GENERAL
 
Stewards approved the following weight variations:
Race 2: J Orman BRONZE DRAGON – 56.5kg (+0.5kg)
Race 4: J Orman AMORE VELOCE – 56.5kg (+0.5kg)
 
Race 1: HAPPY 80TH MAXINE LONG QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Handicap 1000 metres
 
JUSTSAY – Slow to begin.
 
KING'S HALO – Approaching the 600m obliged to steady from the heels of NETTUNO which shifted in when not fully clear. R Maloney, rider of NETTUNO, was reminded of his obligations when shifting ground.
 
HUMOUR ME – Jumped out at the start and bumped QUICKEN UP.
 
LAGUNA DE CHICABEL – Raced four wide for the majority of the event.
 
MIKKI ROSE – Raced three wide for the majority of the event.
 
SAND AND OCEAN – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Passing the 800m over-raced for a short distance when placed in restricted racing room.
 
SEENINTHESTARS – After being fractious in the tie up stalls, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Raced three wide with cover throughout the event. Rider C Robertson reported the filly raced greenly throughout the event. Trainer B Jones advised Stewards SEEINTHESTARS would now be sent for a spell.
 
GREYLANDER – Slow to begin. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
QUICKEN UP – Bumped heavily at the start resulting in rider M Philpot becoming awkwardly placed in the saddle for a short distance.
 
 
Race 2: COASTLINE BMW i4 Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
BEAUREGARD – As had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. After becoming fractious in the barriers was removed, underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
IRISH FIGURE – As had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. Slow to begin. Inclined to lay out for the majority of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse had bled from both nostrils for the first time. Trainer J Johnston was advised IRISH FIGURE would be stood down under AR79(4) for a period of 3 months and must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to its next race start.
 
SUMMER STAR – Bumped at the start. Over-raced in the early stages.
 
BRONZE DRAGON – Slow to begin.
 
FLYING ZAMBONI – Jumped out at the start and bumped with SUMMER STAR. Raced three wide throughout.
 
 
 
Race 3: COASTLINE BMW iX3 Colts, Geldings and Entires Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start was delayed approximately 2 minutes when the saddle on NICHOLAS ADAM was adjusted on arrival at the barriers.
 
BUNDYANDCOKE – Held up for clear running approaching and rounding the home turn.
 
EARLY CROW – Raced three wide without cover throughout. Rider B Thompson reported the horse raced flat today and, despite being caught racing three wide throughout the event, was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery rate. Representative for Trainer K Fogden advised EARLY CROW would now be sent for a spell.
 
MR VISTA – Raced keenly in the early stages of the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a slow post-race recovery rate.
 
CORBIN – Bumped at the start.
 
NICHOLAS ADAM – The saddle was adjusted on arrival at barriers. Slow to begin.
 
 
 
Race 4: COASTLINE BMW M3 Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1200 metres
 
FORBIDDEN ONE (NZ) – Jumped in at the start and bumped SIZZLING DIAMOND. Passing the 1100m raced in restricted room to the inside of LADY RAIN which was taken in momentarily by HOME OF GOOLAGONG. B Thompson, rider of HOME OF GOOLAGONG, was advised to exercise greater care.
 
HOME OF GOOLAGONG – Rider B Thompson reported it was not his intention to race in a forward position, however after beginning well and being caught wide, allowed HOME OF GOOLAGONG to stride forward in the early stages.
 
KLENICE (NZ) – Rider R Maloney advised in his opinion going forward the horse would benefit from the application of blinkers.
 
VELOCIRAPTOR – Jumped out at the start and bumped SIZZLING DIAMOND. Raced in restricted room for some distance passing the 1000m and approaching the 800m turned its head and attempted to savage FORBIDDEN ONE. In this incident SIZZLING DIAMOND shifted out and bumped LADY RAIN. Trainer Paul Jenkins was advised VELOCIRAPTOR must trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.  
 
LADY RAIN – Near the 1100m obliged to steady from the heels of HOME OF GOOLAGONG. Bumped near the 800m and taken wider when SIZZLING DIAMOND shifted out. Rider reported the horse was inclined to race greenly at various stages of the event.
 
METZARRO – Slow to begin. Momentarily held up entering the home straight before shifting wider on the track to obtain clear running.
 
SIZZLING DIAMOND – Tightened between runners at the start and lost ground.
 
 
Race 5: COASTLINE BMW 2 SERIES COUPÉ QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1400 metres
 
Correct weight was delayed allowing Trainer’s representative of 4th placegetter SWEAR ON A PROMISE to view the patrol footage in the home straight. After doing correct weight was declared on the semaphored placings.
 
IDONO – Bumped near the 200m when HARMONY REIGNS shifted in under pressure.
 
RED VISTA (NZ) – Rider T Brooker reported the horse felt short in its action on pulling up. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a partially ruptured near fore tendon. Trainer P Jenkins was advised RED VISTA would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
SWEAR ON A PROMISE – Raced wide for the majority of the event. Near the 200m bumped by IDONO which was taken by HARMONY REIGNS.
 
MACH SEVEN – Slow to begin. Over-raced for a short distance near the 900m when the pace steadied.
 
HOT SAUCE – From the wide barrier was restrained shortly after the start to a rearward position closer to the rails. Over-raced for a short distance near the 900m when the pace steadied. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
IMMEDIATE RESPONSE - The saddle was adjusted on arrival at barriers.
 
 
 
Race 6: COASTLINE BMW iX BENCHMARK 58 Handicap1800 metres
 
HARVESTA – Rider R Maloney reported the horse was inclined to lay in throughout the event and near the 1400m shifted in and contacted the running rail. A post-race veterinary examination revealed signs of heat stress. A post-race swab sample was taken from HARVESTA. Trainer M Costa advised the gelding would now be spelled.
 
D'CLONE (NZ) – J Molloy, rider of D’CLONE, was fined $300 under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, one more than permitted.
 
BROCSON – Slow to begin.
 
TURN ME OVER (NZ) – Slow to begin. When the pace eased near the 1400m was steadied from the heels of DOTNED.
 
DOTNED – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
 
 
Race 7: COASTLINE BMW X3 Fillies and Mares Class 2 Handicap 1200 metres
 
BEAN DREAMIN' – Bumped with KOKOPO KITTY at the start. Rider R Maloney reported the horse did not travel at any stage of the event and was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed airway congestion consistent with a respiratory condition. Trainer T Gollan was advised the horse would require a veterinary clearance, including satisfactory results of an endoscopic examination, prior to its next race start. Mr Gollan indicated he would report back to Stewards any condition which may come to light in coming days to explain today’s performance.
 
SECRET TALES – Declared a late scratching at 1:11pm after sustaining lacerations to both hind legs when being transported to the track. Co-Trainer M Hoysted was advised the horse would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
 
KOKOPO KITTY – Bumped with BEAN DREAMIN’ at the start. Rider T Brooker advised it was not her intention to lead but after beginning well, and with runners to the inside not pressing forward, she allowed the horse stride forward and lead the event.
 
PURE INDULGENCE – Slow to begin. Rider A Fancourt reported the horse did not handle today’s heavy track conditions.
