SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
 
EAGLE FARM 27/12/25
Race 8 – Trainer B Healey subsequently reported that COSMIC FIRE was found to have a small hoof abscess which had been detected in the geldings off foreleg which has been treated. Mr. Healey further added that the gelding will continue to be assessed before continuing its prep.

GENERAL
 
Jockey V Duric was reprimanded pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride for which he was to be overweight in race 5, rider replacement as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.
 
Jockey J Huxtable is unable to ride at today’s meeting due to being ill. Rider replacements as per the Stewards Raceday Summary.
 
RACE 1 – SHERRIN RENTALS MAIDEN PLATE 1800M
 
ENIDZEL - Jockey A Thompson reported that, when asked for an effort on straightening, his mount failed to quicken and ran to the line in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have heat stress.
 
O’EXPLOSIVE - Slow to begin. Over raced in the early stages when being restrained. Passing the 800m steadied after improving onto the heels of Thompson. Moment held up for clear running entering the home straight then shifted in to improve.
 
PARAT SIBIFORTUNAM - Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
Track upgraded to a Good 4 following race 1.
 
RACE 2 – KEVLACAT POWER BOATS AUSTRALIA BENCHMARK 78 HANDICAP 1800M
 
CHAYSE ‘N’ ARTIE - Slow to begin. Inclined to lay in, in the home straight.
 
WAPITI - Jockey M Du Plessis stated that after dislodging shoe near the 1050m WAPITI commenced to hang in for the remainder of the event.
 
KORUTO - Slow to begin.
 
ARCHER’S GAME - Inclined to lay in, in under pressure in the home straight.
 
MOB BUSTER - Over raced in the middle stages of the event.
 
EVELYN MAY (NZ) - When questioned in regard to EVELYN MAY (NZ)’s poor performance in today’s event, jockey S Cormack stated that he was instructed to come out and lob in a position, which the mare ended up settling in a spot behind MOB BUSTER. Jockey S Cormack stated that he opted to shift wider and ask EVERLYN MAY (NZ) for an effort to improve into the race, considering the mare tends to sharpen up with the blinkers added. He added that after asking for an effort, she failed to travel and weakened from near the 600m and proved disappointing in today’s event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a poor post-race recovery and heat stress.
 
RACE 3 – HIGGINS COATINGS CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1200M
 
BOLD COMIC - Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide until working forward to be outside the leader near the 700m. Lost the nasal strip in running.
 
SULTRY SIREN - Inclined to lay out in the home straight.
 
STANISLAUS - Slow to begin. Over raced whilst being restrained shortly after the start when NOBLE DECREE (NZ) shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey R Maloney was severely reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.
 
BRIGHT BLONDE - Slow to begin. Restrained at the start to obtain a position. Momentarily held up for a short distance passing 500m. Bumped when SWEET HESITATION shifted out, as a result jockey A Mallyon became momentarily unbalanced as a result.
 
ARABIAN ROSE - Slow to begin. Inclined to lay out in the home straight.
 
RACE 4 – WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1000M
 
EARN TO BURN - Bumped at the start with LUCKY LASS which began awkwardly shifted out. Raced wide until working forward to the lead near the 600m.
 
WOOTTEN HYDE - Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
BEFORE ANYONE ELSE - Approaching the 900m had to be steadied onto heels when over racing. Held up for clear running in the home straight before shifting in passing the 300m to obtain clear running. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed BEFORE ANYONE ELSE to have a bi lateral bleed for the first occasion. Trainer T Gollan was advised of his requirements pursuant to AR79(4).
 
LUCKY LASS - Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped with EARN TO BURN.
 
RACE 5 – MARTIN COLLINS AUSTRALIA MAIDEN HANDICAP 1400M
 
SAN JERONIMO - Raced wide. Laid in under pressure in the early part of the home straight.
 
NARUKAMI - Hampered and lost ground at the start. Had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding on entering the home straight.
 
POSSIBILITIES - Lost its near fore shoe on arrival to the barriers and had to be replaced. Raced wide.
 
EVADE THE GAME - Over raced in the early stages and passing the 900m had to be steadied after improving onto the heels of TUSCALOOSA CHIEF. Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Passing 300m was momentarily inconvenienced and having to be steadied to avoid the heels of RED SAMOVAR which shifted in under riding. Jockey K Wilson-Taylor, rider of RED SAMOVAR was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground.
 
VAL DE GRISE - Began awkwardly. Jockey D Moor stated that VAL DE GRISE having its first start would derive benefit from today’s performance but would benefit from the application of blinkers.
 
KOBABILITY - Raced wide.
 
RED SAMOVAR - Raced wide.
 
ROCKING FROCKS - Began awkwardly.
 
BATTLE WORTHY - Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide.
 
BLACKJACK - Began awkwardly and shifted in onto POSSIBILITIES who was taken in onto NARAKUMI which was hampered and lost ground. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
RACE 6 – ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1400M
 
KATDEEL - Began awkwardly.
 
PRESTAR - When questioned regarding PRESTAR’s disappointing performance, jockey M Rodd stated his mount over raced in the early stages but after being able to settle in middle stages, failed to improve when placed under pressure approaching the 400m. He further added that in his opinion, the colt, may benefit from being gelded. Stable representative for T & C McEvoy stated that the connections would intend to consider gelding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
HEADHUNTER - Inclined to lay in under pressure in the home straight.
 
RACE 7 – DOUBLE R GROUP CLASS 2 HANDICAP 1200M
 
EXTREME DIAMOND - Commenced to weaken and was then retired out of the event near the 200m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed EXTREME DIAMOND to have a bi lateral bleed for the first occasion. Trainer representative D Maher was advised of his requirements pursuant to AR79(4).
 
A LOT OF BOOTY - Raced wide until near the 800m.
 
BLUE ALLURE - Obliged to alter course passing the 200m in order to obtain clear running.
 
DAVIKAR - Slow to begin.
 
RETAINER - Raced in rest room over the final 100m.
 
RACE 8 – TAB BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1000M
 
MIO SORRENTO - Slow to begin. Trainer J Healy advised that it would be their intention to retire the gelding.
 
KAI MONDO - Laid out under pressure in the home straight onto BELLE AFFAIR.
 
BREAK FREE - Bumped on jumping with NEW HAMPSHIRE.
 
NEW HAMPSHIRE - Passing the 200m was obliged to shift in to improve into clear running.
 
ENCOURAGED - Raced wide.
 
SIR MAURICE - Bumped on jumping with MAKE IT SO. Raced wide.
 
BELLE AFFAIR - Laid in under pressure in the straight.
 
MAKE IT SO - Began awkwardly and bumped with SIR MAURICE. Raced in rest room leaving the 700m.
