raced wide throughout the event.

Race 3: Great Northern Crisp Class 6 Handicap 1300 metres

GYPSY BIKER – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 150m had to take hold to avoid the heels of CAVELLTON which shifted out when insufficiently clear. Jockey M. McGillivray, rider of CAVELLTON, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding in that he allowed his mount to shift ground when not clear. Jockey McGillivray license to ride in races was suspended for 9 days to commence midnight 29 July 2021 to midnight 7 August 2021.

CAVELLTON – Slow to begin.

COACH – Late scratching at 9.44am due to transport difficulties.

Race 4: The Real Group appreciation Maiden Handicap 1050 metres

CROESUS – Raced in restricted room for a number of strides passing the 200m.

ISIS TURBO – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

SUPER ROOSTER – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

ROSLIN – Raced green when placed under pressure in the straight.

SETHLANS – Late scratching at 9.44am due to transport difficulties.

ROUND THE FIRE – Jumped away awkwardly. and shifted in abruptly.

CHATILLY – Laid out in the early stages of the event.

LADY CECILIA –Clipped heels shortly after jumping and was severely hampered.

ZOFFDACHARTS -Late scratching at 7.45am due to no available rider.

Race 5: Pavscorp appreciation Class 3 Plate 1050 metres

PITCHFORK – A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

GETOUT OF MY NEIGH (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly.

LOUIE THE LEGEND – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

DAWLISH – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare had bled from both nostrils on the second occasion and has now been banned for life.

MIGHTY MEERKAT – Slow to begin.

WOODLEY'S GOLD – Jumped away awkwardly.

OUR STORMY GIRL – Trainer Mr P Fleming was fined $100 for the late declaration of Jockey C. Eaton.

Following the running of this race Jockey L. Tilley was examined by Queensland Ambulance Officers and was passed fit to fulfil his remaining engagements.

Race 6: Book your Christmas Party BM58 Handicap 1200 metres

The start of this race was delayed owing to the barriers being required to shift after being set at the 1100m. Following the barriers being repositioned at the 1200m, DR NEIGH became fractious, dislodged its rider and galloped a significant distance. DR NEIGH was declared a late scratching at 4.53pm.
