RACE 6 MILNE BROS RATINGS BAND 0-60 HANDICAP (1100M)
STREET GOD – Trainer J Wigginton advised that the gelding pull up relatively well subsequent to the race and it is the intention to assess the racing future of STREET GOD.
RACE 7 BENTLEYS 2025 THE FITZROY OPEN (1300M)
KATHY’S BEAU – Trainer C Taylor advised that the gelding pulled up well subsequent to the race and connection would continue with the current preparation.
TRACK TALES – Trainer R Vale reported that the mare was showing signs of being in season and he intended to progress with the preparation.
RACE 8 SHERRIN RENTALS 2025 THE ARCHER (1300M)
HELL – Trainer N Walsh advised that the gelding pulled up showing signs of a virus and would be sent for a freshen up.

RACE 8 RACING AGAIN SATURDAY 24TH MAY QTIS RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP (1300M)
HOTCHI – Trainer R Vale reported that the gelding has recovered well and it is intended to proceed with the current preparation.
GENERAL
As jockey J Huxtable (illness) was unable to attend today’s meeting, rider replacements were made as per the steward’s race day summary.
Stewards granted permission for the following overweights:

RACE 1: TAB QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
POWER OF KATIE – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.
SPITZBERG – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
INVISIBLE TARGET – Slow to begin.
KAI MONDO – Jumped away awkwardly.
YES I'M UGLY – Jumped away awkwardly. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 2: GREAT NORTHERN MAIDEN HANDICAP (1100 METRES)
DIAMOND BLADE – Over raced onto the heels of PURPOSELY near the 700m and had to be restrained. Was shifted wider near the 400m to obtain clear racing room.
VILLANDRY – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide before obtaining the lead near the 700m.
LONHANOVA - Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 200m.
POWERCHUTE - Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay out under pressure in the home straight. Jockey T Chambers advised that her mount was inclined to over race in the early and middle stages and refused to settle.
PURPOSELY – Raced wide early.
NEPTUNE LEGEND – Slow to begin.
HADMYTIME – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide with cover throughout.
RACE 3: ROCKY CUP CARNIVAL ON SALE NOW QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE (1400 METRES)
ALFA DUNDEE – Impeded soon after the start by SUNSHINE SALLY which jockey J Stanley becoming noticeably unbalanced for a short distance.
REMLAP KAVA – Jumped out at the start bumping SUNSHINE SALLY.
RUM RUMBLE – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
SET FOR LIFE – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages and hung out noticeably throughout. Jockey/Trainer T Chambers was advised that SET FOR LIFE would be stood down for two consecutive trials to the satisfaction of stewards before being permitted to race again. In determining the stand down, stewards considered that the gelding was stood down to trial for similar circumstances two starts prior.
BADLIFEDECISION – Over raced in the early and middle stages and was inclined to hang out. Hung out under pressure in the home straight and shifted ground near the 200m before being corrected by its rider. When questioned in relation to leading, which appears in contrast to the racing pattern of BADLIFEDECISION, apprentice B Johnson stated that she was instructed to ride positive to attempt to obtain a forward position and after beginning well she was able to gain the lead with relative ease and due to being unchallenged, maintained her position. Apprentice Johnson added that she was of the view that the filly failed to run out the distance of today’s event.
SUNSHINE SALLY – Bumped on jumping by REMLAP KAVA and was carried out onto ALPHA DUNDEE, which was impeded, resulting in the jockey becoming unbalanced.
RACE 4: JOIN AS A RJC GOLD CLUB MEMBER OPEN HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
Stewards inquired into the reasons for DIDDLEY SQUAT and DOUBTING EYE being presented wearing the incorrect numbers. Stewards were able to ascertain that due to an error in the weighing out procedure both riders for DIDDLEY SQUAT and DOUBTING EYE were originally advised of and obtained the incorrect saddle cloth numbers before being re-weighed. In assessing the extenuating circumstances stewards refrained from taking action against the respective trainers. The clerk of scales was advised to ensure that measures are adopted to gain consistency to prevent such errors occurring.
MEDIA EMPIRE –Held up for a clear run until a point leaving the 300m.
MOENAVE – Due to an overweight declaration of plus one kilogram being approved for originally declared rider Justin Huxtable, approved replacement rider Georgina Cartwright rode at that declared weight of 56.5 kilograms as per the QRIC Overweight Rider Directive.
SVINDAL – Underwent remedial farrier work behind the barriers. Bumped at the start by DOUBTING EYE. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Trainer I Prizeman was reminded of his obligations in relation to presenting horses with appropriately fitted and correctly affixed shoes.
DOUBTING EYE - Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with SVINDAL. Raced keenly in the early stages. Inclined to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.
RACE 5: WARNER BUILDING GROUP BM65 HANDICAP (1400 METRES)
CONNEWARRE - Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide early. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
DWINDLING SPIRIT - Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
CITY PLAYBOY – When questioned in relation to the disappointing performance of the gelding, jockey A Butler stated could offer no tangible explanation. Trainer N Walsh advised that he was unable to explain the performance and the racing future of the gelding would be re-assessed. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer N Walsh was fined $200 under the provisions of AR106(2) for presenting the gelding with blinkers, which were not listed on the horse’s gear and went undetected resulting in CITY PLAYBOY racing in that nominated gear.
ZOFFANY'S GAZE – Raced wide throughout.
TREASURER – Held up for clear running in the early part of the home straight.
ITZA MOTZA – Trainer S Kendrick was fined $200 under the provisions of LR67(1) for failing to declare jockey R Wiggins by the prescribed time. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 300m.
THE LAST SAGA – Raced keenly in the early stages. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight resulting in jockey R Wiggins having to stop riding and straighten his mount on a number of occasions.
AFFINITY FLYER – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with HUSSON’S REVENGE soon after the start.
HUSSON'S REVENGE – Bumped with AFFINITY FLYER soon after the start.
RACE 6: KENNAS CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS BM55 HANDICAP (1200 METRES)
LETS DANCE JANDY – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with KING ALE. Raced wide throughout. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
SANTORINI SUMMER - Jumped away awkwardly.
NORTHUMBRIA – Raced keenly in the middle stages.
DETERMINATION – Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Laid out when placed under pressure over the concluding stages.
QUARTERSHARE – Jumped away awkwardly. When questioned in relation to the performance jockey A Butler advised that he felt the step up in class along with the weight impost proved detrimental to the overall performance of the gelding.
BIG SHOOTER – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight and bumped with KING ALE near the 300m.
KING ALE – Bumped with LETS DANCE JANDY on jumping. Bumped with BIG SHOOTER near the 300m, when giving ground.
RACE 7: WADE HUNT IT BM58 HANDICAP (1600 METRES)
CRAIGLEA LA VIE – Jumped away awkwardly.
MONEY MAN – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Jockey W Satherley stated that after beginning well he was able to position outside the leader in the early stages, however his mount commenced to over race, so he elected to progress to the lead in an attempt to get MONEY MAN to settle. Jockey Satherley further added that MONEY MAN continued to over race in the middle stages and this proved detrimental to the gelding’s finishing efforts. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
BO BO BEWARE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
WHATJEUDOIN' – Was obliged to steady from the heels of CRAIGLEA LA VIE near 900m. Held up for clear racing room and raced in restricted room for a distance until a point near the 300m.
UNCLE BUD – Jumped inwards at the start and bumped with ENTERPRISE PHOENIX, which in turn bumped with MILAGRO. Raced wide with cover throughout. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
ENTERPRISE PHOENIX – Buffeted between UNCLE BUD and MILAGRO at the start. Near the 400m, had to momentarily steady when BO BO BEWARE shifted inwards briefly. Apprentice B Johnson (BO BO BEWARE) was remined of her obligations to ensure she does not permit her mounts to shift ground.
SADDLES – Hung in during the early stages when racing wide. Raced wide with cover throughout. Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
MILAGRO – Bumped by UNCLE BUD at the start.
