The following weight alterations were authorised by Stewards.
Race 1: R Wiggins – HOLLYWOOD ANGEL - + 1kg – 56.5kg

Race 7: M Murphy – SAW THAT COMING - + 1kg – 55kg
 
Stewards permitted Apprentice K Quilty to ride at today’s meeting pursuant to AR110(2)(a) & (b).
 
Race 1: GREAT NORTHERN QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1100 metres
 
BOLD COMIC – The saddle slipped shortly after start placing rider M. Philpot at a disadvantage for the remainder of the race. Forced wider on the bend passing 800m when ALL POWERED UP hung out around the bend.
 
ALL POWERED UP – Hung outwards on the bend passing 800m.
 
WINNING REFLECTION – Connections advised a change of tactics that the filly would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. Slow to begin. Lay inwards when placed under pressure passing 600m. Jockey J. Murphy was fined $500 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip six times prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
 
Race 2: TAB Class 3 Handicap 1050 metres
 
I LOVE THIS HIPPY – Slow to begin.
 
FUTURE IDEA (NZ) – Began awkwardly as a result was slow to begin.
 
Race 3: IN MEMORY OF TRISH ROWE LOVING WIFE TO TRAINER LYLE ROWE OPEN Handicap 1500 metres
 
BARACHIEL – Raced keenly in the early stages. Stewards questioned trainer J. O’Shea in regard to the tactics today when BARACHIEL raced on the speed which is different to its usual racing pattern. Mr O’Shea stated he was aware there was no speed in the race however he was surprised to see BARACHIEL race handy to the pace. When questioned rider J. Stanley advised that he hadn’t intended on settling on the speed but after jumping well and with BARACHIEL over racing in the early stages, no speed in the race he felt he was obliged to race handy.
 
BERING SEA – Lay inwards making contact with JETSKI passing the 200m.
 
JAY JAY – Slow to begin.
 
FORTIFIED (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
SPRING CREEK – Slow to begin. Held up through the early stages of the home straight.
 
JETSKI – Lay outwards making contact with BEARING SEA passing the 200m.
 
 
Race 4: REES R & SYDNEY JONES SOLICITORS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1400 metres
 
FIGHTING COMMANDO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages. Jockey A. Butler was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for his use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
POLICE (NZ) – Held up for clear running early in the home straight. Bumped with BOLD HALO on a number of occasions passing the 400m. When questioned regarding the performance Jockey R. Wiggins stated that the gelding was disappointing and could offer no explanation. A subsequent post-race veterinarian examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
BOLD HALO – Began Awkwardly. Bumped with POLICE on a number of occasions leaving the 400m.
 
BLONDE'S DAY OUT – Raced wide through the middle stages.
 
MONEY MUNCHER – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
 
Race 5: HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTY ENGEL Maiden Handicap 1200 metres
 
GILBERT'S GOLD – Difficult to load. Began awkwardly. Over raced and made the bend awkwardly approaching the 800m. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Raced greenly over final 300m.
 
APRIL LOVE – Raced wide throughout. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Shifted in abruptly to avoid heels over the concluding stages.
 
CAERUS (NZ) – Connections advised a change of tactics that the gelding would be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permitted. Was ridden according. Hung in and placed rider at a disadvantage in the home straight.
 
CHAIN OF FIRE – Began awkwardly. Attempted to buck for some distance shortly after the start and was retired from the race. The connections were advised the gelding was stood down to complete a satisfactory trial.
 
ROCK DREAMER (NZ) – Jumped outwards at the start tightening SUPER ROOSTER.
 
SENSATIONABULL – Reared prior to the start. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUPER ROOSTER – Slow to begin and tightened soon after the start.
 
 
Race 6: 10 DAYS TILL ARCHER BENCHMARK 55 Handicap 1600 metres
 
SMART RUBICK – Raced wide throughout. Jockey T. Chambers was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for her using her whip on seven occasions prior to the 100m two more than permitted.
 
RUFFIN' IT (NZ) – Scrambled at the start and made contact with the outside barrier partition and as a result was slow to begin.
 
TRI NATIONS – Resaddled prior to the running of race. Jumped inwards at the start tightening IKIGAI STAR. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
EMPIRE CLUB – Raced wide throughout.
 
IKIGAI STAR – Began awkwardly and slow to begin. Tightened shortly after the start. Laid outwards when placed under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinarian examination revealed the gelding to have lost a tooth.
 
HYPERION STAR (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. Over raced in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 7: HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRENT WILLIAMS BENCHMARK 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
HIGHGROUND – Began awkwardly and bumped with WAIT A MINUTE and as a result was slow to begin.
 
SANTORINI SUMMER – Tightened for room shortly after the start.
 
ORNATE – Had to be steadied shortly after the start. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
TRIPTONIC – Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
MATADOR – Fractious in the barriers. Slow to begin. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
 
WAIT A MINUTE – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin. Bumped by HIGHGROUND shortly after the start.
 
AIDENABET – Tightened for room shortly after start. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
ALEACO – Raced wide in the early stages.
 
STERNY BEAR – Began awkwardly as a result slow to begin. Tightened for room shortly after start. Jockey A. Butler (MOST IMPRESSIVE) was reprimanded under AR131(a) for allowing his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of STERNY BEAR. When considering penalty Stewards were mindful of the racing manners of STERNY BEAR which contributed to the incident. Over raced in the early stages. Had to be steadied off heels approaching the 1100m when there was an easing of the pace.
 
SAW THAT COMING – Began awkwardly and slow to begin.
