Race 1:NUTRIEN HARCOURTS Class 1 Handicap 1000 metres
 
Stewards permitted the late arrival of FRIDAY’s JET and Jockey S McGovern after hearing the explanations of both Jockey McGovern and Trainer T Hall.
 
Afroginasock – Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in in the early and middle stages. Inclined
to lay out over the concluded stages.
 
Igbo – Hung out when rounding home turn. Inclined to lay out when placed under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
Friday's Jet - Began awkwardly. Commenced to hang out from 600 metres and as a result took no further competitive part in the event. A post-race veterinary examination failed to revealed any significant abnormalities.
 
Stays On Tour - When questioned regarding the above market expectation performance, trainer W. Baker stated that after a disappointing run at Emerald, Trainer Baker felt as though the horse had been working well into the preparation for today’s event and as a result expected the gelding to be forward showing today. Steward’s noted Trainer Baker’s explanation.
 
Under Par - Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Bean A Bad Girl – Began awkward
 
Jet Spinner- Blundered on jumping. Leaving the 800 metres,
 
 
 
Race 2: MITCHELL WATER / MRC Class 6 Plate 1200 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed to allow the running of an interstate event.
 
Daltoro – Approaching the 1100 metres, improved onto heels when racing keenly and was forced to steady. Raced keenly in the early and middles stages. Hung out round the home turn and for the majority of the home straight.
 
Snowfire – Inclined to lay in for a short distance near the 700 metres.
 
Laurie – Laid in when under pressure in the home straight.
 
Vahash – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. Slow to begin. Raced wide without cover for the majority of the event.
 
Rogue Star – Slow to begin.
 
Bonnie Ev – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
Chester's Angel – Began awkwardly.
 
Following this event, App. I Rabjones was examined by the Queensland Ambulance Officers. After doing so, App. Rabjones was stood down for the remainder of the meeting. App. Rabjones was advised that she would require a medical clearance prior to riding in races again.

Race 3:MCINNES WILSON LAWYERS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 Handicap
1200 metres
 
Bearnas – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Zuma – Bumped on jumping.
 
Curic – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Cutting Loose – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
Roots'n'rocks – Began awkwardly and made contact with ZUMA.
 
Palentiful – Laid in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Queen Of The South – Began awkwardly and jumped inwards making contact with ROOTS’N’ROCKS. Shifted in near the 200 metres to obtain clear running.
 
Race 4: XXXX GOLD BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1640 metres
 
The Carpenter – Slow into stride. App. O Kendal pleaded guilty to a charge under AR131(b) in that she failed to ride her mount out to finish. App. Kendal’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 14 days to commence after the conclusion of a suspension received at Ipswich on 18th November 2022. App. Kendal made application to stewards to amend the dates of the suspension she received at Ipswich to commence midnight 27th November 2022 and expire on midnight 8th December 2022. The suspension from this event will commence on midnight 8th December 2022 and expire on midnight 22nd December 2022. In determining penalty, Stewards took into account App. Kendal’s guilty plea and good record however were satisfied that App. Kendal’s actions had cost her mount second place.
 
Shotgun Sonny – Raced ungenerously in the early stages before settling into a leading position near the 1200 metres.
 
Miralie – At a point near the 700 metres, momentarily raced in restricted room. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.
 
Aliraaj (NZ) – Began awkwardly making contact with WAITAKERE and as a result lost ground.
 
Tell The World – Began awkwardly. Inclined to lay in when placed under pressure in the home straight.

Badge Of Gameness – Began awkwardly tightening WAITAKERE.
 
Forged In Stone - Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
Waitakere – Tightened on jumping and lost ground.
 
Race 5:ROYAL ON 99 ROMA CUP / COUNTRY CUPS CHALLENGE
QUALIFIER OPEN Handicap 1640 metres  
 
Nick The Skip – Hung out near the 1200 metres when rounding the turn.
 
Jochberg – Prior to the declaration of correct weight, App. S Champkin reviewed the start to ascertain whether she had grounds to lodge a protest. After doing so, App. Champkin declined to proceed. Began awkwardly. Placed in restricted room shortly after the start and as a result lost considerable ground.
 
Kuzco Lad – When the paced slackened leaving the 1400 metres, shifted out off heels to obtain a clear running.
 
Burden – Laid in for the majority of the home straight.
 
Hezhome – Began awkwardly making contact with CHOCOLATIER. When questioned regarding the poor performance, Jockey S McGovern reported that the gelding travelled well however weakened over the final 100 metres in the heavier track conditions. Trainer C Smith reported that the gelding had pulled up well however had not performed well at previous starts over 1600 metres.
 
No Inuendo – When laying in near the 1400 metres, momentarily raced in restricted room and as a result made contact with the hind quarter of HEZHOME.
 
Tycoon Zip – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed fit to start with a small superficial laceration on the off hind leg near the hip. Floundered at the start.Raced widewithout cover throughout. At the request of the trainer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was treated by the veterinary surgeon with pain relief and anti-inflammatory medication. 
 
Bernie's Tiger – Laid in for a short distance after the winning post and as a result made contact with the running rail.
 
Chocolatier (NZ) – After being bumped shortly after the start, shifted outwards and as a result place JOCHBERG in restricted room.
 
Race 6: 6 EXPLORERS INN ANDREW ARTHUR MEMORIAL COUNTRY
STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN H 1000 metres
 
V J Day (USA) – Raced wide without cover for the majority. Collapsed on pulling up after the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed that the gelding had suffered from a catastrophic blood vessel failure and was subsequently euthanised on humane grounds. Acting under the provisions of AR208(3)(b), Stewards declared, as Jockey Geran had weighed out correctly, and that it was impracticable for Jockey Geran to weigh in and as a result declared correct weight.
 
The Tenor – Blundered on jumping. Laid in for the distance of the home straight.
 
Wall Street Tycoon – Began awkwardly.
 
Hard Stride – Raced keenly for the majority of the event. Hung out from near the 600 metres until the early stages of the home straight.
 
Tycoon Thunder – Hung out from near the 600 metres until the early stages of the home straight.
 
Minted – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress. The veterinary surgeon treated the gelding accordingly.
 
Diggity - Slow to begin.
 
Trump Me – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress. The veterinary surgeon treated the gelding accordingly.
 
Menindee – Began awkwardly making contact with the outside barrier partition. Inclined to lay in for the distance of the home straight.
 
Following the running of this event, Jockey G Geran advised stewards that after the euthanasia of VJ DAY he was not of the right frame of mind to continue riding and that he did not feel comfortable with continuing to ride at the meeting. Stewards accepted Jockey Geran’s explanation.
 
Race 7: HALL CHADWICK QTIS Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
Arctic Waltz – Began awkwardly.
 
Country Boyz - Momentarily tightened for room on jumping.
 
Highland Thunder – Slow to begin.
 
Keenzap – Declared a late scratching at 3:21pm at the request of the trainer as Jockey Geran was no longer able to proceed and there was no other suitable senior rider available at the weight. As betting had commenced on this race, Stewards order the following deductions on successful wagers placed prior 3:21pm.
