Due to the seemingly poor performance of the gelding a post-race veterinary examination was ordered. This examination failed to detect any significant findings. Trainer Ms G Doig reported that the horse may have got his tongue over the bit in transit, and this may have led to the performance today. Stewards noted Ms Doig’s comments. Due to the 21.5 length margin Stewards placed a Warning on the gelding for the poor performance under the provision of AR75. Trainer G Doig was notified.
FOR THE BRAVE- The rider S Wilcock reported to stewards that she dropped her whip over the final stages of the event preventing her from testing her mount out over the concluding stages. Lost near side rear plate in running.
