SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Deagon Offices 13.4.15: Trainer D. Murphy pleaded guilty to contravening AR. 86B, AR. 87 and AR. 87B(1) in that on two occasions whilst mounted on a horse he was not wearing appropriate safety gear, safety helmet and vest and was also wearing inappropriate footwear. Mr Murphy was fined $400.

From Ipswich 25.3.15 – Race 7: Trainer M. Lakey reported to stewards that subsequent to the disappointing performance of EVERYBODY HAPPY, the mare was exhibiting soreness in the near foreleg.

Race 1: SLADE BLOODSTOCK QTIS 3YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M

The start of this race was delayed when GOLDEN MINESHAFT proved difficult to load.

DUPORTH JACK – Shifted out to obtain clear running approaching the 400m and in doing so made heavy contact with another runner.

KAIZARI – Buffeted by another runner and forced wider approaching the 400m.

KNIGHT ERRANT – Connections advised that the intention will be to have the horse ridden positively out of the barriers. After being ridden forward in the early stages, the horse settled in a handy position three wide without cover.

OMEGA – Raced three wide throughout.

GOLDEN MINESHAFT – Proved difficult to load. Trainer P. Duncan was advised that a warning would be placed on the filly. Had to be checked soon after the start when tightened for room between runners.

LAKE VICTORIA – Trainer M. Goodwin was fined $100 for presenting the horse to race in incorrect gear. Improved on to heels approaching the 600m and had to be restrained.

SILK AND SATIN – Jumped away awkwardly and made heavy contact with another runner. Steadied from heels near the 600m.

Race 2: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS QTIS 2YO H’CAP – 1300M

PATRONIZING – Overraced in the early stages.

FLYING SAND – Apprentice K. Stanley pleaded guilty to a charge under AR. 137(b) of failing to ride her mount out to the end of the race and was fined $400. In determining penalty, stewards were not comfortably satisfied that apprentice Stanley’s actions had cost the horse 2nd placing.

BOTTEGA LOUIE – Bumped heavily with another runner at the start.

CURTAILMENT – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden towards the rear of the field. After beginning well CURTAILMENT pulled hard in the early stages and was allowed to stride forward to the lead. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

LADY ATHENA – Slow to begin.

TRUE SAGA – Bumped heavily with another runner at the start.

Race 3: CALOUNDRA CUP 16 MAY 2015 MAIDEN PLATE – 1300M

DECIBEL DAN – Overraced in the early stages.

HERE HE IS – Hung out for a major part of the race and near the 500m had to be restrained from heels. Trainer D. Murphy was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.

MOSS HARRY – Held up rounding the home turn and was obliged to alter course after passing the 350m to secure clear running.

RED’S THE GO – Severely hampered at the start when tightened between runners. Overraced in the early stages. Checked near the 800m when tightened for room.

DHAHAB – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in abruptly. Raced three wide without cover.

Race 4: LADIES OAKS DAY 29 MAY 2015 F&M 0-70 H’CAP – 1200M

Correct weight was delayed to allow J. Lloyd, the rider of 2nd placegetter DEVIL MISS, to view the stewards’ patrol footage to ascertain whether he had grounds to lodge an objection against the winner SATIRICAL LASS. After viewing the videos, J. Lloyd declined to lodge an objection and correct weight was declared on the Judge’s placings.

MOON AND THE STARS – Had difficulty securing clear running over the concluding stages.

SATIRICAL LASS – Knuckled badly soon after the start. Sustained a minor laceration to the outside of the near fore pastern.

DEVIL MISS – Dictated inwards leaving the 100m.

BRACIDAME – Tightened for room leaving the 100m when DEVIL MISS was dictated inwards by SATIRICAL LASS, made contact with the running rail and had to be checked. Apprentice Fancourt pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding for allowing SATIRICAL LASS to shift in at that point, causing the interference. A. Fancourt’s licence to ride in races was suspended for a period of 6 meetings, to commence at midnight on Saturday, 18 April, and expire at midnight on Saturday, 2 May 2015.

Race 5: WIMMERS SOFT DRINKS MAIDEN H'CAP – 2200M

KOBI CREEK – Allowed to stride forward to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1000m when the pace was slow in the middle stages.

TEQUILA SLAMMER – Hampered at the start. Bumped by another runner near the 400m.

DEFINE CHRONIC – Hung in rounding the home turn and bumped another runner.

SLALOM – Blundered at the start and lost ground. Had to be checked from heels passing the 600m.

ATOMIC AGE – Tightened for room and struck the running rail near the 500m.

SO INCLINED – Had to be checked after passing the 500m when tightened for room between TEQUILA SLAMMER and BULLDOG’S PRIDE (L. Dittman), which shifted out to avoid the heels of a tiring runner.

A MONEY TRAIL – Trainer J. Brown was advised that due to the horse being uncompetitive, the gelding will be ineligible to compete at metropolitan venues until such time as it establishes improved form.

Race 6: LINKED GROUP PLUMBING C,G&E 0-70 H’CAP – 1200M

BABUR – Weakened badly in the home straight. J. Byrne reported that his mount failed to respond to his riding from the 600m and was disappointing, which he attributed to not being entirely comfortable on the soft track. He added that in his opinion the gelding would take a fitness benefit from today’s race. Trainer M. Wilson confirmed that BABUR was not entirely comfortably on rain-affected tracks and added that due to the recent wet weather the gelding has missed track gallops and would derive benefit from today’s race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

SKYTASTIC – Slow to begin.

SMASHER – Jumped away awkwardly. G. Colless could offer no explanation for the horse’s disappointing performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off hind leg. Trainer R. Heathcote was advised that he will be required to produce a veterinary clearance for the horse prior to its next start.

Race 7: JLP FABRICATION CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1000M

PANTHERESS – Apprentice L. Dittman reported that after travelling well to the home turn outside the lead he thought the horse was a competitive chance in the race, however when asked for a response, weakened badly in the home straight and felt the horse may have been awkward in its action in front. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

STELLARCRAFT – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.

ONE IN ONE OUT – Raced wide throughout. M. Cahill reported that the horse was inclined to lay out rounding the home turn and then laid in under pressure in the home straight.

RED DIAMONDS – Jumped awkwardly, shifted out and bumped another runner. Raced wide throughout.

CLASSIC BEND – Hampered when bumped heavily at the start.

PEZENAS – Obliged to alter course and shift out to secure clear running near the 100m.

Race 8: HIGGINS COATINGS CLASS 5 H'CAP – 1600M

PAT’S BOY – Had to alter course to secure clear running near the 300m and again had to be steadied near the 200m when disappointed for a run.

HORA SEXTA – Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight until altering course to the outside of the heels of STUBOY near the 250m.

Race 9: BOSS BUILDING MAINTENANCE PTY LTD CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1400M

SIMPLY CHANEL, which was fractious in the barriers, was removed and underwent a veterinary examination. On the advice of the veterinary surgeon that the mare had sustained a laceration to the off hind pastern, SIMPLY CHANEL was a late scratching at 4.09 p.m. Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SIMPLY CHANEL be refunded, with the following deductions to apply to successful wagers:

1 cent in the dollar for the Win #2
1 cent in the dollar for place of winner #2
4 cents in the dollar for 2nd place #7
3 cents in the dollar for 3rd place #5

NO PROBLEM – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Hung out for a major part of the race. After the gelding commenced to hang out, the saddle slipped down to the offside and placed the rider at a severe disadvantage until entering the home straight when apprentice Stanley elected to remove her feet from the irons and then the gelding took no competitive part in the event.

FELTRE – Held up for clear running in the home straight until near the 150m.

MY LAST FLING – Shifted out to secure clear running leaving the 200m and in doing so made contact with WATER KISS. MY LAST FLING then continued to race in restricted room and over the concluding stages was tightened for room and had to be steadied when racing between WATER KISS and NEUSCHWANSTEIN, which shifted out slightly.

WATER KISS – Slow to begin. Shifted wider by another runner leaving the 200m.

TARTAN WARRIOR – Taken wider passing the 800m.

Race 10: AMBASSADOR TRAVEL CLASS 3 H'CAP – 1400M

LAUTERBRUNNEN – Shifted out and bumped another runner near the 400m. G. Colless reported to stewards that the gelding travelled well throughout until a point near the 400m where it failed to respond when placed under pressure and proved disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.

IN MASQUERADE – Bumped by another runner near the 400m.

SATIRICAL BOY – Slow to begin.

MACKA’S BACK – Unable to secure a clear run in the early part of the home straight.

TEARS – A post-race veterinary examination revealed no significant findings.
