GENERAL
As jockeys J. Molloy and R. Stewart were indisposed, and apprentice O. Webb was injured, rider replacements were made as per the Raceday Summary.
Stewards approved the following overweight request:
Race 1. D. Smith +1kg
RACE 1: AIRMASTER CLASS 2 HANDICAP 2200 Metres
SIR LAMORAK (IRE) – Cast the near hind plate.
LEGEND OF KINGS (GB) – Jockey K. Wilson- Taylor pled guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) in that he used his whip on 10 occasions prior to the 100m. Rider Wilson-Taylor’s license to ride in races was suspended for seven (7) days commencing midnight the 22nd of November and ending at midnight the 29th of November 2025.
WAGGA WAGGA (IRE) – Raced wide in the early stages. Slow to begin. Jockey D. Moor reported that the gelding was obliged to work too hard in the early stages and may appreciate being ridden more conservatively in future. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be displaying a mild cough. Stable representative M. Eggleston advised Stewards he would report back anything that may come to light to explain the performance.
SUPER FAIR – When the pace of the race slackened near the 800m, shifted to a three wide position and raced wide from that point onwards.
FLASH PRINCE – Jockey B. Thompson could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Co-trainer C. Geran advised Stewards he would be discussing with the owners the immediate racing future and would report back any findings that may come to light that may have affected the performance.
BLUEPRINT – Began awkwardly and lost ground. Approaching the 800m, when the pace of the race slackened, improved onto the heels of WAGGA WAGGA and had to be steadied.
ANOTHER DAZZLER – Slow to begin.
RACE 2: XXXX CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
KING SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.
ENCOURAGED – Began awkwardly.
LEVAR – Hampered on jumping and lost ground.
KING OF THE JUNGLE – Rider C. Graham dropped her near side rein over the concluding stages.
RACE 3: VANTAGE BUILDING GROUP CLASS 6 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
SHAKO – Change of tactics – to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly. A post race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
KATE'S TIARA – Slow to begin.
RACE 4: SPORTS HUB MAIDEN HANDICAP 1600 Metres
LUMINIZED (NZ) – Trainer P. Shailer was reprimanded pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting with incorrect gear.
MASTERS APPRENTICE – Raced wide throughout. Commenced to weaken from approaching the 800m and rider C. Collis retired the gelding from the event at the top of the straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed MASTERS APPRENTICE to have bled from both nostrils from the first time. Trainer D. Hansen was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
MELANCOLIE – Steadied from heels near the 800m. Inconvenienced approaching the 400m when LUMINIZED shifted out.
O'EXPLOSIVE – Slow to begin.
ZOUBLIME – Trainer T. Mackinnon was advised that a warning would be placed on mare’s pre race manners when she proved reluctant to proceed to the start.
ZOUMAN ALONG – Slow to begin. Held up for clear running between the 600m and the 500m.
TINTAURA – Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced and lost ground when MASTERS APPRENTICE commenced to weaken near the 800m.
MAKING EYES (NZ) – Connections advised of a change of tactics – to be ridden further forward if circumstances permit. Ridden accordingly.
ARTISTIC TOUCH – Approaching the 350m buffeted between runners.
ELEMISS – Raced wide throughout. Inconvenienced and lost ground when MASTERS APPRENTICE commenced to weaken near the 800m.
Due to lightning activity in the area, Stewards temporarily postponed the remaining four races. As the storm activity continued in the area, Stewards consulted the Bureau Of Meteorology and as the storm activity was likely to continue for at least an hour to an hour and a half, Stewards called off the remainder of the meeting at 8.08pm.
