SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Mackay 21st November 2025 – Race 4 VALE JOHN ‘GINGER” MANZELMANN MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200M
SHOOTINGOFFTHEHAND – Trainer Ricky Vale advised that SHOOTINGOFFTHEHAND displayed signs of a mild injection in the day’s subsequent and was confirmed after blood tests were conducted. Trainer Vale further advised that the gelding has since been treated for the injection and that it would be his intention to continue its current preparation.
 
 
GENERAL

Due to the forecast conditions, provisions of the Caring for Racing Animals in Extreme Heat Policy were implemented.
 
Stewards approved the following overweights:
 
Race 2.         Brendon Newport – +1/2kg
Race 7.         Tasha Chambers – +1kg
 
 
RACE 1: NATIONAL THOROUGHBRED WEEK QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP (1050 M)
 
SARAQAEL – Jumped away awkwardly. Jockey Warwick Satherley pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip 7 times prior to the 100m, 17 times in totality. Jockey Satherley’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 7 days, with the suspension commencing midnight on 6th December 2025 and conclude midnight 13th December 2025.
 
SENZORA – Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 400m shifted out to improve and bumped with NEXT LEGACY. Raced greenly when under pressure in the home straight.
 
OLD GOLD – Over raced in the early stages.
 
NEXT LEGACY – Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped by NEXT LEGACY approaching the 400m when that runner shifted outwards to improve.
 
POWER CHIC – Trainer Clinton Taylor was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67(1) for the late declaration of jockey Tasha Chambers. Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Inclined to lay outwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
RACE 2: KICK UP FOR RACING MAIDEN HANDICAP (1500 M)
 
ACTS ALONE – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight. Jockey Brendon Lerena was at a loss to explain the disappointing performance of his mount. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
 
MAYOR OF KINGSTON – Jumped away awkwardly. Approaching the 1200m shifted outwards to avoid the heels of CASH PIT when that runner lost ground and carried ATLANTIC LACE wider on the track. Bumped with THREE TEES passing the 200m.
 
SHE'S GOT LYRICS – Bumped with SHE’SANAIS at the start. Raced wide early. Raced fiercely in the early and middle stages.
 
YOROKOBI (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid inwards when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
CASH PIT – Become awkwardly placed on the heels of THREE TEES approaching the 1200m, and appeared to baulk, becoming unbalanced and lost ground as a consequence. Apprentice Tom Orr was fined $500 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to his mount on 9 occasions prior to the 100m and 11 times in total.
 
THREE TEES – Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped with THE MAYOR OF KINGSTON passing the 200m.
 
SHE'SANAIS – Bumped with SHE’S GOT LYRICS at the start.
 
ATLANTIC LACE – Carried wider on the track approaching the 1200m by MAYOR OF KINGSTON.
 
FILLYDELPHIA MISS – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
PICNIC BLANKET – Impeded on jumping when CASH PIT shifted outwards. Raced keenly when wide in the early stages.
 
Due to lightning in close proximity to the racecourse following the running of Race 2, all were delayed indefinitely to allow the storm activity to pass. At 3:30pm, the remaining 6 races were postponed. Racing Queensland advised that they were investigating the option to conduct the remaining 6 races the following day, Friday 28th, with confirmation to be advised.
