GENERAL
 
After a track inspection at 11am the track was upgraded to a Good 4.
 
Overweights permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 

RACE 1: THE RJC MELBOURNE CUP DAY CLASS 3 HANDICAP   1500 M
 
The start of this race was delayed to allow PHANTOM FLIGHT to be reshod behind the barriers.

DULCET (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 1200m had to be restrained off the heels of OUT OF LUCK when the tempo of the race eased.

OUT OF LUCK – Slow into stride and raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Jockey R Wiggins reported that the gelding travelled well for the majority of the race, however proved very dour over the final 400m when placed under significant pressure. Trainer C Taylor stated that he was disappointed in the gelding’s effort, and OUT OF LUCK’S racing future would be considered within his stable.

DARLING CLEMENTINE – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

PHANTOM FLIGHT – Lost a hind shoe in the mounting enclosure and was reshod behind the barrier. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin and raced keenly in the early stages.
 
PEAKING TOM – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.


RACE 2: RQ SUPPORTS SAFETY IN RACING - EVERY JOB, EVERY DAY QTIS 3-Y-O MAIDEN HANDICAP 1300 M        
 
BE BOB ALOOLA – Bumped shortly after the start with THE KOBAY TRAIN. Tightened and checked near the 1100m when THE KOBAY TRAIN was carried inwards by LOUIS AUGUSTE. Jockey R.S Olivera was found guilty of a charge under AR131(a) in that near the 1100m he allowed his mount shift inwards tightening THE KOBAY TRAIN in onto BE BOB ALOOLA, which was checked and lost ground. Jockey Silvera Olivera’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 10 days, with the suspension to commence midnight 4th of November 2025 and to conclude midnight the 14th of November 2025. When determining penalty, stewards took into account the QRIC Careless Riding Template, the riders recent record under the rule and his not guilty plea. Brushed by LOUIS AUGUSTE in the early part of the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed minor lacerations to the left hind.

FILLYDELPHIA MISS – Slow to begin.

CHANTILLY QUEEN – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

THE KOBAY TRAIN – Bumped shortly after the start with BE BOB ALOOLA.

PICNIC BLANKET – Raced wide in the early stages.

LOUIS AUGUSTE – Entering the home straight become briefly unbalanced and stepped inwards brushing with BE BOB ALOOLA and that runner then balked and become unbalanced.
 

RACE 3: ROCKHAMPTON BUSINESS MACHINES QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE     1050 M
 
The start of this race was delayed when BITTER SPIRIT became fractious in the barrier was removed to undergo a veterinary examination. The gelding was cleared to start. 

BITTER SPIRIT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Fractious and reared in the barriers. was removed to undergo a veterinarian examination and was cleared to start. Laid in and raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight. When queried, trainer C Taylor advised that the gelding will likely derive benefit from the race experience and would be much better suited in races of a further distance. Trainer C Taylor was advised that BITTER SPIRIT has a warning placed against it for its barrier manners.

BONEWOOD – Began awkwardly. Tightened and inconvenienced near the 900m. Made the home turn very awkwardly and despite the best efforts of jockey R Wiggins, shifted outwards and as a result CASCIA was placed in restricted room between that runner and MADAM MAGPIE and was checked as a result.
 
HEROIC TALENT – Began awkwardly.
 
CASCIA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Near the 900m laid in and tightened BONEWOOD. Rounding the home turn placed in restricted room when BONEWOOD shifted out and checked.

MADAM MAGPIE – Fractious in the barriers. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight. Apprentice T Orr pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR210(1), in that he failed to weigh in after the race and stewards imposed a fine of $300. Stewards also considered whether MADAM MAGPIE ought to be disqualified under AR210(2). When considering the circumstances and the satisfaction that stewards were able to obtain that the filly carried the correct weight, and there was no evidence of nefarious intent within the actions of apprentice T Orr, stewards allowed MADAM MAGPIE to retain its 6th place in the field. 


RACE 4: LINCON HIRE AND SALES RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP   1600 M

 
I SAY BOOM – Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden in a more positive manner if circumstances permitted. Slow to begin and then ridden aggressively to obtain the lead at the 1400m. Gave ground noticeably over the final 200m. Connections advised that they will no longer persist with I SAY BOOM as a racing proposition.

HOT SUMMER – Raced wide throughout. Jockey J Murphy reported that after being trapped wide in the early stages he contemplated restraining to a rearward position however he felt it would not be advantageous to restrain the distance required to race on the rails and then look to have to make up the lost ground over the latter stages.

GRUMPYWANTSATISSUE – Began awkwardly. Unable to obtain clear racing room until leaving the 400m.

ROY'S ROAD – Held up for clear racing room for a distance between the 350m to 250m.


RACE 5: BELROMA PARK PTY LTD BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP   1300 M


WOODSTOCK ROCK – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

OUTWITTED – Jockey W Satherley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) in which he used his whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m and 18 in total. Mr Satherley’s license to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of 7 days, to commence midnight 4th of November to conclude midnight 11th of November. Mr Satherley was advised to his right of appeal. Trainer T Cook advised that the gelding lost his right front shoe in the running, and it is his intention to send OUTWITTED for a spell.
 
DEMON DELIVERA – When questioned on the performance jockey J Murphy reported that the gelding may not have been suited by the firmer track conditions and may be better suited in races of a further distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness to the right front. Trainer K Sinclair was advised that the DEMON DELIVERA would require a veterinary clearance prior to trialing or racing again.
 
FIFTY FIVE MUSTANG – Stood flat footed and missed the start by approximately 10 lengths. Trainer M Barnham was advised that the gelding is stood down and must complete an official trial prior to its next start. 

OUTTA CONTROL – Slow to begin. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPELLMASTER (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.


RACE 6: CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS AT CALLAGHAN PARK BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP      1100 M

 
UNDERRATED – Began awkwardly and bumped with BULL DIMPLE RUM.

SNAZZY SNITZEL – Began awkwardly and commenced to over race in the early and middle stages. Jockey N Summers was reprimanded under AR132(5) in which she used her whip on 15 occasions in total.

GILBERT'S GOLD – Over raced in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay in on occasion when placed under pressure in the home straight.

MOMENT OF TRUTH – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after not having raced for an extended period of time and was cleared to start.

MAKING HISTORY – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
LOVE MY LOUIS – Began awkwardly and bumped with BULL DIMPLE RUM. Inclined to lay in over the final 300m.

BULL DIMPLE RUM – Buffeted between UNDERRATED and LOVE MY LOUIS at the start.
