SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT

EAGLE FARM 20th September 2025
Race 7 LUCIFERS WAY and race 8 WHISKEY TOWER (NZ)

Trainer D Vandyke reported that both LUCIFERS WAY and WHISKEY TOWER (NZ) upon veterinary examination at his private stables on Sunday 21st September 2025 revealed no abnormalities for either horse. Trainer D Vandyke added that it would be his intentions to continue with their current racing prep.

GENERAL

A Thompson is not riding at today’s meeting for acceptable reasons, rider replacements as per meeting summary.

Stewards acceded to a late gear request for RULE MAKER from the stable representative for trainer M Freedman to race the gelding with a tongue tie. Trainer M Freedman was fined $200 pursuant to AR206(2).

Trainer T Mackinnon was fined $100 pursuant LR67(1) in that she failed to declare a rider for HANNABANA by the prescribed time.

Time changes for races 7 & 8 are both forward 1-minute, new race times are;
Race 7 – 4:35pm
Race 8 – 5:10pm

RACE 1: KENDRICK RACING QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1600 M

BUFFALO THEORY Carried in near the 1200m when CONTINGENCY (NZ) shifted in. Near the 300m obliged to steady from the heels of I’M ON FIRE which shifted out. Jockey S Rutledge was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.

CONTINGENCY (NZ) Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped with SILVER SPOON. Raced greenly in the home straight.

INQUICKTIME Near the 1200m obliged to check to avoid the heels of THE CAUSE. Under pressure approaching the 800m and tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Stable representative J Coutze for trainer R Heathcote was advised that INQUICKTIME would be required to perform satisfactorily in an official trial. Stable representative further advised that the gelding would be now sent for a spell.

MEADE'S CAFÉ Hampered approaching the 1200m.

OUR MATE LOCKY Jockey J Bayliss was issued a reprimand pursuant to AR128(1) for not arriving on course and in the jockey’s room 45 minutes prior to his engagement. Raced wide majority of the race.

RULE MAKER Apprentice J McMurray was issued a reprimand pursuant to AR128(1) for not arriving on course and in the jockey’s room 45 minutes prior to his engagement. J McMurray dropped his whip near the 300m.

SILVER SPOON Over raced early and at the 1200m had to steady from heels.

THE CAUSE Approaching the 1200m severely checked and lost ground. Jockey M Rodd, rider of CONTINGENCY (NZ) was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR131(a) in that near 1200m, he failed to make sufficient effort to prevent his mount from shifting in causing BUFFALO THEORY J Huxtable to be taken in and into the rightful running of THE CAUSE, obliging its rider to check and lose its position. Jockey M Rodd’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days commencing midnight 28th of September 2025 until midnight the 7th of October 2025.

Following this event, Jockey J Huxtable became unwell and was examined by the on-course medics. He was deemed unfit to ride in his remaining engagements and would now require a medical certificate prior to riding again. Rider replacements as per the summary.

RACE 2: MAROOCHY RSL CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1400 M

KEITEL Raced keenly in the middle stages.

DON PEDRO Held up from approaching the 500m until the 200m.

I SEE YOU COMING Near the 150m was hampered when tiring and awkwardly placed at the heels of LIBERTY STEPS which shifted out. Jockey T Brooker was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.

LITTLE BEGINNINGS Raced greenly in the home straight.

BILLIONAIR BABY Raced keenly in the middle stages. Near the 600m when over racing, improved onto heels and had to be momentarily steadied. Inclined to lay in, in the straight.

LIBERTY STEPS Jockey T Brooker reported that it was not her intention to race on the speed, however after beginning well and being caught wide she elected to permit her mount stride forward.

ARIAT Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and found the mare to have shifted it’s near hind plate on route to the course and was lame in the same leg and was declared a late scratching at 12:20pm. Trainer A Freeman was advised that a veterinary certificate would be required prior to ARIAT accepting for a future jump out or trial or race.


RACE 3: HAPPY 21ST SOPHIE BENCHMARK 70 HANDICAP 1000 M

MISHANI RENEGADE Slow to begin.

STREAK OF WINNING Approximately 50m from the line, the gelding turned its head, attempted to savage MISHANI RENEGADE. Trainer S Kendrick was advised that STREAK OF WINNING will now be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to accepting for a future race.

PLATINUM LIES Lost its near hind plate in running.

CITY CHICK A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have mild abrasions to the off-hind pastern.


RACE 4: PURE BUILDING APPROVALS MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M

RUPEEZY Began awkwardly and lost ground.

SILVER TAP Raced wide.

GUARDSMAN Raced wide.

PARADING GUS Began awkwardly.

ROYAL MOVER Inclined to lay out under pressure over the concluding stages.

LA PRESTIGE Near the 900m improved onto heels and was steadied.

POWERWISE Raced wide.

ARODASI When over racing near the 900m was steadied from heels.


RACE 5: EVERVIEWS LOWLINE CATTLE STUD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1000 M

BELISTIC MAN Slow to begin. Near the 600m obliged to steady from the heels of LI’L REX. Held up until the early part of the home straight.

A TOUCH FROM FAYT Raced wide.

BOLD AS BRASS Began awkwardly and shifted out on jumping, contacting RUBYDOO.

RUBYDOO Hampered and lost ground at the start.

RAFALE JOLIE Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination prior to the start due to sustaining abrasions at its most recent start and was suitable to start.

HANNABANA Momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of A TOUCH FROM FAYT leaving 700m.

THE PROPHECY Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after making contact with the placegetter stalls in the parade ring and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.

RACE 6: HARCOURTS PROPERTY CENTRE RATINGS BAND 0 - 58 HANDICAP 1600 M

BIT OF GRUNT When asked to comment on the tactics adopted in today’s event, apprentice L Martyn stated that from the wide barrier and with limited speed drawn to her inside, she was obliged to allow the gelding to stride forward rather than being caught wide, further added that in her opinion it may be best suited being ridden with cover. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery.

BOLSHEVIC ROAD Had difficulty obtaining clear running from the 350m to the 100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. When asked to comment on performance, apprentice A Jones stated that BOLSHEVIC ROAD didn’t let down as expected and she recommended to connections that in her opinion the gelding would be better suited dropping back in distance.

BRAVE BOY Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having transportation difficulties on route to the course and was suitable to start.

CHANCE WITH WOLVES When asked to comment on the tactics adopted in today’s event. Apprentice. C Bellamy explained the instructions were to have the horse settle where comfortable. Apprentice C Bellamy further added that after beginning well, the gelding settled further forward than expected when other runners failed to show any early speed. Stewards noted her comments.

RACE 7: COASTLINE MINI GARAGE PINK RIBBON CUP BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1600 M

WAR DRAMA (NZ) Over raced for a short distance between the 1400m and the 1200m when the pace slackened. Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 300m until the 200m.

DIVAKARA Laid in over the final 100m.

HOLY FLASH Began awkwardly and shifted out at the start.

PRIMARY WITNESS Over raced majority.

KAIROS LOUIE (NZ) Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having transportation difficulties on route to the course and was suitable to start. Underwent a post-race veterinary examination which revealed it to have pulled up exhibiting clinical signs of the thumps. When asked to comment on performance jockey B Thompson stated that the gelding raced flat and proved disappointing. Trainer C Zintilis was charged and pleaded guilty pursuant to AR106(1) in that as the trainer of KAIROS LOUIE (NZ) he was responsible for and failed to affix the neck strap which his rider had weighed out with and was fined $200. Stewards note that a neck strap was refitted behind the barriers and KAIROS LOUIE (NZ) carried its correct weight.

SWEET PROPOSAL Near the 1200m steadied from the heels of KAIROS LOUIE (NZ) which shifted in. Jockey B Thompson was advised to exercise greater care when crossing. Near the 1100m when racing keenly, shifted in and brushed the rail. Over raced majority. When asked to comment on performance jockey J Guthmann-Chester stated that the mare raced too keenly which may have had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort.

RACE 8: COASTLINE BMW CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1300 M

JEMOMA ALPILAGE – R Dolan – Slow to begin. Carried wider rounding the home turn when OLE BAZZLE (NZ) shifted out to improve. Eased down over the concluding stages. Lost its off-fore plate. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities. Trainer K Kemp was advised that JEMOMA ALPILAGE would now be required to perform to stewards’ satisfaction in an official trial prior to racing.

SMART SHAZZA Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 350m and the 200m.

KAFFIR LILY Very slow to begin.

BRODIES VOYAGE Over raced majority of the event.
