GENERAL
 
Trainer K. Schweida was fined $100 pursuant to LR 67(1) for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time for CASROCK which was engaged in Race 5.
 
Race 1: REED RACING BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1800 metres
 
STAR OF MICHELIN – Slow to begin.
 
BARADE (FR) – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
VICTORY EIGHT (NZ) – Slow to begin.
 
FAST TALKING – Raced three wide until approaching the 1000m.
 
ADMUND BOY – Stood flat footed as the start was affected and lost considerable ground. A post- race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. As this was the second occasion that the gelding had bled from both nostrils’ trainer A. Campton was advised ADMUND BOY would be barred from racing.

BADOOSH – Slow to begin. Raced three wide throughout.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Heavy 9 retrospectively to race 1.
 
Race 2: MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA PROVINCIAL SPRINTERS SERIES (FINAL) BENCHMARK 80 Handicap 1200 metres
 
The start of this event was slightly delayed owing to BONAPARTE and MAXIMUM OUTPUT both being presented with the incorrect saddles, as a result both riders were required to reweigh.  Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $400 pursuant to AR 106 (1) for negligence in saddling his runners engaged in this event.
 
BAANONE (NZ) – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
EDIT (NZ) – Raced in restricted shortly after the start and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
MAXIMUM OUTPUT – Raced wide throughout.
 
DREAMTIMER – Slow to begin.
 
KOSCIUSKO – Raced wide throughout.
 
RED RUBI – Jumped awkwardly. Raced in restricted room approaching the 800m. Inconvenienced approaching the 300m.
 
RENOUF – Hampered at the start.
 
BLUE KENTUCKY MOON – Raced wide throughout.
 
MISS DIVINE EM – Forced wider in the home straight.
 
Race 3: SUNSHINE COAST BUSINESS SOLUTIONS BENCHMARK 90 Handicap 1000 metres
 
ARCHER'S PARADOX – Bumped and taken inwards approaching the 100m by GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ).
 
THE TENOR – Bumped at the start.
 
KINGSTON'S HERE – Stewards granted permission for apprentice J. Lloyd to only claim 1kg of his 1.5kg allowance. Apprentice Lloyd was reprimanded under AR 143(14)(a). Jumped awkwardly, shifted in and bumped THE TENOR. Apprentice J. Lloyd advised stewards that the gelding felt awkward in its action in the home straight and also had a tendency to lay out after passing the 350m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a minor laceration near hind leg and also to be making an abnormal respiratory noise. Co-Trainer M. Hoysted was advised a veterinary clearance inclusive of an endoscopic report be forwarded prior to KINGSTON’S HERE completing an official trial before racing again.
 
GOLDSBOROUGH (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. Shifted in under pressure approaching the 100m and bumped ARCHER’S PARADOX.
 
 
Race 4: ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST QTIS Three-Year-Old Handicap 1000 metres
 
MUSCHIALLI – Hampered at the start and lost ground. Buffeted for a number of strides and became unbalanced when racing in restricted room approaching the 250m between NOT ANOTHER and MISHANI SNIPER which shifted in to secure clear running.
 
THATFEELSBETTER – Bumped on the hindquarters approaching the 200m by THE ROCKWELL SCALE which shifted in after being bumped by NOT ANOTHER.
 
MISHANI SNIPER - Raced wide throughout. Shifted in approaching the 250m to secure clear running and bumped with MUSCHIALLI for a number of strides and also resulting in NOT ANOTHER being bumped and becoming unbalanced. Rider T. Marshall was reprimanded pursuant to AR 131(a) for this incident.
 
SHAJAEA – Jumped awkwardly.
 
LIME SODA – Shifted out at the start.
 
THE ROCKWELL SCALE – Jumped awkwardly. Shifted in and steadied from the heels of THATFEELSBETTER approaching the 100m after being bumped by NOT ANOTHER.
 
NOT ANOTHER – Bumped and raced in restricted room approaching the 250m.
 
Following the running of this event the track was downgraded to a Heavy 10.
 
 
 
Race 5: BUTLER MCDERMOTT LAWYERS BRUCE MCLACHLAN CLASSIC QTIS 2YO Handicap 1000 metres
 
HEROIC SON – Jumped awkwardly. Checked from heels approaching the 300m when NORTHERN EXPRESS shifted in under pressure and BILLIONAIR BABY which was taken outwards to by CORFE CASTLE, which shifted out under pressure. After taking evidence from the riders involved, stewards issued charges of careless riding pursuant to AR 131(a) to J. Bryne the rider of CORFE CASTLE and apprentice J. Lloyd the rider of NORTHERN EXPRESS. Rider J. Bryne was found guilty of the charge and after hearing submissions on penalty was suspended from riding in races for a period of 7 days to commence midnight 11/07/22 until midnight 18/07/22. Apprentice J. Lloyd was found guilty of the charge and after hearing submissions on penalty was suspended from riding in races for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 11/07/22 until midnight 20/07/22. Both riders were advised of their right to internal review.

 
NORTHERN EXPRESS – Laid in under pressure approaching the 300m.
 
CORFE CASTLE – Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.
 
SPOOKY SPIRIT - Raced in restricted room leaving the 800m.
 
SNEAKY STARTER – Contacted the barrier partition on jumping. Rider T. Brooker advised stewards that the filly felt awkward with its hindquarter action. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
SPIRIT OF MILAN - Slow to begin.
 
BILLIONAIR BABY – Slow to begin. Raced in restricted room approaching the 600m.
 
Race 6: LANDSBOROUGH HOTEL CALOUNDRA CUP 2400 metres
 
LE DON DE VIE (GB) – Jumped awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
 
LONDON BANKER (NZ) - Cast an off fore hind plate during the event.
 
BARTHOLOMEU DIAS (GB) – Jumped awkwardly and shifted in bumping SWEET THOMAS (GER).
 
SWORDS DRAWN – Slow to begin.
 
SEAT OF POWER (IRE) – Jumped awkwardly. Cast its off fore plate during the event.
 
SWEET THOMAS (GER) – Bumped at the start.
 
ALAKAHAN (IRE) – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
ARAPAHO (FR) – Jumped awkwardly.
 
PAPPALINO (FR) - Raced wide throughout.
 
DUNHILL (NZ) - Raced wide throughout.
 
I PONDER – Jumped awkwardly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
WINSTON BLUE - A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
 
Race 7: DOUBLE R GROUP WINX GUINEAS 1600 metres
 
Upon application from trainer M. Dunn, SUBTERRANEAN was declared a late scratching @ 1:07pm due to the downgrade of the track.
 
The start of this event was delayed owing to an interstate event running late.
 
COLLAY'S SPIRIT (NZ) – Bumped shortly after the start.
 
WHITEWATER – Raced keenly approaching the 1200m and had to be steadied from heels.
 
ASHGROVE – Approaching the 1200m was obliged to shift inwards when awkwardly placed at the heels of RAYJEN which was taken inwards by MAJESTIC COLOUR. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery. Connections advised that the colt would be sent for a spell.
 
MAJESTIC COLOUR – Shifted in approaching the 1200m.
 
TAREX (NZ) – Jumped awkwardly. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MASTER MARKO (NZ) - Bumped shortly after the start.
 
PRINCE ALBY (NZ) – Over-raced for a significant distance in the early stages.
 
INDISCREETLY – Bumped at the start.
 
RAYJEN – Taken inwards by MAJESTIC COLOUR approaching the 1200m.
 
ROSE OF DUPORTH – Jumped awkwardly. Over-raced approaching the 900m.
 
SEBRING'S ROSE – Jumped awkwardly and bumped with INDISCREETLY. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Rider L. Cassidy advised stewards failed to quicken when asked and failed to handle the heavy track conditions.
 
 
Race 8: TAB GLASSHOUSE HANDICAP 1400 metres
 
Upon application from trainer C. Waller, BLONDEAU was declared a late scratching @ 2:23 pm due to the downgrade of the track.
 
Upon application from trainer Co-Trainer M. Hoysted, TUMBLER RIDGE was declared a late scratching @ 3:09 pm due to the downgrade of the track.
 
Following a report from QRIC Integrity Investigations Team officials, stewards interviewed trainer J. Pender regarding GOSPODIN (NZ) having a dried clay poultice applied to its off foreleg and some minor lacerations were observed on the leg. Upon questioning from stewards, trainer J. Pender advised stewards that the gelding had sustained a minor laceration to its off foreleg approximately a fortnight prior and upon examination from the stable vet the gelding had been subsequently treated with antibiotics for a number of days leading up to today’s event. Mr Pender further added the clay poultice had been applied the day prior. Stewards were comfortably satisfied that GOSPODIN (NZ) had not been treated or administered any medication in breach of the rules of racing and permitted the gelding to start after being cleared to start by the veterinary official. Mr Pender subsequently pleaded guilty to charges pursuant to AR 105(1)(c) for failing to advise stewards of a condition that may affect the horse’s performance and was fined $1000. Mr Pender further pleaded guilty for failing to maintain a treatment book pursuant to AR 104(1) and was fined $200. Stewards advised Mr Pender of his right to internal review.
 
The start of this event was delayed due to the delay in the previous event and as a result of HILO requiring to be resaddled upon arrival at the barriers.
 
BUFFALO RIVER (USA) – Hampered shortly after the start. Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
HOLYFIELD – Taken inwards by BUFFALO RIVER (USA) in the early stages of the home straight.
 
CHARLEISE – Raced in restricted room approaching the 1000m and was steadied. Momentarily steadied approaching the 250m.
 
GOSPODIN (NZ) – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being found to have sustained an injury to the off foreleg subsequent to its previous start. in the days prior to the event and was cleared to start.
 
HILO – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn between HOLYFIELD and BUFFALO RIVER (USA)
 
Race 9: ADS ON WHEELS BENCHMARK 78 Handicap 1400 metres
 
Upon application from trainer T. Gollan, LOVE SENSATION was declared a late scratching @ 1:15pm due to the downgrade of the track.
 
MORETHANNUMBERONE – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Laid in for the majority. Cast its off-hind plate. Rider B. Loy advised stewards that the gelding failed to handle the heavy track today.
 
GLITTER STRIP - Bumped at the start and lost ground.
 
WILMOT PASS – Raced in restricted room approaching the 1300m and was steadied.
