RACE 3:WELCOME GOLD CLUB MEMBERS QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1100 M

The start of this race was delayed due to the vet attending a runner from race 2.

Correct weight was delayed to allow stewards to view the available replays in relation to jockey J Lloyd being dislodged at the start from NAUGHTY NANNA. Upon hearing submissions from trainer J Bellamy, rider J Lloyd and viewing the available replays it was established that immediately prior to the field being released NAUGHTY NANNA had commenced to rear and was held by a barrier attendant and when the filly come down from rearing the arm of the barrier attendant impeded the balance of jockey Lloyd resulting the rider being dislodged. Stewards were satisfied that NAUGHTY NANNA had been denied a fair start under the provisions of AR204(1)(c) and was therefore declared a non-starter. The following deductions were ordered.

Win bets minus 21 cents.
Place bets for winner minus 20 cents.

MUSEE DU LOUVRE – Began awkwardly. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Shifted out under pressure over the final stages. RACE 7:TATTERSALLS GOLD CUP OPEN HANDICAP          1600 M

Stewards inquired into the circumstances where LOGAN STREET LION was hampered near the 300m. After taking evidence from Jockeys R Stewart (DIVAKARA), R Silvera Olivera (LOGAN STREET LION) and apprentice S Callow (AMENOPHIS) it was established that nearing the 300m DIVAKARA improved into a run between ASTRA STAR and LOGAN STREET LION whilst at the same time AMENOPHIS, which was racing to the outside of LOGAN STREET LION commenced to hang in and raced tight onto that runner. Soon after ASTRA STAR shifted outwards marginally which resulted in DIVAKARA shifting out and contacting LOGAN STREET LION which was hampered and in turn contact was made between that runner and AMENORPHIS, with AMENORPHIS becoming unbalanced for a number of strides. When considering the entire circumstances, the mannerisms of the runners involved and the marginal shift from ASTRA STAR out onto DIVAKARA, stewards could not be satisfied to the requisite standard that the actions of jockey R Stewart were solely responsible for the incident, however the rider was issued with a reprimand under AR 131(a) in this instance.
