SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
GENERAL
Trainer Mr. J Bruce was reprimanded pursuant to LR68(1) for the late scratchings of OOHLALOUVRE, CASTERLY ROCK and SUBDUE at 7.40am. Steward’s when considering the matter noted the circumstances and Mr Bruce’s record.
Race 6 – Jockey Ryan Wiggins was fined $200 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
RACE 1: JOYE FAMILY QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1400 M
Prior to the declaration of correct weight Jockey D Turner rider of VINTAGE VIBES reviewed the official films regarding a possible objection and on review declined to proseed.
KOZAK PRINCE – Bumped on jumping. Over raced approaching the 900m and was steadied from heels.
LOCK IN – Bumped near the 300m.
MYSTIC ASCOT – Bumped on jumping. Inconvenienced near the 900m when trailing VAN DE BAN which lost ground. Co Trainers A & T Sweeney were fined $100 pursuant to LR67(1) for failing to notify a rider by the prescribed time.
VAN DE BAN - Held up for clear running passing the 400m. Near the 900m when racing ungenerously momentarily raced in restricted room to the inside of NIGHTLINE which shifted in slightly, obliging VAN DE BAN’S rider to check his mount. Jockey K Matheson rider of NIGHTLINE was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
NIGHTLINE (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Laid in when placed under pressure from the 300m. Bumped with LOCK IN near the 300m.
VINTAGE VIBES – Bumped on jumping. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight. Raced in restricted room leaving the 100m when NIGHTLINE laid in and was steadied. K Matheson rider of NIGHTLINE was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a).
VERONA GIRL – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Steadied from heels near the 900m.
RACE 2: STOCKYARD VALLEY WEDDINGS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400 M
KOJAK (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted in bumping with MASTERS APPRENTICE and lost ground. Held up rounding the home turn.
MASTERS APPRENTICE – Bumped on jumping before being awkwardly placed on heels and lost ground.
MOONAN QUARTZ - Bumped on jumping.
EXPRESS STAR – Began awkwardly, steading from heels shortly thereafter and lost ground.
A BIT DUSTY – Bumped on jumping. Laid in under pressure over the final 250m.
BOLD TYRANT – Leaving the 200m was steadied from the heels of the weakening HUSSY EMPRESS.
STILL UNWANTED -Began awkwardly. Raced wide.
TWILIGHT STEPS –Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight.
RACE 3: FRASER-KIRK PLASTIC SURGERY RATINGS BAND 0 - 55 HANDICAP 1000 M
BENEDICT ARNOLD – Laid in throughout and performed poorly. Post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer J Bellamy was advised that the gelding would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming. Trainer J Bellamy was fined $200 pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting and racing the gelding with incorrect gear that being red pre-race ear muffs when its declared gear is fixed earmuffs.
BILLY BOOM - Began awkwardly.
HIT – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
BRILLIANT EIGHT (NZ) - Raced in restricted room near the 500m to the inside of HIT. Apprentice O Webb was advised to exercise greater care regarding this incident. Near the 200m raced in restricted room to the inside of BENEDICT ARNOLD which laid in.
RIVA D'AMOR – Hampered shortly after the start when BENEDICT ARNOLD laid in. Improved onto heels near the 300m before shifting out to secure clear running.
ACCEPT POWER - Slow to begin.
RACE 4: CIVIL SCAPES CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1000 M
A TOUCH FROM FAYT – Began awkwardly.
TAKE A BOW – Slow to begin. Lost its near hind plate.
HOME ZONE - Began awkwardly. When asked to comment regarding the mares performance Jockey C Collis stated that in his opinion it may benefit from a step up in distance and was inclined to lay out when placed under pressure in the home straight.
MISS MERCY - Began awkwardly. Raced wide. Rider reported that the mare on pulling up made a respiratory noise. A subsequent veterinary examination confirmed a harsh respiratory noise on auscultation of the airway. Trainer S Kendrick was advised that the mare would require a veterinary clearance to include the results of an endoscopic examination prior to resuming.
RACE 5: SHERRIN RENTALS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 2200 M
WAGGA WAGGA (IRE) – Slow to begin. Bumped and forced wider rounding the home turn. Jockey M Hellyer was advised to exercise greater care regarding this incident.
ENTERPRISE PRIVATE -Slow to begin.
KAYLEEN'S PROFIT (NZ) - Bumped and forced wider rounding the home turn.
FLASH PRINCE – Held up for clear running from entering the home straight until approaching the 300m. Near the 250m improved onto the heels of SOUTHOFTHEBORDER (M Hellyer) before shifting in when attempting to secure clear running and then becoming awkwardly placed on the heels of AU REVOIR (C Collis) contacting its heels, blundering and causing Apprentice O Kendall to become unbalanced.
LA VITTORIA – Steadied from heels approaching the post on the first occasion when FLASH PRINCE shifted in. Apprentice O Kendal was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a).
HELL OF A PRINCE – Began awkwardly.
RACE 6: ROSS MACLEAN FELLOWSHIP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1600 M
HE'SGOTTHESAY – Cast its off fore plate enroute to the barriers which was reaffixed, underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
LET'S DO IT AGAIN (NZ) – Required farrier attention to its near hind plate prior to entering the mounting yard. Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start.
HUSSY EMPRESS – Slow to begin.
YOU THINK SO – Commenced to weaken leaving the 650m and finished a distant last. When asked to comment, Jockey M Murphy could offer no explanation for the mare’s poor performance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer R Chatterton was advised that the mare is required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to resuming.
BOLD TYRANT - Cast its near fore plate on jumping.
RACE 7: SYMONS LAXON RACING BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP 1300 M
OUT OF ACES - Over raced near the 900m. Held up rounding the home turn.
BADDA BOOM BABY – Laid in over the final 200m obliging its rider to stop and correct on several occasions.
MISHANI PERSUASION – Became awkward in its action near the 1200m. Over raced near the 900m.
AUTOFICTION – Began awkwardly then hampered and lost ground.
SAVVY BEE (NZ) – Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
BOLD HUSSAR – Raced wide.
UCELLE – Began awkwardly.
THE LOVE OF MARY – Slow to begin.
