SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

Jockey R. Fradd was fined $100 following his manager accepting rides when jockey Fradd had no intention of riding.

Trainer D. Roberts reported that Stay Schtum had choked down after competing in the above event, and he will be adding a tongue-tie to the horse’s gear for its next race start.



Race 1: Coastline BMW 3 Series Benchmark 95 H'cap – 2200m

The explanation put forward by trainer L. Paton for the late declaration of a rider for Legsman by the prescribed time was accepted.

PUTAPAVONIT – Raced wide until passing the 1600m.

UTMOST FAITH – Overraced in the middle stages.

TRY FOUR – Held up for clear running from upon entering the home straight until passing the 200m.

LEGSMAN – Forced wider on the track approaching the 100m.

DOUBLE IMPACT – Trainer J. Crompton was questioned regarding the instructions given to apprentice C. Schmidt. She stated that prior to this preparation the instructions to all riders had been to find cover. She added she was surprised to see the gelding back at the rear of the field after travelling a short distance as this was not her intention how the horse should be ridden. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress.


Race 2: Coastline BMW X5 Benchmark 80 H'cap – 1000m

NICKIERA – Slow to begin. Raced ungenerously and hung out rounding the home turn.

NATURAL DANCER – Fractious in the barriers and then was slow to begin. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

JET DOWN ON IT – Bumped on jumping away.

LISA FASHIONISTA – Bumped on jumping away.

TOM’S LUCK – Bumped a short distance after the start.

TREATMELIKEALADY – Bumped a short distance after the start.

CRAIGLEA CRUZ – Hung in under pressure in the home straight, placing its rider at a disadvantage in fully testing the horse.


Race 3: HMR Projects QTIS 3yo H'cap – 1800m

RICH REWARD – Underwent a veterinary examination prior the start of this race and was cleared to start.

SPUR LE JOUER – Commenced to pull hard and had to be steadied away from heels approaching the 1200m.

GLORIOUS RED – Overraced approaching the 1000m. Rider M. Cahill had his whip accidentally knock from his grasp near the 200m.

RECKLESS ABANDON – Momentarily held up approaching the home turn.

LOVEITT – Stewards afforded jockey J. Byrne the opportunity to comment on the disappointing performance of the filly. He stated it raced flat today and was unable to accelerate when placed under pressure near the 600m and only finished the race off fairly. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.



Race 4: Coastline BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe Benchmark 90 H'cap – 1600m

DANAGAZE – Slow to begin.

HLUDOWIG – Jumped away awkwardly.

MY QUILTER – Overraced in the early and middle stages.

DAPH ‘N’ ALF – Lost its off side winker near the 1200m.

ELMANTOSH – Laid in under pressure in the straight.

MAGIC IN MOTION – Raced wide throughout.

VANDALISED – Jockey B. Stewart was fined $200 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.


Race 5: Coastline BMW 5 Series F&M Class 6 H'cap – 1400m

The explanation put forward from trainer G. Blade for the late declaration of rider for BILLABONG BIRD was accepted.

SEA RED – Slow to begin.

LITTLE BIT DITSY – Stood flatfooted at the start and lost considerable ground.

TALON LADY – Overraced in the early stages.

CORUBA QUEEN – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight. Raced 3 wide throughout.

DIAMOND FUND – Jockey R. Wiggins was fined $200 for using his whip more than the permitted amount prior to the 100m.


Race 6: Coastline BMW Racing Minister’s 2yo Classic QTIS 2yo Plate – 1200m

WICKED INVESTMENT – The start was delayed after the horse lost a plate during the preliminary and had to be replated at the barriers. Slow to begin.

PEPPERANO – Jumped away awkwardly. Clipped the heels of another runner which shifted in inside the 300m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

MISANI HONCHO – Tightened for room on jumping away.

MOST IMPORTANT – Jumped away awkwardly and bumped at start.

FLAMENCO GIRL – Hampered at the start.

REAL GOOD – Overraced in the middle stages.

RIGHT OF WAY – Inclined to shift out under pressure and bumped near the 200m.

MOST IMPORTANT – Bumped near the 200m.

DAM WONDERFUL – Shifted in abruptly after being hampered near the 300m.

IN HIS STRIDE – Jockey R. McMahon was reprimanded for shifting out near the 300m when not fully clear causing interference.

NEW WINGS – Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.

BANDA SPICE – A post race veterinary examination of revealed mild heat stress.


Race 7: Coastline BMW 2 Series Active Tourer Open H'cap – 1200m

FACILE TIGRE – Connections advised that the gelding would be ridden in a more forward position if circumstances permit.

EXCELLANTES – Rider A. Collett reported that on jumping away her mount made contact with the starting gate and as a result she lost the use of her off-side stirrup, becoming unbalanced and being dislodged. Following the event, the horse made contact with a gate near the 1800m shute and suffered lacerations and abrasions, which required treatment from the veterinary surgeon.

TAMBO’S JEWEL – Slow to begin.

G’DAY OLD MATE – Slow to begin.

BLACK CASH – Steadied from heels near the 800m. Again steadied from heels near the 500m.

LIVING ON A PRAYER – Shifted in near the 800m, causing tightening, and again shifted in near the 500m, inconveniencing another runner. B. Appo was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in relation to both incidents.

HAPPY GALAXY – Shifted out near the 500m, causing another runner to be steadied.

PRO CONSUL – Rider G. Colless was questioned regarding his riding out of the horse over the concluding stages. He stated that after improving to the inside of Happy Galaxy he immediately placed his mount under pressure by hands and heels riding and felt his mount was responding to that riding without resorting to the use of the whip. He added that he did use the whip in a forehand manner 5 times prior to the winning. His explanation was noted.

FACILE TIGRE - A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from heat stress.


Race 8: Coastline BMW X6 Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 6 H'cap – 1400m

On return to scale a protest was lodged by T. Bell, rider of the 2nd placegetter, Eight’s A Party, against Lock’s Legend being declared the winner, alleging interference rounding the home turn. After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the stewards’ patrol video, stewards found at this stage of the event EIGHT’S A PARTY, when steadying, shifted to the inside of LOCK’S LEGEND, whereby EIGHTY’S A PARTY became unbalanced and got its head up. Stewards could not be satisfied that EIGHT’S A PARTY had obtained the run between NOT TOO SURE and LOCK’S LEGEND and therefore dismissed the objection and correct weight was semaphored on the Judge’s placings.

FAST ARROW – Slow to begin.

RHYTHM ‘N’ RAP – Crowded between runners leaving the 400m and when being steadied became unbalanced.

RHYTHM ‘N’ RAP – Raced wide throughout.

NOT TOO SURE – Trainer N. McCall reported that the horse had pulled up distressed.
