SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
 
GENERAL
 
Due to Covid restrictions, the following overweights were approved:
Race 4 – HAKKAI MARU – M Cahill 54kg + .50kg
Race 4 – JOLLO – T Brooker 54kg + .50kg
 
Race 1: FORWARDRAIL CONSULTING QTIS Three-Year-Old BENCHMARK 62 Handicap 1200 metres
 
MAXIMUM OUTPUT – Over-raced in the early stages. Shifted out near the 350m and brushed ZAVABOOM.
 
ZAVABOOM – Jockey J Orman explained to Stewards that his mount travelled well during the race and although it was inclined to hang out on the home turn felt it was disappointing in its finishing effort in the home straight. Post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a nasal discharge indicating a possible respiratory infection. Trainer T Gollan advised Veterinary Certificate is required prior to next racing.
 
VETTA VELOCITA – Slow into stride.
 
ELECTRIC SPIRIT – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in shortly after the start.
 
NIZHONI LASS – Tightened for room shortly after the start between ZAVABOOM and ELECTRIC SPIRIT which shifted in slightly. Over-raced early and middle stages.
 
Race 2: TAB LONG MAY WE PLAY QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1000 metres
 
WIN BURN – Over-raced in the early stages. Laid out under pressure final 100m.
 
RAW GOLD – Slow to begin. Became unbalanced over the concluding stages when it put in a few awkward strides.
 
RED JASPER – Caught wide without cover in the early stages. Hung out rounding the home turn.
 
LATE NIGHT DEVIL – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 3: CELLAR MAINTENANCE AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1600 metres
 
WAY BEYOND – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight until the final 100m of the race.
 
THE MINIVAN – Slow to begin.
 
MAKEDON – Over-raced in the early and middle stages. Jockey J Orman suggested to connections that the gelding may settle better with the removal of the blinkers for future races.
 
 
Race 4: SUNSHINE COAST BUSINESS SOLUTIONS Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
CRACKING THUNDER – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
 
KAZZA'S JET – Slow to begin.
 
CANNY IMPACT – Raced wide throughout.
 
ROCKET RYAN – Jumped away awkwardly lost ground. A post-race Veterinary examination of ROCKET RYAN did not identify any abnormalities. Trainer B Gill was advised the gelding is now barred from Provincial meetings until its form improves.
 
HAKKAI MARU – Raced wide throughout without cover.
 
QUEEN SAFARI – Slow to begin.
 
 
Race 5: HAMPERS TO GO Maiden Handicap 1400 metres
 
ASHER – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ATE HINCHES - Slow to begin. Near the 650m was forced to ease when improved onto the heels of ASHER.
 
LOVE DEMON – Near the 1200m had to be eased when tightened for room by UZERLI which shifted in.
 
SCORPIO RISING (NZ) – The start was delayed when the gelding had to be resaddled behind the barriers. Raced wide throughout.
 
UZERLI – Jumped away awkwardly, shifted in and made contact with SCORPIO RISING (NZ). Near the 50m was forced to take hold when MACQUARIE STAR shifted ground.
 
MACQUARIE STAR – Raced wide in the early stages. Apprentice K Wilson-Taylor reprimanded for shifting ground over the concluding stages when his mount is under pressure.
 
DEVIL – Underwent a Veterinary examination prior to the start for a minor wound to its mouth, passed to race.
 
Race 6: KABOOM CONCRETE PUMPING RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 Handicap 1200 metres
 
SIR BULLEE – Slow to begin.
 
IN GREAT NIC – Slow to begin. Near the 600m steadied from the heels of PURPLE DIAMOND. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
 
MOZART'S RIVAL – Restless in the stalls, jumped awkwardly.
 
PURPLE DIAMOND – Near the 600m steadied from the heels of MAGIC LAD. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn until the 250m. A post-race Veterinary examination revealed the mare had suffered a small laceration to the front of the near-fore coronet.
 
SPILLENIA – Slow to begin.
 
LOVE ME BROKE – Slow to begin.
 
RESETTING EDGE – Slow to begin. Post-race Veterinary examination revealed the gelding was suffering from the Thumps.
 
Race 7: STANLEY RIVER THOROUGHBREDS Class 2 Plate 1400 metres
 
BETTER LAD – Approaching the 1100m raced in restricted room to the inside of STYLISH KIM.
 
ENDLESS MYSTERY – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and had to shift to the outside of TAIRUA (NZ) to improve.
 
IRISH THUNDER – Jockey A Mallyon was issued with a charge of careless riding for allowing IRISH THUNDER to shift in near the 1100m when insufficiently clear if TAIRUA (NZ) which was taken in across the rightful running of STYLISH KIM. After hearing further submissions from jockey Mallyon in defence of this charge, Stewards did not sustain a charge as they were satisfied that TAIRUA (NZ) had contributed to the interference to STYLISH KIM without IRISH THUNDER having a direct bearing on that runner.
 
KEETA – Raced wide in the early stages. Approaching the 1200m was forced to check out and away from the heel of TAIRUA (NZ) which shifted in
 
TICK TOCK BOOM – Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and the early stages of the home straight.

STYLISH KIM – Leaving the 1100m had to be checked and shifted out when tightened for room between BETTER LAD and TAIRUA (NZ). Raced three wide from that point onwards.
 
TAIRUA (NZ) – Jockey T Brooker was advised that she must show far greater care to her fellow riders for the manner in which she allowed the mare to shift in near the 1100m without any bearing from IRISH THUNDER.  Raced greenly under pressure in the home straight.
