SUNDAY 8TH MARCH 2026

WEATHER – Showers      TRACK RATING –  Synthetic          RAIL – True

OFFICIALS

Stewards – A. Schofield (Chair), J Adams, H Matthews & P Reardon
Clerk of Scales – S Fletcher

GENERAL

Stewards declared BRAVE BOY a late scratching in race 4 at 10:09am by order of stewards after the gelding was found to be cast in its stable. Trainer G. Allard was advised BRAVE BOY would require a veterinary certificate prior to accepting for a future jump out, trial or race.

RACE 1: COTTON TREE MEATS MAIDEN PLATE     1000 Metres

RALOS STAR – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight. Approaching the 100m, lost the near hind bandage. Cast the off hind plate in running.

TRIP HAZARD – Fractious in the barriers, began awkwardly and as a result was slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages.

CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ) - Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having raced at the Sunshine Coast on Friday the 6th of March 2026 and was cleared to start. Began awkwardly. When asked to comment on CLIODHNA MAEVE (NZ)’s performance, rider T. Brooker stated that the mare travelled well, however failed to respond to her riding in the home straight and proved disappointing.

TORQUE TOO EASY – Underwent a resaddle on arrival to the barriers. Began awkwardly. Jockey B. Thompson reported his mount took an awkward stride passing the winning post the first time.

RACE 2: CREATIVE STONE QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE     1100 Metres

MR BRITE – Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

PEANUTS – Near the 600m, steadied from heels. Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.

MISHANI PLAYER – Made the corner at the 600m awkwardly and shifted wider. Apprentice O. Kendall was reminded of her obligations when using her whip when out of contention.

Following the running of race 2, the riding group raised concerns regarding the surface water and visibility and the decision was made to postpone the remainder of the meeting at 1.30pm.
