GENERAL
Due to the cancellation of Kilcoy the following amendments were made to race times; Race 1, 1.45pm, Race 2, 2.25pm, Race 3, 3.05pm, Race 4, 3.40pm, Race 5, 4.15pm, Race 6, 4.50pm, Race 7, 5.25pm.
Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
After the running of race 4 Jockey Ashley Butler was examined by the on-course ambulance officers and declared unfit to fulfill his remaining engagements. Mr Butler must present a medical clearance prior to resuming riding in races or trials.
 
Race 1: KENNAS CLUB 150 RACEDAY CELEBRATING KFS 35TH
ANNIVERSARY Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
PLAYFUL PASSION – Began awkwardly. Jockey Wendy Peel was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 7 occasions prior to the 100m, 2 more than permitted.
 
I AM THAT I AM - Jockey Les Tilley was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
SUPER ROOSTER – Stood flat footed at the start losing considerable ground and a warning was issued. Raced erratically during the early stages and shifted out abruptly near the 100m, checking MALTED MISSILE. Connections were advised that a warning has been placed against the racing manners of the gelding.
 
MALTED MISSILE – Slow into stride. Checked near the 1100m. Inclined to lay in and race greenly under pressure in the home straight.
 
Race 2: 3YO OF THE YEAR - AHOOSHU OPEN Handicap 1100 metres
 
JAY JAY – Slow to begin.
 
TRU BLU TANGO – Jumped awkwardly and bumped SWAN ISLAND after the start. Jockey Les Tilley explained that after beginning awkwardly the gelding did not travel as well as expected and in his view may have resented the tongue tie. Trainer Ricky Vale advised that he would likely make a gear alteration to remove the tongue tie for TRU BLU TANGO’S next start.
 
SWAN ISLAND – Bumped at the start. Olivia Kendal was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
Race 3: HORSE OF THE YEAR - MOCIAL CHIEF BENCHMARK 65
Handicap 1600 metres
 
THE SNOOPERSTAR – Faction slow to begin.
 
MAIN DE FOI – Jockey Nathan Day explained that the mare failed to travel well throughout and may have been suffering from the heat. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
TRICOLOGY (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room for a short distance approaching the 150m.
 
RUFFIN' IT (NZ) - Olivia Kendal was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
CHAMPAGNE AT DAWN – Declared a late scratching at 12.02pm after Trainer Zoe Hohn expressed concerns that the mare pulled up at her most recent start displaying a slow recovery and was lethargic in the days subsequent, and with today’s temperature expected to reach 34 degrees with high humidity she held concerns for the welfare of her runner. Ms Hohn was advised that if the mare was engaged to race where the forecast temperature was to exceed 30 degrees CHAMPAGNE AT DAWN would not be permitted to start. The trainer advised that it was now her intention to spell the mare.
 
Race 4: THE GARY PANCHO CRON MEMORIAL QTIS Three-Year-Old
Handicap 1200 metres
 
TOUR DE DREAM – Slow to begin and checked soon after the start. Held up for a clear run until leaving the 350m and buffeted with CRAIGLEA ETNA. Jockey Tasha Chambers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
CRAIGLEA ETNA – Buffered near the 350m.
 
STEP THIS WAY - Began awkwardly.

VALTINO – Slow to begin.
 
CRAIGLEA LAKI – Jumped outwards at the start checking TOUR DE DREAM.
 
Race 5: GREAT NORTHERN Class 3 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start of this race was re-scheduled to start at 4.36pm due to the ambulance officers attending to Ashley Butler who fell ill after the previous race.
 
DEFERENCE – Bumped at the start.
 
SABOR – Ryan Wiggins was the approved replacement rider for Ashley Butler (ill). Slow into stride. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ENUFF HE SAID – Was obliged to switch wider leaving the 400m to obtain clear running.
 
THE GRADUATE – Began awkwardly bumping with DEFERENCE.
 
WIT – Jumped outwards at the start. Raced ungenerously near the 800m for a short distance. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SHARINDI – Slow to begin.
 
FARMER'S FRIEND – Slow to begin.
 
Race 6: TAB RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1050 metres
 
ASTRAL ODYSSEY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after kicking a rail in the tie up stalls and was subsequently cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
BOOM TIME BABY – Slow to begin. Jockey Chris Whiteley reported that soon after the start the saddle slipped back and as a result his mount attempted to buck and lost considerable ground.
 
RUTTO – Began awkwardly.
 
JUST VERA - Jockey Wendy Peel was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 6 occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
 
CRAIGLEA AGENA – Slow to begin.
