Race 1 – Oaks Hotels, Resorts & Suites Benchmark 75 H’cap – 1800m 
 
BRONZEGATE -  The start was delayed when the horse reared after having been loaded into the barriers and became cast.  Was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.   Trainer S. Laxon  was advised that the gelding must perform satisfactorily in 2 official trials prior to starting again. Slow to begin.  Was bumped by another runner near the 200m and forced wider at that point.
 
VENI VIDI VICI – Jockey J. Murphy reported  his mount travelled comfortably throughout, however when asked for an effort at the top of the straight failed to respond to his riding and proved disappointing in the run to the line.  He indicated connections would now send the mare for a spell.
 
AMERICAN DIVA – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight, and when approaching the 200m shifted out in an attempt to secure clear running and made contact with another runner.
 
 
Race 2 – Wimmers Premium Soft Drinks Maiden Plate – 4yo & Up – 1200m 
 
BIANCHI BRAVE – Jockey N. Thomas replaced jockey D. McIntosh due to transport difficulties.  
 
BENNO FIRST – Trainer G. Burns was reprimanded under AR102 for failing to lodge a stable return reporting that the horse had been gelded. Overraced in the early stages when being restrained in an attempt to obtain cover, however was unsuccessful and raced 3 wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight, causing its rider to stop riding on 2 occasions and straighten.
 
DEBONAIR DES – Slow to begin.
 
BIANCHI BRAVO – Slow to begin.
 
BONNY BRIE -  Overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.  
 
 
Race 3 – TAB QTIS 2yo Maiden Plate – 1200m 
 
ROYAL SHEEN – Trainer C. Munce was reprimanded under AR102 for failing to lodge a stable return reporting that the horse had been gelded. 
 
CONQUER MEE – The start of this race was delayed when jockey A. Spinks was dislodged en route to the barriers  before being recaptured and was declared a late scratching at 1.39 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

ROYAL SHEEN – The start was further delayed when the horse also lost its rider, S. Cormack, and galloped a significant distance before being recaptured, and was declared a late scratching at 1.44 pm. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded, with the following deductions applicable.

The start was further delayed when TWERK had to be reshod after losing its off fore plate behind the barriers.
 
AIR SPIRIT – Slow to begin.  Overaced in the early stages.  Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
PARANGAS – Slow to begin.
 
SPIRITUAL ROSE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
SPLENDARAMA – Overraced for a short distance passing the 900m when restrained to obtain cover.
 
 
 
MISHANI BLOSSOM – Raced wide without cover.
 
SAMPHIRE HOE – A post race veterinary examination of the horse, which weakened in the home straight after leading, failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
 
Race 4 – Hot 91 Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1000m
 
The start of this race was delayed due to the significant delay in the previous race.
 
TAKES TIME – Slow to begin.  Held up during the early stages of the home straight, and after obtaining clear running laid in under pressure.
 
BARNSLEY – Jumped awkwardly.
 
CORDONED – Slow to begin.
 
IMA TEAMBOY – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
 
Race 5 – Sky Racing QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1200m 
 
METRICAL – Jockey B. Stewart was fined $300 for returning to scale overweight.
 
NERINA – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
 
TURMOIL – Slow to begin.
 
ZAHBAY – Slow to begin.
 
LOVE YA BLUE – Overraced in the early stages.
 
SMOOTH MOVE – Obliged to race in restricted room approaching the 700m when bumped by another runner.  Held up rounding the home turn and until approaching the 300m.
 
HERITAGE SASH – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
L’AMANTE – Raced 3 wide. Jockey T. Marshall was asked to comment on the horse’s performance. He indicated in the circumstances he was very happy with the filly’s  effort as he was obliged to settle 3 wide and then after passing the 600m was bumped by another runner and forced wider, causing him to race 4 wide approaching the home turn. He felt that this had cost his mount valuable ground and then when placed under pressure in the home straight, the horse, in his view, responded well and was doing its best work over the concluding stages.
 
HINANO – Stewards asked D. Griffin to comment on the horse’s performance. He indicated that the horse’s disappointing performance could be attributed to it failing to back up well after racing on Sunday, 28 August. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
 
Race 6 – Coastline BMW Class 4 H’cap – 1400m 
 
ARCHER’S TREASURE – Trainer M. Nolan was reprimanded for failing to advise the horse is now a gelding.
 
CHARWAY – Change of tactics. Connections advised they would attempt to have the horse ridden on speed if circumstances permit. The mare was ridden accordingly.
 
MINA HARKER – Slow to begin. Jockey Hellyer was asked to comment on the performance of the mare, which finished last.  He indicated that the horse was disappointing in his opinion, however added that the horse was second up in today’s event and has previously not had a good second up record, however could not add any further explanation for the performance.  A  post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormality.
 
CORMAC – Held up rounding the home turn on the heels of the weakening JACKPOT and was then further inconvenienced passing the 400m when obliged to race in restricted room between runners.
 
JACKPOT – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
TYCOON STREET – Jockey L. Cassidy reported to stewards he was disappointed with the overall performance of his mount. He indicated it had been his intention to settle midfield if possible, however was obliged to settle further back. He indicated that rounding the home turn the horse had improved well into the event, however after being bumped by another runner passing the 400m, then failed to respond to his riding and, in his view, was disappointing in the run to the line.
 
Race 7 – Access Insulation CG&E Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1200m 
 
CORAL BAY – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined  $200  for failing to advise a rider for the horse by the prescribed time. Tightened for room at the start and had to be steadied. Overaced when the pace slackened near the 900m.
 
GOOD TIME CHARLIE– Jockey B. Stewart was stood down by the doctor and replaced by J. Byrne.
 
MADLUCE MISSILE – After being slow to begin, was then tightened for room and steadied shortly after the start.
 
LYRICAL PRINCE – Jumped away awkwardly, inconveniencing other runners.
 
FULL NELSON – Jumped away awkwardly, then overraced in the early stages when being restrained to obtain cover.
 
ZOFF ‘N’ OFF – Approaching the 800m was placed in restricted room to the inside of KING RAGNAR and remained awkwardly placed at that horse’s heels before being steadied leaving the 700m.  Jockey T. Harrison, rider of KING RAGNAR, was reprimanded for this incident. A post race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be lame in the off fore leg.  Connections were advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied prior to its next race start.
 
Race 8 – XXXX Gold F&M Benchmark 70 H’cap – 1200m 
 
LA RENARDE – Jockey B .Stewart was stood down by the doctor and replaced by D. Griffin.
 
SAILOR GERRI – Prior to the running of this event stewards received information from race day officials regarding possible race day treatment of this mare.  After taking evidence from steward Mrs L. Hicks and veterinarian surgeon Dr A. Murdoch stewards declared the horse a late scratching at  4.39 pm acting under AR20(d).  Stewards subsequently opened an inquiry into this matter, taking further evidence from trainer L. Birchley and stablehand K. Alderton. Urine, blood and nasal swab samples were also taken and the inquiry was adjourned to a time and date to be fixed in order for  these samples to be analysed.   
 
Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

30 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
23 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
27 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
LA RENARDE – Declared a late scratching at  4.43 pm after the mare refused to load. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
13 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
15 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
11 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
12 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
Stable representative, M. Morrison,  was advised that the mare would be required to obtain 2 further barrier certificates, one of which must be obtained in an official trail.
 
TREASURE GALLERY – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels approaching the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
ANNATIME – Raced 3 wide without cover.
 
ELLA DIVINE – Raced 3 wide.
 
WIRED – Jockey M. Hellyer reported it had not been his intention to lead in today’s event, however the horse began well and rather than fight the horse he allowed it to stride forward to the lead.
