GENERAL
 
As this meeting was transferred from the Gold Coast turf club, changes to the distances of some races were changed as follows-
 
Race 4- Was 1800m, now 2000m.
Race 5- Was 900m, now 1000m.
Race 6- Was 2200, now 2150m.
Race 8- Was 1200m, now 1100m.
 
Stewards approved the following overweight allowance at today’s meeting-
 
Race 4- READ MY FUTURE- B Loy +1/2kg
 
Race 1: THE GREAT NORTHERN Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden
Plate 1100 metres
 
The start of this event was delayed when MR CICCOLINA underwent a vet inspection and was cleared to start.
 
ANDIAMO EAGLE – Shifted out abruptly near the 50m.
 
MISTA OMEGA – Slow to begin. Held up during the early stages of the home straight before shifting out near the 300m to secure clear running and bumped with MR CICCOLINA.
 
MR CICCOLINA – Raced wide without cover throughout. Bumped and became unbalanced when MISTA OMEGA shifted out to secure clear running.
 
 
Race 2: BUNDABERG RUM Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1100 metres
 
EXHIBITOR – Slow to begin.
 
O'MISS BEHAVING – Apprentice L Kilner was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
POIGNANT – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Jockey T Harrison was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
FRENCH ENUFF – Slow to begin.
 
LOVELIER – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAURICE'S STAR – Jockey L Cassidy was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
Race 3: SUNTORY-196 QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
STATE A FACT- Declared a late scratching by order of Stewards at 9:40am after being found to be lame by the stable when preparing to be transported to the track.
 
MISHANI MISSILE – Slow to begin.
 
OUR DRUMMER – Declared a late scratching by order of stewards at 12:46pm after being injury in the float en-route to the track
 
SIZZLING SAMURAI – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
MOET ICE – Over-raced and obliged to race wide until the 800m
 
NOAH 'N' A DEEL – Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Race 4: SHAKE YOUR TAILS COCKTAILS Class 4 Handicap 2000 metres
 
READ MY FUTURE – Over-raced during the early and middle stages.
 
CREME DE VIN – Raced wide during the early stages before being permitted to stride forward to the lead passing the 1200m. Post-race vet examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 5: XXXX ZERO Class 3 Plate 1000 metres
 
NEVER PAID – Apprentice Wilson-Taylor reported that in his opinion the gelding did not handle the synthetic racing surface, as it failed to respond to pressure over the concluding stages.
 
PERSEIDS – Slow to begin and hampered shortly after the start. Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn. Laid in under pressure over the final 200m.
 
BOOM ROCKER – Lost the off fore plate in running.
 
HEAD ON UP – Raced wide without cover.
 
TIKKA READY – Raced wide.
 
PALAWA KANI – Held up for clear running when rounding the home turn and until leaving the 300m.
 
 
Race 6: HEADLINE ACTS BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 2150 metres
 
ACCESSORY – Over-raced during the early stages.
 
HEAD UP HIGH – Bumped when ELEGANT DROVER shifted out near the 400m.
 
QUOTANT – Began awkwardly.
 
ELEGANT DROVER – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and shifted out to secure clear running bumping with HEAD UP HIGH.
 
 
Race 7: CUB PREMIUM BEVERAGES Class 1 Handicap 1400 metres
 
NOT GUILTY - Jockey L Innes was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 7 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
THAT'LLDOTOO – Slow to begin. Jockey J Murphy was reprimanded under AR 132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100m.
 
 
NO NAY JUBILEE  – Post-race vet examination revealed the horse to be lame in the near hind leg. Connections were advised that a vet certificate will be required prior to racing again.
 
SPLIT JETE – Raced wide without cover.
 
 
Race 8: INDEPENDENT LIQUOR GROUP BENCHMARK 65 Handicap 1100 metres
 
Start of this event was delayed when GOLDSCHLAGER lost a plate en-route to the barriers and had to be reshod.
 
MAGIC IN ME– Hung out rounding the home turn and when under pressure in the home straight.
 
CAMPAI – Saddle shifted back badly during the early stages and as a result the filly raced extremely wide and was unable to be tested throughout the event.
