PESHWA- Approaching the 900m laid out marginally and bumped LUCKY FORCE.

MON PIERRE- Bumped with ABLETT shortly after the start. Approaching the 900m Jockey T Banks permitted his mount to shift in while racing in a three wide position tightening LUCKY FORCE with the rider having to take hold as a result of the incident, Jockey T Banks was Reprimanded by Stewards under the provision of AR131(a) for careless riding. On returning to scale Jockey T Banks reported to stewards that when approaching the 300m LUCKY FORCE was permitted by the rider to shift out, bumping him and taking his rightful running. Jockey Banks advised that because of the incident MON PIERRE was bumped sideways and he was forced to take hold and straighten his mount. He believed that as a result of this incident his mount could not be fully tested over the final stages of the event. Stewards inquired into the incident hearing evidence from all parties involved. Regrettably, the footage available to Stewards on the day was inconclusive and failed to highlight any one rider being responsible for any inconvenience. All riders were advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.

ABLETT- Bumped with MON PIERRE after the start was affected. Approaching the 300m was tightened, becoming unbalanced with the rider having to take hold as a result of a shift out from a horse to her outside.

Race 4: LOMUR QTIS CLASS 4 HANDICAP 1200M

TERAMBI- Began awkwardly.

LUNAR EIGHT- Dipped at the start and as a result raced towards the rear of the field for some distance. Improved into the race from the 300m while racing in a three wide position and ran on well over the final stages of the event. Trainer Mr W Baker advised he was disappointed in the run, he felt that once it missed the start and was tailed off early, the horse was placed at a significant disadvantage as its racing pattern was to lead in its races. However, he was happy with the way the mare had finished off the race. Stewards noted Mr Baker’s comments.

CEEKAY’S CHOICE- Began to weaken shortly after entering the home straight and raced disappointingly from that point despite the urgings of the rider to improve. A post-race veterinary examination was undertaken with no abnormalities being detected.

HEROIC BEACH- Stewards sought comment from Stable representative Mrs K Kropp regarding the performance of the mare at today’s meeting. Mrs Kropp advised that horse was never comfortable in the track conditions today and would likely improve from this run. Stewards noted her comments.
