After the running of this event, stewards discussed with the riders engaged in Race 4 safety concerns due to the ongoing heavy rain. Riders indicated that they were satisfied given the small number of runners (7) that they were content to fulfil their engagements and ride to the conditions. Following these discussions stewards inspected the racing surface and had significant concerns with a number of sections of the track and given the continuing rain, which had already been in excess of 40 mls since 11 am, stewards abandoned the meeting at 1.35 pm.
