RACE 1: BOB SYMONS QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1100M
COAL SEAM – Trainer C Taylor advised that the gelding had pulled up well following the run and that it would be his intention to continue with COAL SEAM’s preparation.
GENERAL
As jockey Tahlia Fenlon was unable to ride at today’s meeting due to injury, rider replacements were approved as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
As apprentice Jai Williams was not attending today’s meeting, stewards approved rider replacements as per the race day summary.
Apprentice Williams was subsequently fined $200 under the provisions of AR127(1) for failing to fulfil his engagement.
RACE 1: GREAT NORTHERN MAIDEN HANDICAP (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO'S ONLY) 1050M
BARTLE FRERE – Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
JUNGLE WONDER – Began awkwardly and bumped by ICYMISS, carried inwards and bumped heavily with MUSS DU LOUVRE as a result buffeted and lost ground.
BLUE TOES (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after not competing for an extended period and was cleared to start. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
BRITISH NAVY – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Raced wide in the early stages. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
MUSEE DU LOUVRE – Began awkwardly bumped heavily with JUNGLE WONDER and buffeted between JUNGLE WONDER and THE SOLICITOR shortly after the start. Over raced in the early stages. Briefly held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Inclined to lay outwards over the final 200m.
ICYMISS – Shifted inwards on jumping bumping JUNGLE WONDER and carrying that runner inwards to bump with MUSSE DE LOUVRE. Raced wide in the early stages. Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages. Briefly held up in the early stages of the home straight. Raced greenly in under pressure in the home straight.
THE SOLICITOR – Bumped with MUSS DU LOUVRE shortly after the start.
POWERED RIGHT UP – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight.
AGILE ANNIE – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Tired noticeably from the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have soreness in both forelegs. Trainer C Reid was advised that AGILE ANNIE would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
Following the running of this race the track was upgraded to a good 4.
RACE 2: CHAS JONES MEMORIAL QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200M
NOJONKMAIL – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
BOLD ENVOY – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Over raced in the early stages when being restrained to find a position with cover and briefly became awkwardly placed on the heels of WHEELER DEALER near the 1000m. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
BRILLIANT DISGUISE – Raced keenly in the early stages. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
WHEELER DEALER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide in the early stages.
COSMOPOLITAN LADY – Jockey R Wiggins pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR211(1) in that he returned to the scales in excess of 0.5kg overweight. Mr Wiggins was subsequently fined $1000. Stewards were mindful of jockey Wiggins poor record and guilty plea.
EXOTIC DAME – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils on the first occasion. Trainer J Wiggington was advised that the filly would be subject to the requirements of AR79(4). Jockey C McIver was reminded of his obligations in relation to his whip use when out of contention.
ROYAL DIAMOND – Began awkwardly. Apprentice B Youngberry reported that she had dropped her whip at a point near the 200m.
STAR BONDINI – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after becoming fractious in the barriers and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and hampered by MISS SO AND SO which shifted inwards and slow to begin as a result. Trainer G Taylor was advised that STAR BONDINI would be required to complete an official trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again due to its barrier loading manners.
TALE OF TASS – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
POWER OF ANGELINE – Shifted outwards on jumping and slow to begin as a result. Raced wide throughout.
MISS SO AND SO – Began awkwardly hampering STAR BONDINI. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
ANDERS KISS – Over raced in the middle stages. Had difficulties obtaining clear racing room in the home straight until shifting wider near the 200m.
BALKAN MELODY - Began awkwardly and blundered shortly after the start.
RACE 3: GARRARDS HORSE AND HOUND RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1600M
BATEMANS BAY (FR) – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
INTREPID LAD – Raced keenly in the early stages. Apprentice M Apel reported that her mount did not feel fluent in its action over the final stages. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
SKILFUL ARTIST – Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide in the early stages. Laid outwards over the final stages.
CRYPTOLOGY – Bumped with GENERAL GORDAN near the 400m and in turn that runner bumped with BATEMANS BAY (FR). Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight.
GENERAL GORDON – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Raced keenly in the early stages. Bumped with CRYPTOLOGY near the 400m and in turn bumped with BATEMANS BAY (FR). Held up for clear racing rim in the early stages of the home straight. Bumped with LATIN LOVE near the 200m when that runner shifted outwards. Jockey A Holt reported that his mounts tendency to over race in the early stages proved detrimental to the geldings’ chances.
TOKYO QUEEN (NZ) – Was declared a late scratching at 1:45pm by order of stewards after refusing to load. Prior to the declaration of correct weight stewards ordered that all monies invested on TOKYO QUEEN (NZ) to be refunded in full and the following deductions to apply:

Trainer K Thomas was advised that TOKYO QUEEN (NZ) would be required to complete an official trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to racing again.
I'M NOT GREY – Began awkwardly. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight.
SHINY LOVE (NZ) – Apprentice N Olzard was harmlessly dislodged on route to the barriers. Raced keenly in the early stages of the home straight. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 200m.
BOOM CRUSHER – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
LATIN LOVE - Began awkwardly.
RACE 4: BRISBANE AIRPORT HOTELS GROUP RATINGS BAND 0-58 HANDICAP 1300M
HUMBLE HERO – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
LET'SGO HUGO – Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
BILLY BOOM – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Over raced in the middle stages and near the 800m shifted wider when the paced slackened and raced wide thereafter. Briefly held up for clear racing room at a point near the 400m. When questioned in relation to the performance jockey R Wiggins stated that in his opinion the step up in distance in today’s event may not have proved beneficial to the geldings’ chances.
ITZA MOTZA – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages.
TEN CARAT LUCY - Began awkwardly. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Held up for clear racing room until shifting outwards near the 300m.
AZUKI - Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages.
KAYLEEN'S PROFIT (NZ) -
THE LAST SAGA – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 800m and shifted wider from that point.
BELVEDERE MISS - Began Awkwardly.
LUXOR PRINCE – Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Over raced in the early and middle stages and had to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 400m.
RACE 5: ROCKHAMPTON MINI LOADS KEN RUSSELL MEMORIAL QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD HANDICAP 1200M
THEE CREEK – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. When questioned in relation to the performance apprentice M Apel stated that the gelding was worked up pre-race and had travelled well in the early and middle stages, however failed to let down over the final 400m.
NEVERENOUGHLEGO – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
PONTEVICO - Slow into stride.
I'M NELSON - Slow into stride.
SILVER SMASH – Began awkwardly.
TRIPLE SPIRIT – Raced keenly in the early stages.
EVAREADYMISS – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after not competing for an extended period and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide until a point near the 800m. When questioned in relation to the performance jockey A Butler stated that after not beginning as well as expected he was trapped wide in the early stages and had to restrain to find cover near the 800m, when placed under pressure near the 700m the filly had responded in a dour manner. He further added that EVAREADYMISS would derive significant fitness benefit from the first up run.
SHEMAKESMENERVOUS – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
BONEWOOD – Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 400m. Laid outwards under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 6: TAB BELLE OF CAPRICORNIA FILLIES AND MARES BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1400M
CALYX ROSE – Began awkwardly.
JAM PACKED – Began awkwardly.
TRAPEDO – Began awkwardly and bumped with BLACK EYED BLONDE. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight. Jockey G Cartwright pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in which she applied the whip to her mount on 9 occasions prior to the 100m and 14 times in total. Ms Cartwight’s license to ride in races was suspended for 7 days to commence midnight 11/7/26 to conclude midnight 18/7/26.
TIGON PRINCESS – As jockey R Wiggins was unable to make the allotted weight, he was subsequently replaced by jockey D Turner. Jockey R Wiggins subsequently pleaded guilty to a charge under AR190(3) in which he accepted a ride when overweight. When determining penalty stewards took into account the totality of issuing a further monetary penalty in addition to an earlier issued fine would be excessive in the circumstances. Subsequently jockey R Wiggins was issued a reprimand. Began awkwardly and slow to begin as a result. Over raced in the early stages. Laid inwards under pressure in the home straight.
BLACK EYED BLONDE – Began awkwardly and bumped with TRAPEDO.
SPIRIT OF NURAI – Raced keenly in the early stages.
INNOVADER - Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
TOO MANY KISSES – Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide in the early stages.
RACE 7: ONE SYNDICATIONS ROCKHAMPTON NEWMARKET 1300M
SHA OF GOMER – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early and middle stages, improving onto the heels of MASTER MONTARO near the 700m and had to be restrained.
OUROBOROS – Began awkwardly and was slow to begin.
DEMON AWARD – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the middle stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
DIVINE PURPOSE – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after not racing for an extended period and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly and hampered on jumping when PRIDE OF VENUS shifted outwards and PRESOCRATICS shifted inwards. Slow into stride. Apprentice L Martyn was reminded of her obligations in relation to her whip use when out of contention.
JOY A PLENTY – Began awkwardly. Raced keenly in the early stages.
ODEGAARD - Held up for clear racing room in the early stages of the home straight. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
DON PEDRO – Briefly raced in restricted room near the 700m between PRIDE OF VENUS and SHA OF GOMER.
PRESOCRATICS – Began awkwardly shifting inwards hampering DIVINE PURPOSE. Approaching the 200m placed in restricted room when OUR MAGNUS shifted outwards and ODEGAARD laid inwards simultaneously. Jockey W Satherley (OUR MAGNUS) was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 200m.
OUR MAGNUS – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Disappointed for a run leaving the 300m when improving into a tight run to the inside of MASTER MONTARO which shifted inwards. Jockey T Brooker (MASTER MONTARO) was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Shifted outwards approaching 200m placing PRESOCRATICS in restricted room.
MASTER MONTARO – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Leaving 300m shifted inwards placing OUR MAGNUS in restricted room which was attempting a tight run to the inside.
BOLD COMIC – Began awkwardly.
PRIDE OF VENUS – Began awkwardly hampering DIVINE PURPOSE.
RED HOT LIZZIE –Laid inwards under pressure over the final stages.
GLASS OF ROSE – Began awkwardly.
RACE 8: LIVING TURF BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1100M
KRACKACAN – Began awkwardly, shifting outwards hampering and buffeting with CRYOSEISMS. Over raced in the early stages. Jockey N Summers reported that after having to endure work in the early stages to obtain the lead, when asked for an effort her mount failed to respond as expected and would derive fitness benefit from today’s first up outing.
WOLFGANG – Began awkwardly. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
OVER DRAFT – Began awkwardly. Held up for clear racing room until a point near the 400m. inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
CRYOSEISMS – Began awkwardly. Shortly after the start was hampered and buffeted between KRACKACAN and DON’T TOUCH and lost ground as a result. Held up for clear running upon entering the home straight.
DON'T TOUCH – Began awkwardly, shifted inwards hampering and buffeted with CRYSEISMS. Over raced in the early stages. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure in the home straight.
KING'S DUTY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after not racing for an extended period and was cleared to start. Held up for majority of the home straight until switching wider near the 100m.
SNAZZY SNITZEL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary inspection after not competing for an extended period and was cleared to start. Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.
