RACE 1:BOLD CONSTRUCTION GROUP MAIDEN PLATE 1400 M

 
CLENCH (NZ) – Near the 250m, obliged to race in restricted room between HARD KNOX and PROBLEMATICAL, which shifted out to obtain clear running.

HARD KNOX - Rider J. Bayliss pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 9 occasions prior to the 100m and 15 occasions in totality. Rider J. Bayliss’ licence to ride in races was subsequently suspended for a period of seven (7) days, commencing midnight 17/05/2026 until midnight 24/05/2026.

WATCHYA LANGUAGE – Bumped at the start.

MADAM GRISELDA – Began awkwardly and bumped WATCHYA LANGUAGE.

 
 
RACE 2:HIGGINS COATINGS CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1600 M


VREDEFORT (NZ) – Apprentice R. Thorburn was reprimanded pursuant to AR143(14)(a) for failing to claim his full allowance (1kg of 2kg).

ROARING SUCCESS – Over-raced in the early stages. Raced three-wide without cover throughout.



RACE 3:KEVLACAT POWER BOATS AUSTRALIA MAIDEN PLATE (QTIS BONUSES APPLICABLE 2&3YO'S ONLY) 1000 M


EXOBRAZEN – Began awkwardly. Raced three-wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.       
 
KING OF VALHALLA – Began awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

SHALAA STRIKE – Began awkwardly.
 
YOU DRIVE ME CRAZY – Raced three-wide throughout.     
 
BLUE SKIES AHEAD – Began awkwardly.       



RACE 4:KENNARDS HIRE BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1000 M


RICH MINX – Near the 150m, became awkward when struck with the whip and shifted in. Lost its near-fore plate.  
 
THANKYOU HENRY – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages and made contact with HEART AND SPIRIT as a result.

HEART AND SPIRIT – Began awkwardly. Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Apprentice S. Tierney was struck on the right arm by rider B. Thompson over the concluding stages when THANKYOU HENRY laid out under pressure. Lost its near-hind plate.      

FAST FUSION – Inclined to hang out in the middle stages.

JUNGLE FEVER – Slow to begin.



RACE 5:CREATIVE STONE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1100 M


BALTRAY – Raced three-wide with cover throughout.
 
DECADAD – Bumped at the start. Raced three-wide without cover throughout. Rider S. Sheargold reported his mount raced greenly under pressure.
 
PAPER COWBOY – Shifted out on jumping and bumped DECADAD.

FITZROY STREET (NZ) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.

CAUSEWAYS – Slow to begin. Checked near the 200m when CALVARY (App. L. Martyn) shifted out. Apprentice L. Martyn, rider of CALVARY, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 200m, she permitted her mount to shift out when insufficiently clear of CAUSEWAYS, resulting in that runner having to check and lose its rightful running. Apprentice L. Martyn’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of nine (9) days, commencing midnight 02/06/2026 until midnight 11/06/2026.
 
TIME TO CRY – Rider C. Graham reported that her mount laid in under pressure.

CALVARY – Held up from approaching the 200m until near the 150m.          


RACE 6:SHERRIN RENTALS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1400 M


NORWEGIAN JOY (NZ) – Over-raced in the early stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed an abnormal respiratory noise.

PRIVALOVA - Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
 
KRUMAC – Over-raced in the early stages. Near the 1000m, shifted out forcing THE LOVE OF MARY wider. Continued to over-race and near the 800m, again shifted out, forcing THE LOVE OF MARY wider. Raced three-wide from that point onwards.

MAKAMAE (NZ) – Began awkwardly.

THE LOVE OF MARY – Forced wider near the 800m and 1000m and raced four-wide from that point onwards.   



RACE 7:HEIGHT 4 HIRE BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1400 M


WARNA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after making contact with the gate on leaving the enclosure. Raced wide throughout.
 
PIREONTI – Slow to begin.
 
FULL STRENGTH – Shifted out and bumped JOTOPELI at the start. Raced wide throughout.

DECIMUS – Raced wide throughout.     
 
JOTOPELI – Bumped at the start. Raced three-wide throughout without cover.         
 
NORTH CHANNEL  - Slow to begin.



RACE 8:TAB CLASS 1 PLATE & MAIDEN PLATE 2000 M


CLIVE'S GLORY – Bumped at the start. Held up rounding the home turn.

BOLERO – Hampered and lost ground at the start. Raced wide from the 900m.
 
EVADE THE GAME – Passing the winning post on the first occasion, commenced to over-race and at a point near the 1600m, commenced to hang out. Continued to do so resulting in the saddle shifting forward at a point near the 1300m. Jockey J. Bayliss then restrained the mare out of the event. Trainer P. Jenkins was advised EVADE THE GAME would be required to Officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Trainer P. Jenkins advised stewards that the horse would now be sent for a spell and he would experiment with the horse’s gear prior to racing again.

SHIP HAPPENS – Obliged to shift out and be steadied near the 1300m to avoid EVADE THE GAME when that horse was hanging severely. Raced three-wide from that point onwards.
 
BENZINO – Shifted out on jumping and bumped CLIVE’S GLORY, which in turn shifted out and hampered BOLERO. Apprentice R. Thorburn advised that his mount was inclined to over-race and hang out throughout and therefore allowed his mount to stride forward.

MONTEVECCHIO – Began awkwardly. Laid in from approaching the 600m.    
 
STAR ANTHEM – Slow to begin and lost ground
