GENERAL
Jockey M Butler was unable to attend today’s race meeting due to transport difficulties. Rider changes made as per the Summary Report.
Stewards allowed the following overweight:
Race 2: P Randall +.50kg

Race 1: BARONGA CATTLE CO BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 900m

OAKFIELD TARGET – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

ENFLAMED - Raced wide throughout.

BAG OF WHITT - Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

Race 2: COOMBERS CONTRACTING CLASS B HANDICAP 1000m

BONTOBEWILD - Refused to load and was subsequently declared a late scratching at 1:50PM. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered all monies invested on mare be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all succesful wagers placed prior to 1:50pm:

45c for the win
34c for the place on the winner
34c for 2nd place
34c for 3rd place

Trainer W Baker was was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race. Stewards intend to enquire into the reasons BONTOBEWILD left course prior to the prescribed time.

SIR OCCY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

SMIKO – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.

LIGHT UP THE DAWN – Stewards permitted rider P Randall to ride +.50kg (56.5kg).

Race 3: ENZED SURAT BASIN MAIDEN PLATE 1200m

NORM’S GENERATION - Late scratching at 2:29pm on veterinary advice after rearing in the barriers and contacting its head with the barrier petition. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 2:29pm

13c for the win
16c for the place on the winner
16c for 2nd

Trainer W Baker was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding for being fractious in the barriers.

MISS RAPIDE - Declared a late scratching at 2:29pm after refusing to load. Prior to the declaration of correct weight all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions to be applied to all successful wagers placed prior to 2:29pm:

37c for the win
31c for the place on the winner
31c for 2nd

Trainer P Kalinowski was advised the mare would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

NYTHE – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.

FEISTY LEGEND –Trainer R Hay was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for its pre-race manners in the mounting yard.

SNUBA - Over-raced in the early stages. Trainer B Waldron was advised a warning would be place on the mare for being reluctant to proceed to the barriers.

Race 4: PTW AUTO ELECTRICAL QTIS RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1200m

FLUDWAY- Late scratching at 3:09pm after being fractious in the barriers dislodging rider J Baker. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, all monies invested on the gelding were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 3:09pm.

19c for the win
16c for the place on the winner
16c for 2nd
16c for 3rd

Trainer W Baker was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to again being permitted to start in a race.

Rider J Baker was attended to by QAS officers and cleared of any injuries.

ACEDROD – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TIME TO TESTIFY – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced wide throughout.

MUIRON - Raced wide throughout.


Race 5: ROMA SANDS OPEN HANDICAP 1200m

SUNFALL – Approaching the 100m was bumped on the hindquarters by LEGISLATE when that runner improved into a narrow run between SUNFALL and KEENZAP.

KEENZAP – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

TERAMBI – Raced wide throughout.

LEGISLATE – Began awkwardly and was slow away. Bumped with SUNFALL approaching the 100m.
