GENERAL
Race 1, Stewards permitted apprentice Cody Collis to replace jockey Jason Missen who failed to appear on course as the rider of BEST SONG as there was no other suitable rider to make the weight.
 
 
Race 1: BARRY RICHARDSON MEMORIAL Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)
 
RUSS MUSS, raced wide throughout.
 
SUPERIOR ONE, reared as the gates opened and swung head into outside barrier and took no part in the race. Trainer Jessikah – Lee Brand was advised SUPERIOR ONE must pass a jump out to Stewards satisfaction before racing again.
 
BEST SONG,
Stood flat footed and missed the start by several lengths, rider stated failed to handle the sand surface early on. Trainer Leigh Wanless was advised BEST SONG must pass a jump out to Stewards satisfaction before racing again.
 
EL ‘N’ ALL, slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
 
 
Race 2: MCDONALDS Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)
 
TAMBO ROAD, fractious prior to the start, began awkwardly and failed to stretch out on the sand surface.
 
SPICY AGAIN, raced wide throughout.
 
PUNJABI SAVITAR, was declared a late scratching 1:40pm after failing a veterinary inspection of soundness. Stewards ordered all monies invested on PUNJABI SAVITAR to be refunded and declared deductions of 15 cents on all win bets and 16 cents on all place bets for second were to occur.
 
SUNNYSIDE COTTAGE, was resaddled at the barriers prior to the start.
 
BEGUDTOYAOWNER, slow into stride.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 3: RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITY QTIS BENCHMARK 55 (1000 METRES)
 
HARD ENOUGH, raced wide throughout.
 
KING CONI, rider reported hung throughout the race resulting in racing wide for entire event.
 
MORE THAN LIKELY, began awkwardly.
 
FOR LOVE, began awkwardly.
 
LEICA SPECIAL, raced wide throughout.
 
THE SWELL, slow to begin.
 
PERSAGA, slow into stride.
 
BEGIN, slow into stride.
 
ALL NATIVE, raced wide throughout.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 4: MCDELIVERY Class B Handicap (1200 METRES)
 
LUCKY ENUFF, proved difficult to load.
 
ROSTRUM, was squeezed between runners at the start.
 
STORMWATER, slow to begin and raced wide throughout.
 
JUST CALL MY NAME, proved difficult to load and raced wide throughout.
 
MADONNA FALLS, raced wide throughout.
 
BRADDOCK DOWN, raced very wide throughout.
 
NEELANJALI, raced wide throughout.
 
WHOSTOPPEDTHERAIN, proved difficult to load.
 
BOLD ADMIRAL, jumped out at the start bumping another runner.
 
 
 
Race 5: MCDONALDS ROMA OPEN Handicap (1200 METRES)
 
FAB’S COWBOY, raced wide throughout without cover.
 
NICK THE SKIP, as the start was effect, lunged at the gates and the rider became unbalanced for several strides resulting in NICK THE SKIP being extremely slow into stride.
 
 
 
 
Race 6: MCCAFE CHRISTMAS  BENCHMARK 60 Handicap (1640 METRES)
 
RIVIATA, slow into stride and raced wide throughout.
 
PARANGAS, slow into stride.
