Race 1: Apack Commercial QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1400m
 
PRETTY POSY -  Began awkwardly and lost ground. Tailed the field throughout.
 
SEMIFOX – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 300m when attempting a run was disappointed and inconvenienced when KEEN AS A BEAN and I AM A BEAUTY both shifted ground marginally.  Near the 200m shifted out to secure clear running. Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages.
 
THE CROW MAN – Raced keen in the early and middle stages. Near the 900m had to be steadied from the heels of MANDEVILLE ROCKER which shifted in.  Rider D. Griffin (MANDEVILLE ROCKER) was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear. Performed below market  expectation, rider L. Cassidy advised that the colt was slow to begin and overraced in the early stages and failed to respond to his riding in the straight. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any significant abnormalities.
 
I AM A BEAUTY – Overraced and raced greenly throughout.
 
KEEN AS A BEAN – Rider D. Smith was reminded of his obligation under provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in relation to his whip use six times prior to the 100m. By not taking more severe action, stewards took into account the totality.
 
Race 2: Authentic Security Pty Ltd QTIS 2yo H’cap – 1000m
 
JUST A PATSY – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
 
EARN OUT – Slow to begin.
 
MAGIC DELTA - A post-race veterinary examination revealed laceration to off side front heel.
 
Race 3: Coastal Vehicle Solutions Maiden Plate - 1000M
 
The start of this race was delayed  when VAHLIA was fractious in the barriers. Underwent a veterinary examination which found the filly suitable to race.
 
SHE’S WHITTIE – Trainer R. Davidson was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
MOON BOOM – Trainer P. Cartledge was fined $100 under the provisions of AR99 for failing to produce the identification card for the filly.  Bumped on the hind quarters on jumping by SHE DRIVES ME WILD. Raced three wide with cover throughout.  Rider S. Lacy reported that the filly raced greenly throughout.
 
GOOD ART – As the gelding had not raced for over 12 months, it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was passed suitable to race. Raced wide throughout.
 
FINDLETON – Slow to begin. Approaching the 300m was placed awkwardly on heels of CHANT NAY NEVER when laying in.
 
CHANT NAY NEVER – Slow to begin. Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
VAHLIA – Began awkwardly, shifted out abruptly and bumped SHE DRIVES ME WILD.  
 
SHE DRIVES ME WILD – Checked at the start and lost ground between VAHLIA and MOON BOOM.
 
STAZZANA – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight before shifting to the inside of ROCK PAPER SIZZLE to obtain clear running. Rider G. Geran was reminded of his obligation under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) in relation to his whip use six times prior to the 100m. By not taking more severe action, stewards took into account the totality.
 
I AM SUMI – Raced three wide without cover throughout.  Rider T. Harrison was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip seven times prior to the 100m.
 
IRISH ACE – Raced  three wide with cover throughout.
 
TOKAI MEIGETSU – Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $100 under the provisions of AR 99 for failing to produce the identification card for the gelding. Performed below market expectation, rider D. Smith advised that the gelding, which was first up today for trainer S. Kendrick, had trialled satisfactorily, however was disappointing today and may be better suited over distances further than of today’s event.
 
Race 4:   Dynamicodds.com QTIS 3yo Maiden Plate – 1200m
 
WINDCHILL -  Began awkwardly.
 
VOGUE – Began awkwardly.
 
BOOM CHUGGA LUGGA – Shortly after the start was inconvenienced by SYDNEY ANGUS, which shifted out.
 
CENTRAL AMERICA – Shortly after the start was tightened for room and as a result lost ground between ANGELIC ARCHER and BOOM CHUGGA LUGGA.
 
ANGELIC ARCHER – Bumped on the hind quarters shortly after the start by CENTRAL AMERICA.  Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
MAKEDON – Overraced in the early stages. Near the 400m shifted out to secure clear running.
 
PHAT BEATS – Raced keenly for the majority.
 
SYDNEY ANGUS – Overraced in the early stages. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
NIKOHLI BEAGLE – Raced three wide with cover throughout. Apprentice S. Tomlinson was fined $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip eight times prior to the 100m. In determining penalty stewards took into account apprentice Tomlinson’s recent good record regarding breaches of this rule.
 
QUEEN LAGERTHA – Rider T. Harrison was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132 (7)(a)(ii) for using her whip seven times prior to the 100m.
 
After the running of Race 4 the track rating was upgraded to Soft 7 at 4.30.
 
Race 5: Mask Events Class 5 H’cap – 1400m
 
ROYAL ATOM – Slow to begin.
 
SHADYVALE STAR – Near the 600m lost its girth cover in running. Bumped by CARRY ON RINGO near the 200m.
 
MYMMING – Brushed by DIPLOMATIC MISS near the 100m.
 
CARRY ON RINGO – Shifted out under pressure and bumped SHADYVALE STAR near the 200m.
 
DIPLOMATIC MISS –  Brushed by MYMMING near the 100m. Trainer S. O’Dea advised his intention  was for the mare to be ridden more forward due to the lack of speed in today’s event. Subsequently settled behind the leader.  Mr O’Dea was reminded of his obligations under the provisions of AR100(1)(b) to advise a change of riding instructions 30 minutes prior to the race. Performed below market expectation, rider S. Thornton could offer no explanation. A post-race veterinary examination  failed to reveal any abnormalities.  
 
 
Race 6: North Coast Slashing CG&E Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1000m
 
Start was delayed when IMA TEAMBOY became fractious in the gates and got its near hindleg cast in the barriers. Underwent veterinary examination and  was found to be lame in the near hindleg.  Subsequently declared at late scratching at 4:26pm on veterinary advice. Subsequent to the event all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.
 
15 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets
15 cents in the dollar on the face value of win bets for the place
11 cents in the dollar on the face value of 2nd place bets
13 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
 
Trainer T. Miller was advised that a veterinary clearance must be supplied prior to the horse’s next race start, and that a warning would be placed on the gelding.
 
AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR  – Slow to begin. Held up approaching the 400m after being disappointed for a run to the outside of ACCUMULATED. Shifted in to secure clear running passing the 200m.
 
FLYING FROG – Began awkwardly.
 
ROGUE DRUMMER – Began awkwardly.
 
MAGIC LAD – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Passing the 400m had to be steadied to avoid the heels of GOD OF MISCHIEF, which shifted out.  Rider D. Griffin (GOD OF MISCHIEF) was reprimanded under the provisions of AR131(a) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear.
 
DURUNDUR LAD – Laid out under pressure over the concluding stages. Rider J. Bayliss was fined $300 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip seven times prior to the 100m, and $200 under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(i) for one consecutive strike prior to the 100m.
 
BOMBARDING – Near the 100m shifted out under pressure and bumped KING RAGNAR.
 
KING RAGNAR – Bumped near the 100m by BOMBARDING. Raced three wide with cover throughout.
 
 
Race 7: Pelican Waters Gold Club F&M Benchmark 65 H’cap – 1000m
 
MORE THAN LIKELY - Trainer N. McCall  was fined $100 under the provisions of LR67 for failing to declare a rider for the horse by the prescribed time.
 
TREASURE GALLERY – Began awkwardly and then was momentarily hampered shortly after between MASSABIELLE and MORE THAN LIKELY.
 
INITIALIZE – Began awkwardly.
 
LIPS ‘N HIPS – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Overraced and laid out from the 700m until the 400m.  Performed below market expectation, apprentice  S. Tomlinson advised that, in his opinion, the mare is more suited to distances shorter than that of today’s event, and could offer no other explanation for the performance. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.   
 
Race 8: TAB Class 1 H’cap – 1600m
 
BYRON BUOY – Began awkwardly. Raced keen in the early stages.
 
MAGUEREAU – Slow to begin.
 
CLASSIC PEARL – Began awkwardly.
 
SAYS WHO – Crowded for room at the start and lost ground between CLASSIC PEARL, which shifted out, and CONCEALED DYNAMITE, which shifted in.
 
CONCEALED DYNAMITE – Began awkwardly.
