GENERAL
 
As Jockey S. Fawke was unable to attend due to transport difficulties, replacements were made as per the stewards’ race day summary.
 
Race 1: IGT QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
Art By Concorde – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after jumping. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the straight.
 
Better Ask Roy – Approaching the 200m had to be restrained and shift out abruptly to avoid the heels of ART BY CONCORDE which shifted out under riding when insufficiently clear. Jockey M. McGillivray, rider of ART BY CONCORDE, plead guilty to a charge of careless riding under the provision of AR131(a). Jockey McGillivray had his licence to ride in races suspended for a  8 days to commence midnight 9 September 2021 and to expire midnight 17 September 2021.
 
Moonscape – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Tell the World – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Motored – Raced wide throughout the event.
 
Bold Storm – Jumped away awkwardly and was hampered on jumping.
 
Craiglea Bandit – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Craiglea Diva – Momentarily inconvenienced entering the home straight.
 
Race 2: GREAT NORTHERN BREWING CO. Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
Carlton – Stewards permitted the late removal of pacifiers from BOSS BABY after trainer P. Fleming was unable to source pacifier/blinkers on course. Trainer P Fleming was fined $100 under the provision of AR206(6). Jumped away awkwardly. Rider reported that his mount felt awkward in its action on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Croesus – Laid out when placed under pressure in the straight. Jockey C Whiteley reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Girl On Top – Slow to begin.
 
Race 3:THE INTRUST SUPER BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1050 metres
 
Boss Baby –Slow to begin. Shifted in abruptly approaching 900m becoming awkwardly placed on heels for a number of strides. Laid out rounding the home turn and became awkwardly placed on the heels of CHILL THE BEER. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Walshie – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Bold Hunter – Slow to begin. Approaching the 100m had to take evasive action to avoid a large piece of debris which was carried onto the track by the wind.
 
 
Race 4: 4 TAB QUEENSLAND HOTELIERS Class 3 Plate 1400 metres
 
Rocky Poet – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Attempted to shift out around the heels of FIRE IN THE HOLE passing the 500m but was disappointed for the run after FIRE IN THE HOLE rolled out marginally. Momentarily inconvenienced passing the 200m after attempting a run between FIRE IN THE HOLE and KAAYDEH, which shifted in under pressure.
 
Fire in the Hole – As Jockey R Wiggins was unable to make the allocated weight, stewards permitted Jockey B. El’Issa to ride FIRE IN THE HOLE. Jockey R Wiggins was fined $200 under the provision of AR190(3). Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Russian Missile – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 5: CHARLIES PEST CONTROL Class 1 Handicap 1100 metres
 
God Of Mischief – when questioned in relation to the performance of the gelding Jockey J Baker stated that his mount failed to respond to his riding when placed under pressure in the home straight and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
The Graduate – Held up for clear running passing the 400m and had to shift out to improve. Rider T Chambers was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m, three more than permitted. In determining penalty stewards took into account that this was Jockey T. Chambers second breach in the past twelve months.
 
Deep Breath – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
Chester's Angel – Hung out throughout the event.
 
Navarre – Shifted in on jumping away.
 
Race 6: ARISTOCRAT RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap 1500 metres
 
Bold Pedro – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight. Rider reported that his mount felt awkward in its action on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Tabman – Overraced in the early and middle stages.
 
Destination Rocks – Hampered on jumping away.
 
Duble Gaze – Raced in Pre-Race ear muffs after the piece of gear was not removed from DUBLE GAZE after being loaded into the barriers. Slow to begin.
 
Poetic Pete – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in abruptly.
 
Following the running of this event, stewards interviewed the starter in relation to the pre-race earmuffs failing to be removed from DUBLE GAZE. It was ascertained that prior to the start being affected, the rider of DUBLE GAZE requested a tail on the mare after DUBLE GAZE commenced to become fractious and during the process of applying the tail, the pre-race ear muffs were left on the mare. Starter T. Williams stated that he would put further measures in place to rectify any future incidents.
 
Race 7: XXXX OPEN Handicap  1400 metres
 
Poetic Heart – When questioned regarding the performance of the gelding, Jockey C Whiteley could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. Trainer stated that he would report back on the condition of the gelding in the days subsequent. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
 
Cavalero – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Stewards intend to question apprentice A. Ross in relation to her whip use in the straight.
 
Bogey Man – Held up for clear running on entering the home straight.
