The following weight alterations were authorised by Stewards;
Race 2: LE FIGARO – J Stanley - +1kg – 55kg
Race 5: PAY LESS – R Wiggins - +.5kg – 56.5kg
Race 7: LIVERPOOL GAL – T Brooker - +1kg – 55kg
Race 9: POETIC FINAL SAY – T Brooker - +1kg – 55kg
 
Jockey R McMahon did not attend today’s meeting due to transport difficulties and was replaced on his mounts as per the summary.
 
 
Race 1: TAB QTIS Two-Year-Old Handicap 1200 metres
 
GLEN ISLA MILER –Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced through the early and middle stages.
 
BRIGHT AND READY –Jumped awkwardly. Commenced to shift out under pressure from the 300m.
 
 
HEROIC ANGEL – Inclined to lay out throughout. Jockey J Stanley reported he was struck in the face when the filly became fractious prior to the start. Jockey Stanley was assessed by the Queensland Ambulance Service and passed fit to fulfill the remainder of his engagements.
 
CORIANDER –Was fractious prior to entering the mounting yard and was subject of a pre-race veterinary examination. The filly was subsequently declared a late scratching at 11.09am on veterinary advice. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in CORIANDER be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
7 cents in the dollar for the win - #1
7 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #1
 
 
 
Race 2: GIRLS GRAMMAR ROCKHAMPTON RACEDAY 18 JUNE Class 6 Plate 1050 metres
 
AVOCADO SUNSET – Made the bend awkwardly and shifted outwards near the 800m. Lay inwards over the final stages.
 
CAVELLTON – As jockey L. Tilley was overweight he was subsequently replaced by Jockey J. Taylor. Jockey Tilley was fined $300 under AR190(3).
 
SYD'S FOOTPRINTS – Raced wide through the early stages. Forced wider when
AVOCADO SUNSET made the bend awkwardly near the 800m. Laid outwards over the final stages.
 
LE FIGARO – Raced in restricted room approaching the 300m before obtaining clear racing room. Laid outwards over the concluding stages.
 
 
Race 3: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
The start was delayed when CRAIGLEA LAKI proved difficult to load. Trainer K Johnstone was advised a warning was placed on the filly.
 
HELLFIRE BILLY – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
REDVEDEV (NZ) – Shifted out shortly after the start and as a result made contact with CRAIGLEA AGENA. Momentarily held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
 
WHAKAMIHARO – Slow to begin. Commenced to weaken from the 500m taking further competitive part in the race. When questioned regarding the below market expected performance jockey R Wiggins reported after beginning poorly, he was forced to take a rearward position. He further added after travelling well through the middle stages his mount failed to respond to his riding thereafter and in his opinion proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
ALEACO – Raced wide for the majority.
 
CRAIGLEA AGENA – Bumped and forced wider shortly after the start and as a result had to be steadied after becoming awkwardly placed on heels. Near the 500m shifted out to obtain clear running.
 
DIVINE PURPOSE – Raced greenly in the home straight.
 
VALTINO – Jumped awkwardly bumping HIREFIRE BILLY. Raced keenly over the early stages. Improved onto heels upon entering the home straight and had to be steadied. Laid inwards in the home straight.
 
 
Race 4: WINTER RACING CARNIVAL 2022 Class 3 Plate 1200 metres
 
BLUINDI – Laid inwards in the home straight.
 
SANTORINI SUMMER – Jumped away awkwardly. Inclined to lay out throughout.
 
YULONG SOVEREIGN – Bumped by KASINOVA KID at the jump.
 
KASINOVA KID – Bumped and forced wider by SETHLANS on jumping and as a result made contact with YULONG SOVEREIGN. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SETHLANS – Shifted outwards at the start bumping KASINOVA KID and lost ground. Approaching the 900m momentarily steadied off heels. Laid out when rounding the home turn.  
 
 
Race 5: NEWMARKET RACEDAY FRIDAY 8 JULY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1300 metres
 
SINGLE MALT – Laid inwards in the home straight.
 
IN CLOSE REACH – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Jumped awkwardly and was bumped on jumping by SHALUNA. Raced wide throughout.
 
MACSHAMUS – Slow to begin.
 
TWISTED WHISKEY – Began awkwardly.
 
SHALUNA – Fractious prior to the start. Tightened for room upon jumping. Stewards questioned jockey J Stanley regarding the vigour he showed when riding out SHALUNA over the final stages. Mr Stanley advised he was travelling well up to the final 400m and in his opinion showed little while being placed under pressure from that point on. He acknowledged he did not place the filly under undue pressure over the concluding stages as it had begun to tire. He was unable to offer any explanation for the disappointing performance. Mr Stanley’s comments were noted. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  
 
LUCKY BEAN – Laid inwards in the home straight.
 
PAY LESS – Jumped awkwardly and shifted inwards at the start contacting SHALUNA.
 
MISSY'S READY – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 6: ROCKHAMPTON CUP SATURDAY 9 JULY Maiden Handicap 1050 metres
 
There was a significant delay to the start of this race whenGALAXY UNKNOWN escaped riderless underneath the barriers prior to the start and galloped riderless for a considerable distance. GALAXY UNKNOWN was subsequently declared a late scratching at 2.16pm by order of Stewards. Stewards ordered that all monies invested in GALAXY UNKOWN be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
0 cents in the dollar for the win - #2
0 cents in the dollar for the place of winner - #2
2 cents in the dollar for 2nd placegetter – #11
2 cents in the dollar for 3rd placegetter - #7
 
Trainer R Shannon was advised the gelding was stood down for a satisfactory barrier trial prior to returning to racing.
 
MISS DE BOOM – Began awkwardly and lost ground.  Raced keen over the early and middle stages.
 
FEAT OF FURY – Proved difficult to load. Slow to begin. Had to be steadied nearing the 900m when MOONSCAPE (M Wishart) shifted inwards. Apprentice M Wishart was issued with a reprimand for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a)
 
MOONSCAPE – Raced ungenerously throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight and proved difficult to ride out.
 
SHE'S OUT THERE – Raced wide throughout. Jockey M Hellyer advised the filly raced greenly in the home straight.
 
CRAIGLEA CLIO – Laid outwards in the home straight.
 
GYPSY ROZAY – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
 
Race 7: TATTERSALLS CUP SUNDAY 26 JUNE Class 1 Handicap1050 metres
 
DIRTY DIARY  - Raced wide throughout.
 
HINVICTUS – Shifted in shortly after the start placing runners to its inside in restricted room.
 
FIGHT IN THE DOG – Slow to begin. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
KINKY DREAMS – Placed in restricted room shortly after the start. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey J Stanley advised he felt KINKY DREAMS raced on the fresh side today and would benefit from the run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to detect any abnormalities.
 
TOY WHITTY – Began awkwardly and shifted out tightening a runner to its outside. Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight before shifting outwards for clear running near the 500m.
 
LIVERPOOL GAL – Laid inwards in the home straight.
 
CLUSTERFEST – Momentarily placed in restricted room shortly after the start.
 
MOONLIT ROSE – Began awkwardly making contact with the outside barrier partition. Crowded for room shorty after the start and as a result lost ground.
 
 
Race 8: LIKE US ON FACEBOOK BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MATADOR – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room early stages of the home straight.  
 
STARHATTAN – Held up for clear racing room for the majority of the home straight.
 
FREE DAWN – Rider J Stanley advised his mount laid outwards over the final 400m.
 
ORNATE – Raced keenly whilst being restrained in the early stages and continued to race keenly during the middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room until passing the 300m.
 
ADDRESS UNKNOWN – Was declared a late scratching at 2.36pm on veterinary advice. The connections were advised the filly would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming racing. 
 
STARGIRL – Raced wide throughout.

MANIFICA – Bumped heavily on jumping. Raced wide with cover throughout. Jockey T. Chambers was suspended under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 27/5/2022 and to conclude midnight 3/6/2022 for using her whip 10 times prior to the 100m.
 
TOY BLAZE – Begun awkwardly making contact with MANIFICA.
 
ALLARES – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
CHESTO'S DREAM – Near the 900m improved onto heels and had to steady. Laid inwards in the home straight.
 
 
Race 9: NEW CATERERS A DAYS GRAZING CATERING BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1400 metres
 
SPIRIT ESPRIT – Slow to muster early speed.
 
EMMA'S JET – Slow to begin.
 
GEOFFROY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
KOTABHARU – Was placed in restricted room and lost ground when STUBAI shifted in and away from GEOFFROY near the 900m.
 
OUR RED PLANET – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced greenly in the home straight. M Wishart was fined $200 for using her whip on eight occasions prior to the 100m three more than permitted pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
POETIC FINAL SAY – T Brooker was issued with a reprimand for the use of her whip prior to the 100m under AR132(7)(a)(ii).
 
 
Race 10: WWW.CALLAGHANPARK.COM.AU BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1500 metres
 
POLICE (NZ) – Raced wide with cover for the majority. Near the 500m momentarily raced in restricted room when TONTEIN shifted out to obtain clear running.  
 
TONTEIN – Raced keenly early stages.
 
MENSCHKEIT – Slow to begin. Held up for racing room approaching the 400m.
 
MARTO – Raced wide with cover throughout. Shifted off heels near the 300m to obtain clear racing room.
 
EXALTED – Began awkwardly losing considerable ground. Jockey T Chambers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on six occasions prior to the 100m one more than permitted.
 
TRICKY BEANS – Shifted outwards on jumping.
 
ANGOLA MISS – Slow to begin.
 
GRAND PALAZZO (NZ) – Laid inwards near the 500m.
