GENERAL
 
Due to rider Kenji Yoshida being unable to attend the meeting, rider replacements were approved as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Overweight permitted as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Due to a power outage in the localised area at 1.10pm, the start of race 3 was delayed with the following race time amendments:
 
Race 3 – 2.34pm
Race 4 – 3.04pm
Race 5 – 3.35pm
Race 6 – 4.05pm
Race 7 – 4.35pm
Race 8 – 5.05pm

 
RACE 1:GREAT NORTHERN QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1050M

MONSIEUR AMOUR – Jumped away awkwardly. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Passing the 200m, shifted in when hanging and briefly impeded AGILE ANNIE. Jockey Natalea Summers was reprimanded under AR131(a) for failing to stop riding and straighten her mount at this point of the race. Jockey Summers was also reprimanded under AR131(b) for failing to ensure she rode her mount out fully to the finish.

AGILE ANNIE – Briefly impeded passing the 200m when MONSIEUR AMOUR shifted inwards.

SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming very fractious in the barriers and was cleared to start. Trainer Jamie McConachy was advised that a warning has been placed against the barrier manners of SHEMAKESMENERVOUS. Jumped away awkwardly.

MARBLE WARRIOR – Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Checked soon after the start when MUSEE DU LOUVE shifted outwards abruptly. Hung out badly during the run against the efforts of the rider and raced very wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be lame in the left foreleg. Trainer Stephen Rundle was advised that MARBLE WARRIOR has been stood down from racing until the completion of a satisfactory trial and presentation of a veterinary clearance.

MUSEE DU LOUVRE – Jumped outwards abruptly at the start and checked MARBLE WARRIOR. Raced wide early until obtaining the lead near the 750m.

THE SOLICITOR – Proved difficult to load. Raced ungenerously when wide in the early stages.

POWERED RIGHT UP – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly.


RACE 2:TAB MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO ONLY) 1400M
 
The start of this race was delayed by 2 minutes due to stewards identifying that a track staff member was positioned on the track near the 600m.

ALWAYS DELIVERS – Slow to begin.

TURBO TORQUE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Improved onto the heels of CASH PIT rounding the home turn and had to be restrained. When queried in relation to her decision to persist with inside runs in the home straight, apprentice Steph Tierney advised that entering the home straight she identified that runners in advance of her had shifted outwards and created an available run on the inside. Miss Tierney added that after committing to the inside running, approaching the 400m the leader, WATCHFULWILDERNESS, shifted back towards the inside when clear of her own mount and as such she looked to move to the outside of that runner. Miss Tierney further stated that after switching to the outside of WATCHFULWILDERNESS near the 200m, HOLLER DASH had shifted inwards simultaneously to her own outward shift, which resulted in her own mount being disappointed for a run between those two runners. When considering the statements of apprentice Tierney, the available replay footage, and the mannerisms of the horses in the home straight, stewards could not be satisfied that the tactics adopted by the rider were so unreasonable to warrant further action being taken.

WATCHFULWILDERNESS – Raced keenly in the early stages. Near the 100m, laid out and bumped with HOLLER DASH, which hung in.

I WANT IT ALL – Slow to begin.

CASH PIT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SOYDECAFFLATTE – Raced wide in the early stages.

HOLLER DASH – Jason Taylor was the approved late rider replacement for Kenji Yoshida. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Hung in near the 100m and bumped with WATCHFULWILDERNESS.         


RACE 3:THE AGENCY CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1200M

BLITZWATER – Over raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

CRYPTOLOGY – Slow to begin. Held up for clear racing room in the home straight until a point near the 200m. Bumped with LUXOR PRINCE passing the 400m.

SKILFUL ARTIST – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide early.

HUMBLE HERO – Jumped away awkwardly.

LUXOR PRINCE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped with CRYPTOLOGY passing the 400m.

MONDAY CHOICE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keen early when looking to obtain cover. Jockey Raul Silvera Olivera was fined $100 under AR132(6)(b) for applying the whip when his arm was raised above shoulder height.

MR GREY – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages when looking to obtain cover.


RACE 4:TAB ROCKHAMPTON CUP ON SALE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP  1600M

PREPOTENT – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the early part of home straight.

THEBARBEROFSEVILLE – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages. Hung in under pressure in the home straight. Carried BOOM BOOM BELLA wider near the 800m when shifting out to improve. Shifted in under pressure passing the 400m and bumped with KAYLEEN’S PROFIT.

OUT OF ACES – Disappointed for a clear inside run passing the 300m and was shifted wider to obtain clear racing room.

BOOM BOOM BELLA – Carried wider near the 800m when THEBARBEROFSEVILLE shifted outwards to improve.

MOISSANITE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced keenly when wide in the early stages.

KAYLEEN'S PROFIT (NZ) – Bumped passing the 400m when THEBARBEROFSEVILLE shifted inwards.        


RACE 5:CS ELECTRICAL OPEN HANDICAP 1050M

TRACK TALE – Jumped away awkwardly and contacted the inside barrier partition. Held up for clear racing room until a point passing the 400m.

DOUBTING EYE – Slow to begin.

SUNNYCOAST – Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

DEHORNED UNICORN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly and was slow to begin as a result. Raced keenly in the middle stages.

MEDIA EMPIRE – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

KING SPIRIT – Jumped away awkwardly and jumped in the air at the start losing ground in consequence.

PRETTY SLICK – Jumped away awkwardly.    


RACE 6:NORRIS HAIR ROCKHAMPTON BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1050M

UNDERRATED – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with BILLY BOOM. Awkwardly placed at the heels of BILLY BOOM approaching the 400m when that runner shifted out.

FUTURE SOLDIER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

IDHANA – Jumped away awkwardly. Laid in approaching the 900m and briefly tightened LADY CONSORT. Near the 900m was briefly tightened when LOLLIES hung in and shifted inwards. Apprentice Nikki Olzard was reprimanded for failing to make all effort to prevent her mount from shifting inwards. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

DISCOVERED GOLD – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

CRYOSEISMS – Knuckled on jumping. Raced wide throughout. Jockey Warwick Satherley was reprimanded under AR132(7)(a)(i) for applying the whip to his mount on 3 consecutive strides prior to the 100m.

SCRUFFY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with XUANFENG and was slow to begin as a result. Held up for clear racing room until leaving the 450m and then shifted in across the heels of UNDERRATED. Briefly held up for clear running leaving the 200m until near the 100m.

BILLY BOOM – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with UNDERRATED. Held up for clear racing room until near the 400m when shifted outwards placing UNDERRATED awkward at heels. Apprentice Tahlia Fenlon was reprimanded under AR131(a) for failing to ensure the required clearance to another runner.

LOLLIES – Jumped away awkwardly. Shifted inwards near the 900m and briefly tightened IDHANA.

LADY CONSORT – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers at the request of the rider and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly. Briefly tightened near the 900m when IDHANA shifted in. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

XUANFENG – Chris McIver was the approved late rider replacement for Kenji Yoshida. Jumped away awkwardly and bumped with SCRUFFY.


RACE 7:WILLIAM BAULCH MEMORIAL BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP  1200M

NIGHTSTICK – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

ASK ME MATE – Impeded at the start when YES I’M UGLY jumped outwards and DARLING CLEMENTINE jumped inwards.

PRESOCRATICS – Jumped away awkwardly.

RED BEAUTY – Jumped away awkwardly.

LONERGY – Slow to begin.

OUTWITTED – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having not started in a race for an extended period and was cleared to start. Briefly become fractious in the barriers and dislodged the bridle which was then refitted. Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room at various stages in the home straight until near the 350m.
 
BOTANICA – Paul Hamblin was the approved late rider replacement for Kenji Yoshida. Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide in the early and middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

DARLING CLEMENTINE – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted in, impeding ASK ME MATE.

VICTORY'S GHOST – Slow to begin.

ELECTRIC BRAE – Jumped away awkwardly. Apprentice Courtney Bellamy pleaded guilty to a charge under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for applying the whip to her mount on 11 occasions prior to the 100m and 14 times in total. The license to ride in races of apprentice Bellamy was suspended for a period of 9 days, with the suspension to commence midnight 25th May 2026 and to concluded midnight 3rd June 2026.

YES I'M UGLY – Jumped away awkwardly and shifted outwards impeding ASK ME MATE. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

HARD TO DISMISS – Jumped away awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 200m.            
 
 
RACE 8:DC HOUSE RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1400M

NITROGEN – Bumped at the start by LORD PROTECTOR (NZ). Raced keenly in the early stages.

NOTACLUEHOWORWHO – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages.

THE LAST SAGA – Briefly placed awkwardly at the heels of HEROIC BEACH when that runner shifted inwards.

LORD PROTECTOR (NZ) – Paul Hamblin was the approved late rider replacement for Kenji Yoshida. Jumped away awkwardly, bumped with NITROGEN and was slow to begin as a result.

INTREPID LAD – Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages.

HEROIC BEACH – Shifted inwards near the 100m and briefly placed THE LAST SAGA awkward at heels. Jockey Brendon Lerena was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances.

NOTFORTHEMONEY – Knuckled on jumping.

SUMICH – Jumped away awkwardly.

LATIN LOVE – Jumped away awkwardly.

MILK MAID – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination behind the barriers after contacting the mounting yard enclosure fence and was cleared to start. Jumped away awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages and was shifted wider near the 1000m and raced wide thereafter.

SPELLMASTER (NZ) – Jumped away awkwardly. Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
