GENERAL

Stewards accepted the explanations provided by trainers B. Andrew and S. Andrew for the late rider declarations of Bizarre Rock, Tornadoes and Release me. Rider declarations were made as per the steward’s race day summary.

RACE 1: MIDWELL RURAL TRADERS MAIDEN PLATE – 900M

BRADBURY’S BRANDY – Stood flat footed and lost considerable ground. Raced ungenerously in the early stages. Trainer W. Baker was advised that the mare would be required to trial satisfactorily in the presence of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

ZARMONEY – Began awkwardly and shifted out. Raced wide for the remainder of the event.

PUBLIC ADDRESS – Hung out from the 600m until a point near the 400m. Trainer S. McEwan was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing manners.

WONDERFUL TESS – Raced wide during the middle stages of the event. Blundered near the 80m and became momentarily unbalanced.

RACE 2: WALLUMBILLA CABINS CLASS B HCP – 1000M

Stewards accepted the explanation provided by trainer J. Ferguson with regards to the late rider alteration for SPECTACULAR ROCK (B. Richardson).

COPPER THIEF - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination prior to the running of race 2 and was subsequently passed fit to start.

EVERYTHING TO GAIN – Dislodged its rider during the preliminary and was retrieved soon after by the clerk of the course. The gelding was then examined by the veterinary surgeon and was subsequently passed fit to start. Apprentice S. Palmer, the rider of Everything To Gain, was passed fit by the Qld Ambulance Service to take his ride. Tightened for room shortly after the start and lost ground. Made the home turn very wide.

BIZARRE ROCK – Improved onto heels near the 700m, restrained and shifted out.

DASHING CONQUEROR – Raced in a three wide position without cover for the majority of the event.

FABLED DOMAIN – Raced wide for the majority of the event.

RACE 3: BRANDON AND ASSOCIATES BMK 65 HCP – 1000M

ROYAL REWARD – Began awkwardly and lost ground.

KBENGAL – Jumped out at the start and made contact with another runner becoming momentarily unbalanced. Restrained near the 600m to avoid another runner’s heels.

SARSGHI – Bumped by another runner at the start.

SHREK HER OUT – Resented the kick back near the 600m and shifted out.

INNER BLU – Restrained off the heels of another runner near 600m.

THE ROBBER – After casting a hind plate prior to the running of today’s event, trainer K. Dowling made application to race the gelding with no hind plates. Stewards permitted The Robber to do so.

SPINADA – Raced very wide from the 600m.

RACE 4: BENDEMERE CONSTRUCTIONS BENDEMERE CUP OPEN HCP – 1000M

CANADIAN JOY – Weakened badly from the 600m, tailed off and failed to finish. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any significant findings. Trainer W. Baker was advised that Canadian Joy would be required to trial satisfactorily in the presence of stewards prior to being permitted to race again.

TORNADOES – Raced wide throughout. Cast the off hind plate. Rider reported that the gelding failed to handle the prevailing track conditions and resented the kick back, which could be attributed the horse’s seemingly disappointing performance.

RACE 5: HARKER ACCOUNTANTS BMK 60 HCP – 1200M

RELEASE ME – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination prior to the running of race 5 and was subsequently passed fit to start. When questioned in regards to the seemingly disappointing performance, Trainer B. Andrew stated that the gelding did not handle the prevailing track conditions and significant travel time to today’s meeting. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

LA CLOISONNE – Was slow to begin. Raced very wide without cover for the majority of the event.

BACK TO WHARTON – Was slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

GARDER LA FOI – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
