Trainer D. Forster reported that Rock Garden had an abscess to the off cheek on return her stable, which may explain the reason for the mare hanging out.

Trainer N. McCall was fined $100 for failing to declare riders for Sicario (Race 4) and Tammany Hall (Race 7).
Race 1: Scott McMahon Electrical Maiden H’cap – 1800m
No incidents.
Race 2: Boss Building Maintenance Pty Ltd QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1400m
NASHVILLE SKYLINE – Held up at the entrance to the straight for clear running, then shifted out abruptly near the 300m.
Race 3: Schultz Toomey O’Brien Lawyers Part of Slater & Gordon Class 2 H'cap – 1600m
MADLUCE MISSILE – Slow to begin.
SHE GOES POP – After leaving the 400m, attempted to improve to the outside of the heels of another runner and was prevented from doing so by PORTSEA, which raced close to its outside. SHE GOES POP then had some difficulty obtaining clear running until after passing the 200m.
Race 4: Bassett Barks Pty Ltd Maiden Plte – 1400m
SICARIO - Trainer N. McCall was fined the sum of $100 for failing to declare riders for Sicario and Tammany Hall (Race 7). Shifted out to avoid heels after leaving the 300m.
VIVI GRANDA – Jumped away awkwardly.
BOUCHARD – Jumped away awkwardly and brushed the starting gate, resulting in jockey A. Allen becoming unbalanced.
PIXIE HOLLOW – When being restrained near the 1200m, got its head up and raced ungenerously. Shifted out abruptly after leaving the 300m.
IDALIA’S DREAM – Shifted out to avoid heels after leaving the 300m.
JAPALI FOX – Raced wide without cover throughout.
Race 5: Chaps Menswear BenchMark 70 H'cap – 1000m
DIETERS – Trainer R. Heathcote advised that the colt had undergone throat surgery following its unplaced effort in the Black Opal in 2016. Jumped away awkwardly and shifted out, making heavy contact with another runner.
GRACEVILLE – Slow to begin.
RED HANDLE – Heavily bumped shortly after the start.
AROUSED – Knuckled on jumping away. Raced wide throughout.
SNITZEL’S JOY – Shifted out shortly after the start and made contact with another runner and blundered. Shifted out under pressure near the 200m.
BAGUS – Forced wider on the track by another runner at the 200m.
ONE IN ONE OUT – After leaving the 200m, had to be steadied when tightened for room between runners.
MIRI MIRI – Raced wide throughout.
Race 6: All Pest Qld Class 4 H'cap – 1400m
MAKEADANE – As J. Orman was indisposed, J. Byrne was substituted as the rider of the horse. Jockey J. Byrne reported his mount hung in when placed under pressure in the straight.
VICTORVETO - The start of this race was delayed when the gelding required farrier attention. Trainer R. Lyford was reprimanded for presenting the gelding with unsatisfactory plating. Mr Lyford was advised that the nomination of the horse would be refused in the metropolitan/provincial area due to its poor performance.
MOONLIGHT DANCER – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running approaching the 200m.
OUR RACKETEER – Slow to begin.
RIDEONABIGJETPLANE – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 900m.
CAUTHEN’S POWER – Raced wide without cover throughout.
Race 7 – Proliquor CG&E Class 3 Plate – 1200m
TAMMANY HALL – Trainer N. McCall was fined $200 for late declaration of T. Brooker as the rider of this horse, and M. Cahill as the rider of SICARIO in Race 3.
BURNING MOUNTAIN – Raced wide without cover.
GREGORY – Had to be steadied away from heels near the 200m.
OLSSON – Inconvenienced near the 100m.
IMA SHOWMAN – Shifted out abruptly near the 100m. Apprentice A. Sewell, rider of IMA SHOWMAN, was advised in similar circumstances he must endeavour to straighten his mounts sooner than he did on this occasion.
Race 8: The Pump House F&M Class 3 Plate – 1200m
MISS AMIGO – As G. Colless was delayed in traffic, A. Allen was substituted as the rider of the horse.
PRIDE OF RAWBELLE – Jumped away awkwardly. Raced wide without cover.
VIADUCTRESS - Bumped on jumping away and was crowded shortly after the start and had to be steadied. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Apprentice R. Williams reported at scale that the mare did not show her customary speed and was further back in the field than she had anticipated and did not finish the race off.
SEDUCTIVE DREAM – Bumped on jumping away.
PRONTEZZA – Overraced in the early stages.
AGORA – Blundered near the 400m.
DOUBT SHE’S A LADY – Raced wide without cover.
LADY MICAELA – Trainer B. Costello was questioned regarding the apparent improved performance of the mare. He stated that at its previous start at Ipswich it was slow to begin and was forced wider from the 600m and he was not disappointed with her effort bearing in mind LADY MICAELA finished only 3½ lengths from the winner.
