GENERAL

Due to the circumstances of STUCHBREE STAMP being treated and subsequently euthanised on humane grounds, the start of race 7 was re-scheduled to start at 4.57pm, with race eight re-scheduled to 5.32pm.

Race 1: RUM CITY FOODS QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1200 metres

JACK BE LUCKY – Bumped by TYCOON FURY near the 400m and was carried wider.

MR TANGLES – Tightened near 1100m. Shifted in near the 900m contacting SANKELISKAR, which was taken in onto APRIL LOVE, which was in turn tightened.

TYCOON FURY – As Jockey B. Stewart was overweight he was subsequently replaced by as per the stewards summary. Jockey Steward was subsequently reprimanded under AR190(3). Raced keenly around the 900m. Held up for a clear run early in the home straight. Near the 400m shifted outwards contacting MR TANGLES and became momentarily unbalanced.

APRIL LOVE – Began awkwardly contacting TYCOON FURY, which was tightened and lost ground. Steadied off heels near the 900m. Raced ungenerously near the 700m.

MOTORED – Tightened and checked near 1100m.

OMBRE VOLANTE – Shifted out near the 900m forcing JACK BE LUCKY wider.

SANKELISKAR – Began awkwardly contacting OMBRE VOLANTE. Placed in restricted room, checked and lost ground near the 1100m when OMBRE VOLANTE and MR TANGLES were taken in by JACK BE LUCKY. Apprentice D. McGillivray pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that a point leaving the 1100m he permitted his mount to shift in resulting in OMBRE VOLANTE and MR TANGLES being taken inwards resulting in SANKELISKER being tightened for room, checked and lost ground. Apprentice D. McGillivray’s license to ride in race was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence midnight 14/4/2022 and to conclude midnight 25/4/2022. Apprentice D. McGillivray was advised of his appeal rights.

MAYHEM GIRL – Near the 900m restrained off heels and lost ground when OMBRE VOLANTE shifted inwards.

Race 2: TAB OPEN Handicap 1500 metres

FACTORY WARRIOR – Raced keenly during the early and middle stages. Raced 3 wide without cover for some distance leaving the 900m.

Race 3: FLEXICOMMERCIAL QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres


ROCKMYDOLLER – Jumped with head in the air losing ground.

ALEACO – Began awkwardly.

CASHWAY – Became fractious in the float when enroute to the course. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently cleared to start.

MIA'S DREAM – Raced greenly throughout. Commenced to weaken from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have likely choked down. Trainer J. Wigginton advised that gear changes would be made to rectify the issue prior to the filly’s next start.

BRIGHT AND READY – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight carrying D’ORO CHOICE wider.

DEVIL KICK – Bumped with SOPHIA’S READY on jumping.

SAND AND OCEAN – Began awkwardly.

SOPHIA'S READY – Bumped with DEVIL KICK on jumping.

Race 4: SCOTPAC Maiden Handicap 1400 metres

ANOTHER TOSSER – Commenced to weaken from the 400m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Jockey Justin Stanley reported that after racing keenly during the initial stages the gelding then settled well. He further added that his mount travelled well during the run, however proved to be very disappointing over the final 300m when placed under pressure. Stewards noted Jockey Stanley’s explanation.

FRESH PRINCE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

EXALTED - Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

MISSY'S READY – Began Awkwardly.

RADIANT ROMANCE – Raced 3 wide without cover throughout.

Race 5: TAKALVANS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1050 metres

The declaration of correct weight was delayed following Jockey T. Chambers (the rider of THE GRADUTE) returning to scale one kilogram underweight. After taking evidence from Jockey Chambers, THE GRADUATE was disqualified by stewards under the provisions of AR209(2)(a). Stewards subsequently amended the placings accordingly and declare correct weight. As a result of incident Jockey Chambers was fined $800 under the provisions of AR209(2)(b).

YULONG SOVEREIGN – Laid in throughout.

LAURIE – Began awkwardly.

THE GRADUATE – Hung out throughout. Jockey T. Chambers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her use of the whip 6 times prior to the 100m.

SANTORINI SUMMER – Laid in throughout.

WHOA LOLA – Began awkwardly losing ground.

Race 6: GREAT NORTHERN Class 2 Handicap 1400 metres

QUALITY ASSET – Raced keenly during early stages.

BOOMBRASSTIC – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover from 900m.

STUCHBREE STAMP – Began awkwardly. Raced three wide before obtaining position outside the leader near the 700m. Post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had likely suffered a cardiac arrest and as a result was humanely euthanised. Swab samples were taken from the gelding.

MOONSHINER – Made contact with the enclosure fence when parading. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was subsequently cleared to start.

DELANEY’S GIRL – Slow into stride.

AUSSIE TYCOON – Slow to begin.

Race 7: HYGAIN 2022 COUNTRY CUP BENCHMARK 65 Handicap1600 metres

TRUMP ME – Apprentice J. Molloy was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip six times prior to 100m.

OAKFIELD TARGET – Began awkwardly.

DARK ARCHER – Tightened after the start. Raced 3 wide with cover early before settling on the pace.

GEOFFROY – Began awkwardly. Raced 3 wide without cover early.

SPLASHING ROSSA - Began awkwardly, tightening DARK ARCHER.

Race 8: HYGAIN MITAVITE CYS - 11AM SUNDAY 10 APRIL RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1200 metres.

MR STORM (NZ) – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Trainer attributed improved performance to a drop in grade by comparison to recent starts. Further advised he expected a forward showing performance given the last start performance against better graded horses. Stewards noted the explanation.

SIR MAGIC - Held up for a clear run rounding home turn.

TIM’S LANE – Held up until approaching the 300m.

HABIB – Shifted out to obtain a clear run at the 300m.

MUSTAFA – Trainer queried regarding improved performance. Stated, first start for stable, trialled well recently and graded against moderate company.

WINE TALKS – Began awkwardly contacting MUSTAFA. Raced 3 wide with cover throughout. Jockey explained being caught wide throughout impacted overall performance.

INTIMIDATING – 3 wide without cover throughout.

LINGJUN TOPGUN – Slow to begin.

URALBA – Began awkwardly contacting STARGIRL.
