SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
Doomben 6th October 2021 – Race 4: Following the event it was reported that JIMMY NUETRON had bled from the near-side nostril during the event and acting under AR79(4) Trainer Jeff Dunn was advised the horse would be stood down for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000 metres in the presence of a Steward prior to resuming racing.
 
 
Race 1: TK ELEVATOR Maiden Plate 1800 metres
 
DIAMOND BEANS – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
DUSTOFF – Change of tactics, to be ridden further back in the field if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. Raced three wide with cover for the majority of the event. Rider S Thornton reported the race over-raced in the early stages and was uncompetitive for the majority of the event.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery. Trainer R Peterson was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance including the results of an endoscopic examination prior to and following a satisfactory trial. Mr Peterson advised it would now be his intention to spell DUSTOFF.
 
HAMILTON PLACE – Had difficulty securing clear running from the 600 to the 400 metres.
 
KEATON – Jumped out at the start and bumped POWER PUNCH. Held up for clear running between the 600 metres and 500 metres.
 
POWER PUNCH (NZ) – Bumped on jumping away. Raced wide in the early stages.
 
A GLASS OF BUBBLES (NZ) – Slow to begin. Over-raced in the early stages and near the 1400 metres had to be steadied from heels. V Venkaya, rider of A GLASS OF BUBBLES, was fined $400 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 6 occasions prior to the 100 metres, one more than permitted.
 
ANGELIC ARCHER – Raced three wide in the early stages before progressing forward to race outside the leader near the 800 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lacerations to the off hind leg.
 
 
Race 2: ARCHERS THE STRATA PROFESSIONALS Class 3 Handicap 1800 metres
 
JUST A PATSY – Approaching the 350 metres, when attempting a narrow run to the inside of KEEFY, became awkward in its action, shifted in and made contact with the running rail.
 
PARANGAS – Pulled hard in the early and middle stages of the event. Became awkward in its action shortly after passing the winning post. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the near hind leg. Co-trainer M Hoysted was advised PARANGAS would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.  
 
CRAIGLEA KARLY – Slow to muster speed in the early stages.
 
KEEFY – At the request of trainer D Vandyke was examined post-race which revealed no abnormalities.
 
 
Race 3: ARC UTILITIES MANAGEMENT QTIS Three-Year-Old Colts and Geldings Maiden 1000 metres
 
EVERLAST – Began awkwardly and shifted out abruptly on jumping. Raced ungenerously throughout. Trainer C Munce was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
BETTER TO EXCEL – Slow to begin. Inconvenienced and taken wider approaching the 200 metres.
 
CUDYADO – Checked at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout the event. Raced ungenerously in the middle stages.
 
NO GOING BACK – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
RED JASPER – Checked at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout the event.
 
ROCKET RYAN – Slow to begin. Improved onto heels near the 650 metres and had to be steadied and then hung out until entering the home straight. Trainer B Gill was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
 
TYSON'S FURY – Improved onto heels near the 650 metres and had to be steadied.
 
ZAVABOOM – Steadied from heels near the 500 metres and became unbalanced. Inconvenienced and taken wider approaching the 200 metres.
 
KING SHALAA – Shifted in abruptly on jumping.
 
 
Race 4: HIGGINS COATINGS QTIS Three-Year-Old Fillies Maiden Handicap 1000 metres Q
 
BANKROLL BABE – Slow to begin.
 
CHAMPAGNE POP – On jumping bumped heavily and taken outwards and lost ground. After passing the 500m improved onto heels and had to be steadied and then remained awkwardly placed on heels before shifting out near the 350m to obtain clear running.
 
HOT OR NOT – Near the 800m had to be steadied when racing in restricted room.
 
PRETTY FLASH – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until approaching the 200m.
 
PUTONTHEREDLIGHT – Jumped in abruptly on jumping. Held up for clear running between the 450m and the 350m.
 
REDEEMING SPIRIT – Jumped out at the start.
 
ROSE OF DUPORTH – Checked at the start between REDEEMING SPIRIT and PUTONTHE REDLIGHT, both of which shifted ground.
 
SOUL SPIRIT – Hung out in the middle stages of the event and continued to lay out when placed under pressure in the home straight and shifted wider on the track. R Maloney, rider of SOUL SPIRIT, was advised to stop riding and straighten in similar circumstances.
 
STEPPING STONE – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
SUNDARA – Jumped out at the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event. Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages and close to the finish line was obliged to steady. 
 
FEE – Began awkwardly and shifted in. Hung out rounding home turn. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
 
Race 5: BOSS BUILDING MAINTENANCE BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1000 metres
 
AZIZ JAMIL COUREUR – Slow to begin. Awkwardly placed on heels rounding the home turn.
 
VAPORIZING – Began awkwardly.
 
FAMILY STAR – Rider reported the horse was inclined to lay in throughout the event. Approaching the 100 metres had to be restrained when VAPORIZING shifted out when not fully clear. R Maloney, rider of VAPORIZING, was reprimanded for carelessness under AR131(a) and advised to show greater care in similar circumstances.
 
ARRIVERDERCI ROMA – Raced three wide without cover throughout.
 
 
Race 6: HYNES LEGAL Class 1 Plate 1200 metres
 
DURUNDUR LAD – On arrival at the barriers and at the request of the rider underwent went a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Rider reported horse made an abnormal respiratory noise during the race. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer S Mackinnon gave an undertaking to report back any condition which may come to light in the coming days to explain the performance.
 
GROOMED – Rider R Maloney, rider of sixth placegetter GROOMED, was fined $300 under AR131(b) for failing to ride the horse out to the end of the race. In assessing penalty Stewards were of the opinion his actions had cost GROOMED 5th place.
 
KEETA – Blundered on jumping.
 
TICK TOCK BOOM – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
 
GOLDSCHLAGER – After shifting to the outside of the heels of GROOMED passing the 500m, became held up until entering the home straight when obliged to shift back to the inside to secure clear running soon after.
 
LAUDEYLOU – Slow to begin.
 
THE STIFMEISTER – Over-raced in the middle stages.
 
 
Race 7: STRATA COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1400 metres
 
BELLICOSE – Over-raced in the early stages of the event.  N Thomas reported the gelding hung out from the 800 metres.
 
TRACKMAN (NZ) – When asked to comment on the improved performance trainer T Lambourn indicated when trained in North Qld the horse had raced in a crossover noseband which he removed at the horse’s most recent start at Beaudesert on 21st September. Mr Lambourn added he was somewhat disappointed in the performance over an unsuitable distance and after he experimented with the addition of a cross over noseband at a recent Deagon jump-out where TRACKMAN performed satisfactorily, he elected to add that gear to for tonight’s event.
 
MISS ALLE BE – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room near the 800 metres. K Wilson-Taylor, rider of SHAKTI, was advised to exercise greater care in similar circumstances. Attempted to shift out near the 600 metres and was disappointed for a run and as a result had be eased near the 550 metres.
 
STRATOBEL – Obliged to alter course on a number of occasions in the home straight to obtain clear running.
