Race 7: TAB VENUE MODE Class 1 Handicap 1600 metres

Prior to the declaration of correct weight a protest was lodged by L Dittman the rider of the second horse EDMONTON alleging interference by the winner ECCENTRIC over the concluding stages. After taking evidence from the relevant parties, stewards upheld the objection as they were satisfied that ECCENTRIC had shifted out under pressure and initiated heavy contact with EDMONTON causing that horse to become unbalanced at a point near the 50m and furthermore that the interference suffered was sufficient to reverse the placings given the official short half head margin between these two runners.

Yulong Status – Shifted out near the 200m in order to secure clear running and in doing so bumped with I AM SUPERIOR.
