SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
From Kilcoy Saturday 26th November 2022 Race 5: ZOU ZOUAMORE – Trainer K Kemp advised Stewards subsequent to the event an endoscopic examination performed on the mare revealed no abnormalities. Mr Kemp added he intended to continue with ZOU ZOUAMORE’S current preparation.
From Kilcoy Saturday 26th November 2022 Race 2: BE MY LOVER – Trainer M Morrison advised BE MY LOVER pulled up with no abnormalities on return to the stable, and added the horse has now been sent for a spell.
GENERAL
As apprentice Melea Castle was not riding at the meeting for acceptable reasons, Stewards permitted riding changes as per the race Day Summary sheet.
Stewards accepted the explanation from trainer David Murphy for the late scratching of MR GALAZI at 7:47am from Race 6.
Race 1: LIEBKE BUILDERS QTIS Two-Year-Old Maiden Plate 1200 metres
MISHANI AVIATOR – Raced greenly for the majority of the event. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed lameness in the off foreleg. Trainer L Ross was advised MISHANI AVIATOR would require a veterinary clearance prior to its next race start.
PRINCE TOBY – Slow to begin. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
BETTY BEERS – Began awkwardly.
Race 2: BOLD DESIGN KITCHENS Class 3 Handicap 1400 metres
SAILOR – Disappointed for a run and held up approaching the 300m before shifting out to obtain clear running near the 150m.
TOLKOWSKY – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight. J Huxtable, rider of fourth placegetter TOLKOWSKY, pleaded guilty to charge under AR131(b) in that he failed to ride his mount out fully to the end of the race and was fined $400. In arriving at penalty Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that J Huxtable’s actions had cost TOLKOWSKY third place.
MAJESTICS REQUEST – Slow to begin.
ROSE OF DUPORTH – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early and middle stages of the event. When asked to comment on the performance rider T Brooker advised after being slow to begin ROSE OF DUPORTH over-raced in the early stages and was not suited by the slow early pace of the event, adding that the horse would derive fitness benefit from tonight’s race.
NATALIEANN – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn.
Race 3: LIEBKE BUILDERS BENCHMARK 70 Handicap 1600 metres
WAY BEYOND – Apprentice J Molloy, rider of WAY BEYOND, had his licence to ride in races suspended for a period of 7 days under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m, 5 more than permitted to commence midnight 11th December up to and including midnight 18th December 2022.
A BIG CHANCE – Slow to begin.
CALM SEEKER – Raced keenly near the 1400m and shifted wider on the trackbefore being permitted to stride forward to race outside the leader from the 900m.
ENDLESS MYSTERY – Slow to begin.
Race 4: BOLD DESIGN KITCHENS Class 1 Plate 1000 metres
ARRIVERDERCI ROMA – As had not started for an extended period, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination, and was cleared to start. As apprentice M Castle was not riding at the meeting, stewards permitted apprentice J Molloy to ride the horse.
SCRUFF'N'STUFF – Slow to begin.
FIRE KIRIN – M Murphy, rider of FIRE KIRIN, was fined $200under AR132(7)(a)(ii) for use of the whip on six occasions prior to the 100m, 1 more than permitted.
BRIGHT DAISY – Rider B Thompson reported the horse travelled comfortably in the run however was disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight. Trainer B Healy advised the horse will be examined by his stable vet tomorrow and he would report back to Stewards any condition which may come to light in the coming days.
LADY AUSTEN – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
CABRINELLA – Began awkwardly. On jumping the left foot of rider S Collett became momentarily dislodged from the near side stirrup iron.When asked to comment on tactics adopted in the home straight, particularly if there was an opportunity to shift wider on the track in the early stages of the straight, rider S Collet advised she initially considered taking a run to the inside of FIRE KIRIN near the 300m, however when that runner shifted ground inwards, she was obliged to momentarily steady before shifting out around FIRE KIRIN’s heels before then shifting out and around BRIGHT DAISY to obtain clear running near the 200m.
Race 5: COACHAI Fillies and Mares Maiden Plate 1000 metres
HOT OR NOT – Jumped in at the start and brushed on the hindquarters by SANKELISKAR. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
MISS TAMBO – Momentarily held up in the early stages of the home straight.
SANKELISKAR – Crowded for room and lost ground when tightened on jumping between HOT OR NOT, which jumped in and DOMUS DEI which jumped out.
VALENTINA EXPRESS – Laid in under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
DOMUS DEI – Jumped out at the start.
VON HERZIN – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
FITZROY PLAIN – Raced greenly in the home straight.
Race 6: UNIQUE POOLS Colts, Geldings and Entires Maiden Plate 1000 metres
BOODUA ROMANCE – Slow to begin.
HUSSONHOFF – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority of the event.
MONT ROYAL – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
PRESSURE AND TIME – Raced wide for the majority of the event. When questioned regarding tactics adopted approaching the home turn and in the home straight, rider T Brooker stated she was issued no specific instructions and that the horse was inclined to over-race and hang out in the early stages of the event. She added in the home straight she was unable to ride PRESSURE AND TIME out in her usual manner due to the horse racing greenly. A post-race veterinary examination revealed symptoms of cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer T Thomas was advised PRESSURE AND TIME would require a veterinary clearance including the satisfactory results of an ECG test and the horse must also trial satisfactorily prior to its next race start.
SLICK SHOOTER – Slow to begin.
SUPER SHARES – From the wide barrier was restrained at the start to a rearward position closer to the rails.
UNDER THE CAP – Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
Race 7: LSE CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 2200 metres
POPULIST – Raced wide in the early stages of the event before progressing forward to obtain the position behind the leader near the 1500m.
LUCAMOUR – Raced wide from the 1400m. Passing the 200m shifted in under pressure resulting in POPULIST being hampered and QUOTENT being bumped. A Thompson, rider of LUCAMOUR, was reprimanded under AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
QUOTANT – As apprentice M Castle was not riding at the meeting and there was no apprentice rider available, Stewards permitted T Brooker to ride the horse. Bumped passing the 200m.
