GENERAL
Stewards permitted the following over weights:
Race 1: HIDDEN EYES +.50kg (56.5kg)
Race 3:ROX’N’ROL +.50kg (56.5kg)
The following runners were scratched by order of Stewards at 10:04am after being unable to attend the race meeting as a result of an incident which occurred when loading the horses onto transport prior to the meeting.

RACE 1: HORNICK'S CYPRESS OPEN HANDICAP 1000 M
FLANK SPEED – Began awkwardly.
TURNSTAR – Hung in under pressure in the home straight.
RACE 2: ROMA SANDS BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1200 M
STECARA – Knuckled on jumping and was slow into stride. When questioned, apprentice K Barker stated after beginning awkwardly, was obliged to race further back than anticipated, however was happy with how the mare finished off. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
SIR OCCY – Shifted wider at the 700m to avoid the kick back.
JEROME – Reared on jumping and bucked for a short distance and took no competitive part in the race. Trainer W Baker was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
STORM DREAMER –Rider P Randall reported his mount felt awkward in its action and elected to ease the mare down from the 500m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be lame in the right foreleg. Trainer W Baker was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again.
MUIRON – Raced wide throughout.
RACE 3: FARE DENTURE CLINIC BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1200 M
KAZZA'S JET – Bumped heavily on jumping, became momentarily unbalanced and was slow to muster early speed.
AREYA TUCHUZY – Began awkwardly.
ROX'N'ROL – Began awkwardly shifting out bumping heavily with KAZZA’S JET. Rider J Baker elected to ease his mount out of the event when he believed something may have been amiss with the mare after he heard unusual breathing noises. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer W Baker was advised the mare would need to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
RACE 4: SANTOS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
The start of this race was delayed when MISS IMPRESSIVE reared in the barriers resulting in one leg becoming cast in the front barrier partition for some time before breaking free and running a short distance before being recaptured. MISS IMPRESSIVE was declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 3:33pm. All other runners were unloaded and reloaded following the incident. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, all monies invested on the mare were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 3:33pm.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have right forelimb lacerations and lameness. Trainer J Taylor was advised the mare would require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again and would also need to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
Trainer J Taylor advised Stewards the mare would most likely be retired from racing.
SAMPHIRE GREEN (IRE) – Stood flat footed. Trainer R Hay was advised the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
FEISTY LEGEND – Stewards accepted the reasons for the late declaration of rider. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MISS RAPIDE - Raced wide throughout. Trainer W Baker was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for being difficult to load.
PERFECT WORK – Began awkwardly.
RACE 5: SUMMIT EARTH RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1000 M
As a result of the delay in race 4, this race was rescheduled to run at 4:12pm.
BAG OF WHITT – Rider J Baker dismounted shortly after the winning post due to feeling unwell, he was examined by QAS officers and cleared to fulfill his remaining engagement.
THE RATTLESNAKE – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
SILVANNA'S SONG – Raced wide throughout.
LIGHT UP THE DAWN – Raced wide throughout.
LAYLAH'S WISH – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure rounding the home straight.
RACE 6: CRAWFOS TYRES BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1640 M
PACKAGE – Slow to begin.
DESERT STAR – Slow to begin. Over-raced early and middle stages.
NOTQUITELIKEJACK – Shifted out on jumping bumping ONOMATOPOEIA and then when approaching the 1000m point bumped again with ONOMATOPOEIA. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. Trainer R Kerwin was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again. Trainer R Kerwin advised Stewards that the gelding would like mostly be retired from racing.
ONOMATOPOEIA – Bumped at the start by NOTQUITELIKEJACK and then again near the 1000m point.
VICTORY BEANS – Raced wide throughout.
