GENERAL
 
As L. Tarrant was under disqualification, riding replacements were made as per the Stewards Race Day Summary.
 
Race 1: MCGRATH BUDERIM & MOOLOOLABA MAIDEN PLATE – 1400M
 
BE BRYAN – Slow to begin. Dipped near the 550m.
 
RAHEESH – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
WILCARUISE – Raced wide throughout.
 
FLASH PATCH – A post-race veterinary examination found the gelding to be sore in the nearside knee. Trainer D. Forster was advised that the horse will require a veterinary clearance prior to its next start.
 
MR MOONLIGHT – Raced wide without cover.
 
SHADOW ECLIPSE – J. Bayliss reported that his mount raced greenly throughout.
 
WICKED FREDDY – Slow to begin and was tightened for room shortly after the start. Overraced at heels near the 900m.
 
STONEFISH – Jumped away awkwardly.
 
MOMENTS IN TIME – Tightened for room near the 300m and had to be checked. J. Bayliss, the rider of SHADOW ECLIPSE, was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that near the 300m he made insufficient effort to straighten his mount, which was inclined to lay out, which resulted in tightening to MOMENTS IN TIME, causing that horse to be checked. J. Bayliss’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 7 days, commencing at midnight on Wednesday 29 April and expiring at midnight on Wednesday 6 May 2020.
 
Race 2: SUNSHINE COAST DAILY QTIS 2YO MAIDEN PLATE – 1200M
 
ALLEZ ZOU – Began awkwardly. Checked near the 1000m. B. Stewart, the rider of WAVE MAKER, pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR131(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift in near the 1000m crowding the running of CHESTO’S DREAM and ALLEZ ZOU, causing both horses to be checked and lose ground. B. Stewart’s licence to ride in races was suspended for 12 days, commencing at midnight on Saturday 25 April and expiring at midnight on Thursday 7 May 2020.
 
BATANGAS ENTRY – Laid in from the 500m, placing its rider at a disadvantage when placing the horse under pressure in the home straight.
 
CHESTO’S DREAM – Checked near the 1000m.
 
DEVIL – Blundered on jumping away. Raced greenly with its head in the air during the early stages and raced wide throughout.
 
KAPITANS OATH – Raced three wide without cover.
 
EELLOH – Buffeted on jumping away and lost ground.
 
TOUCH OF BALI – Raced in restricted room near the 800m. Overraced for the majority of the event. Checked from heels near the 400m.
 
SEBAAYER – Checked to avoid heels near the 1000m. Restrained from the event in the home straight after suffering a significant near fore leg injury, was examined by the on-course veterinary surgeon and transported to a veterinary clinic for x-rays and assessment. Trainer L. Ross was advised that the filly will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
 
Race 3: HAMPERS TO GO QTIS 2YO H'CAP – 1000M
 
KAVAK – Became awkward when obliged to avoid heels near the 350m.
 
ZINGALONG – Inconvenienced near the 350m.
 
GOODBYE EARL – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ISOTOPE – After shifting out to obtain clear running passing the 400m, then was inconvenienced near the 350m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was upgraded to GOOD 4.
 
Race 4: ROSS MACLEAN FELLOWSHIP BENCHMARK 78 H'CAP – 2200M
 
ANARCHY – Slow to begin.
 
SAGRE’S POINT – Raced wide during the early stages.
 
Race 5: PELICAN MOTORS SERVICE CENTRE CLASS 6 PLATE – 1600M
 
COGLIERE – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
ALPINE DANCER – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground. Restrained from heels near the 1500m.
 
TOKORIKI LAD – Raced wide without cover. Shifted out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
 A MAN TO MATCH – Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ADVANCE WARNING – Significantly slow to begin.
 
MYMMING – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
DISSOLUTION – Connections advised that the horse would be ridden in a more forward position than at its most recent start if circumstances permit. Settled in a midfield position after being slow to begin.
 
PROFIT – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
SPEAKING BAD – Improved on to heels approaching the 600m and had to be steadied.
 
Race 6: RACE ZONE RACING SUPPLIES QTIS 3YO PLATE – 1600M
 
GUNTANTES – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 1500m. Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
BALLISTIC BOY – Overraced when being restrained to obtain cover during the early stages.
 
ZIEMBA – Raced wide throughout. Blundered after being bumped near the 550m.
 
MOSSHIKI – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn.
 
WAPITI – Steadied when placed in restricted room near the 1400m to the inside of STAMPE, which shifted in. Apprentice J. Huxtable, the rider of STAMPE, was reprimanded for this incident.
 
EPICURIOUS – Significantly slow to begin.
 
DAWSON DELIGHT – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced during the early stages when placed in restricted room before improving on to heels near the 1300m and having to be steadied.
 
MISS PENFOLD – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 7: NUMBER ONE QUALITY HOMES OPEN H'CAP – 1400M
 
COOL CHAP – Jumped awkwardly and bumped BACCARAT BABY.
 
ORDER AGAIN – Slow to begin. Held up from the 600m and had to be checked approaching the 400m. Disappointed for a run near the 100m and went to the line without being fully tested.
 
BACCARAT BABY – Began awkwardly and bumped COOL CHAP.
 
ZOFONIC DANCER – J. Bayliss dropped his whip near the 200m.
 
MAGSTOCK – Slow to begin.
 
VICTORY EIGHT – A. Sewell dropped his whip near the 300m.
 
Race 8: TAB BENCHMARK 78 H'CAP – 1400M
 
DRUMBEAT’S CHOICE – Slow to begin.
 
RED CHASE – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a laceration to the nearside nostril, resulting in blood being present.
 
SIENNA ROSE – Apprentice S. Thornton reported that her mount felt awkward in its action in the off foreleg. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to be stepping short in the off foreleg.
 
FASANO – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
PRESSWAY – Raced wide without cover until the 600m.
 
SISTER PATTI – Connections advised that from the wide barrier the horse would be ridden in the second half of the field. After beginning well the horse was permitted to stride forward to the lead.
 
PONYTALES – Raced wide throughout.
 
DON’T WAIVER – Raced wide throughout.
 
Race 9:HENZELLS AGENCY OPEN H'CAP – 1000M
 
VEGA ONE – After taking evidence from apprentice B. Nothdurft and trainer T. Gollan, stewards adjourned an inquiry into the tactics adopted on the gelding.
 
RINGO’S A ROCKSTAR – Jumped away awkwardly. Restrained from heels when overracing near the 600m. Obliged to alter course near the 300m to secure clear running.
 
JUST ORM – Raced wide without cover.
