GENERAL

As L. Dittman was indisposed, riding changes were made as per the Stewards' Summary Sheet.

As no other suitable apprentice was available, permission was granted to apprentice S. Fawke to claim only 2 of his 3 kilogram allowance (1 kg over his declared riding weight) in Race 6 and Race 8. S. Fawke was fined $400.

Due to significant traffic delays riders were not on course at weigh-out time and as a result the Race 1 was rescheduled back 7 minutes to start at 12.20 pm.

As a result of the on-going traffic delay, the below trainers requested the scratchings of the following horses:

Race 3. Chris Anderson – Wilfies Lady – 12.30 pm
Helen Van Hoeyen – Jue Jue Angel – 12.35 pm
Kevin Kemp – Ghost Rock – 12.40 pm


Race 1: Hahn Super Dry Maiden Plate - 1200

DETROIT WORLD – As M. Hellyer’s arrival at the course was delayed, G. Goold was substituted as the rider of the horse.

INFINITE – A. Allen was fined $100 for using his whip more than 5 times prior to the 100m.

SALMANAZAR – Slow to begin.

BECKONING LIGHT – Slow to begin.

ITARA – Checked from heels when overracing near the 700m.

DETROIT WORLD – Inconvenienced and carried wider near the 700m.


Race 2: XXXX Summer Bright Class 3 H'cap – 1600m

PERCY ON PARADE – Slow to begin.

ELECTRIC DEE JAY – Slow to begin.


Race 3: XXXX Gold Maiden H'cap – 1600m

GHOST ROCK – Declared a late scratching at 12.40 due to traffic delays.

WULFIES LADY – Declared a late scratching at 12.30 due to traffic delays.

JUE JUE NGEL - Declared a late scratching at 12.35 due to traffic delays.

ABLE BOY – Due to the non-arrival of J. Taylor, N. Thomas was substituted as the rider of the horse.

PASSION IN FLIGHT – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure.

ROSS RI VER - Slow to begin.

ROMANOV – Raced wide in the early stages.

TAHITIAN FLYER – Raced wide in the early stages.

SPLENDID STRYKER – Lost its near hind plate in running.


Race 4: James Squire QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1000m

CASINO DREAMZ – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $100 for failing to present the Document of Description for the horse.

SEBRING FLING – Slow to begin.

IONA FLASH – Slow to begin.

FIERY HEIGHTS – Slow to begin. Steadied and shifted in on straightening to obtain clear running

LETTER OF CHARM – Began awkwardly. Raced greenly in the early and middle stages.

OUR RACKETEER – Awkwardly placed close to heels on straightening.

CASINO DREAMZ – Bumped on straightening. Raced wide without cover.

ZHUKOVA – Raced wide without cover.


Race 5: Hahn Super Dry 3.5 Class 1 H'cap – 1000m

THE YES MAN – Jockey K. Wharton was stood down by the doctor after riding in Race 1 and was replaced by N. Thomas. Steadied when crowded near the 700m.

PRINCE RAHEEB – Began awkwardly.

KEEP ON ROCKING – Began awkwardly.

RAPID ARROW – Slow into stride. Rider A. Taylor dropped her whip near the 100m.

KNIGHTWICK MANOR – Raced in restricted room for some distance after the 500m. Crowded for room near the 200m.

CERTIFICATION – Had to be steadied on straightening when racing awkwardly inside heels.

FIERY MISS – Awkwardly placed close to heels near the 150m.


Race 6: Corona Class 1 H'cap – 1400m

LAREBIL – Jockey K. Wharton was stood down by the doctor after riding in Race 1 and replaced by B Appo.

SENOR CARLOS – Began very awkwardly.

CIRCUIT BREAKER – Began very awkwardly.

GAME OF FAME – Bumped at the start.

LAREBIL – Hampered slightly near the 250m and then passing the 200m steadied when disappointed for clear running. A short distance later had to be shifted back to the inside to secure clear running.


Race 7: The Gorgeous Class 5 H'cap – 1200m

FAST ARROW – Got its head to the side when standing awkwardly in the barriers, was slow to begin and lost ground.

BROTHERLY SECRET – Began very awkwardly and lost ground.
Race 8: XXXX Class 2 H'cap – 1200m

GOLDEN MINESHAFT – Jockey D. Browne was stood down by the doctor and was replaced by apprentice B. Stower when no suitable senior rider was available.

PARTY SPIN – Slow into stride and shortly after blundered after striking the heels of GOLDEN MINESHAFT, which shifted out slightly.

DIDDY WIN DIDDY – Began awkwardly.

HIDDEN ROAD – Overraced in the early stages and got its head up. Hung out on the turns.

SAGA OF THE STORM – Steadied when crowded for room near the 900m. Held up between the 200m and 100m.

SNAPPY ONE – Checked from heels near the 900m.

BIG GREEN PONY – Overraced in the early stages.

SUPREME JOY – Overraced in the early stages.

BALAKLAVA – Raced 3 wide. Taken wider on the home turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration of the off hind fetlock.
