SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

From Doomben, 18.12.19

Stewards today inquired into the reasons why SHONO MERCY fell passing the 900m.   Stewards took evidence from jockey D. Smith, rider of SHONO MERCY, and jockey N. Day, rider of NALSSEDORI and viewed the footage of the race.  After considering all the evidence, it was established that NALSSENDORI was overracing passing the 1000m and proving difficult to be restrained.  SHONO MERCY, which was following NALSSENDORI, was also overracing and at a point approaching the 900m improved to inside the heels of NALSSENDORI and whilst being restrained clipped the heels of that runner and fell.  Stewards were of the opinion  that they could not apportion blame to any one rider and deemed it to be a racing incident and took the matter no further.
