Race 1:  Sky Racing Maiden Plate – 2200m
 
KEYHOLE – After making contact with the enclosure gate prior to the event, was examined by the veterinary surgeon and cleared to start.
 
IDIDITMYWAY – Slow to begin. Overraced in the early stages, having to be restrained from heels on a number of occasions.
 
MAJOR OAK – Overraced in the early stages before being shifted wider near the 1400m and ridden forward to a position outside the lead leaving the 1200m.
 
IMMERSION – Lost its off fore plate in running.  Underwent a veterinary examination which no significant abnormalities.
 
 
 
Race 2:  Sky Racing Benchmark 60 H’cap – 2400m
 
BROCSON – Slow to begin.
 
SHELTER LADY -  Stewards inquired into an incident which resulted in SHELTER LADY being checked after passing the 400m.  After taking evidence from the rider’s involved jockey Cassidy, rider of SHE SALUTES, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that after passing the 400m he allowed SHE SALUTES to shift in when not sufficiently clear of SHELTER LADY, contributing to that horse being tightened for room, being checked and losing its rightful running.  Jockey Cassidy was suspended for a period of 7 days, to commence at midnight, 1 March 2020 and to conclude at midnight, 8 March 2020. In assessing penalty stewards found that jockey Cassidy was the major contributor to the interference suffered by SHELTER LADY.  Jockey L. Tarrant, rider of SANTARENE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that after passing the 400m he directed his mount out when not sufficiently clear of SHELTER LADY, contributing to SHELTER LADY being tightened for room, checked and losing its rightful running.  Jockey Tarrant was reprimanded for his contribution to the interference, and in assessing penalty stewards took into account further submissions from jockey S. Lacy, rider of SHELTER LADY, and  ruled that jockey Tarrant’s  contribution was of a minor nature.
 
 
Race 3:  Sky Racing Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate – 1400m
 
SIZZALATING – As jockey A. Best was to be overweight, jockey R. Wiggins was substituted as the rider of the horse.  Jockey Best was fined the sum of $100.
 
ASVATARA – Slow to begin.  Rider reported that the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise during the event.  A post race veterinary examination confirmed the horse was making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer B. Harden advised that the horse must undergo an endoscopic examination  prior to starting again.
 
BALLINGALL DUKE – Finished a distant last and was also making an abnormal respiratory noise. Trainer Mr S. Cole was advised that the horse must officially trial prior to its next race start.
 
PLAYTHEFIELD – Jockey M McGillivray reported that his mount did not travel strongly throughout the event. Trainer S Kendrick reported that the gelding would now be sent for a spell.
 
 
Race 4: Sky Racing Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate – 1000m
 
INVESTIBLE – As jockey B. Stewart was to be overweight,  jockey L. Tarrant was substituted as the rider of the horse.  Jockey Stewart was fined $200.  Tightened for room and lost ground at the start.  
 
BETTER THAN MAGIC –  Inconvenienced by KEEPMOVING FORWARD near the 300m. Raced wide throughout.
 
KEEPMOVING FORWARD  - Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight. Shifted out near the 300m, inconveniencing BETTER THAN MAGIC.  Jockey  Du Plessis was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
 
 
Race 5:  Sky Racing Fillies and Mares Class 2 H’cap – 1000m
 
SHE’S A MITZY – Trainer C. Hickey was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
ANGELS LOVE – Slow to begin.
 
MISSIE ARCHER – Slow to begin.
 
HALEP – Jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.   A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities. Trainer W. Bannerott advised stewards in light of tonight’s performance she would be discussing with owners the horse’s immediate racing future.
 
SPARKLING FACET – Overraced in the early stages and raced wide for the majority of the race.
 
BOLD SENSATION – Had difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
MIDNIGHT MATINEE – Held up from the 400m onwards, and in the final 50m  was struck in the head with the whip of another runner, and went to the line without being fully tested.
MISS MAKEPEACE – Held up for clear running over the final 100m.
 
FORGOTTEN FEELING – Raced wide throughout.
 
 
Race 6: Sky Racing Class 4 H’cap – 1200m
 
ARTHUR PORRIT – Was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 6.43 pm after the gelding shifted its near hind plate and was pricked by a nail.

Connections were advised that a veterinary certificate must be supplied prior to its next race start.
 
EPIC RANT – Trainer N. McCall was fined $100 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
YEAHNAH – Reared as the start was effected and lost ground.
 
IGNITE THE LIGHT – Weakened from the 400m and finished a distant last.  Trainer/jockey L. Abbott advised stewards that, in her opinion, the horse was holding its breach during the event.   Miss Abbot was advised that in light of today’s performance the horse must officially trial prior to racing again. Miss Abbot indicated that the horse would likely be retired from racing.
 
METSON – Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
WEBOUIGHTAZOU – Held up  rounding the home turn and after obtaining clear running in the home straight was struck over the head by the whip of another runner near the 300m.
