GENERAL

As Jockey J. Lloyd was injured, he was replaced as per the Stewards summary. Jockey Lloyd was advised that he would require a medical clearance prior to next riding.
 
RACE 1:HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY QTIS TWO-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1000M

SUMMER VIBE – On arrival at the barriers, blood was found present in the colts near-side nostril. SUMMER VIBE underwent a veterinary examination and was declared a late scratching at 12:28pm. Upon the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all monies invested on SUMMER VIBE be refunded in full with the following deductions to apply:
 
1st HOME TOMURRA – 7c win, 13c place
2nd DOLLY BOOM – 2c place
3rd PEARL DU JOUR – 13c place
 
Following the race, a veterinary examination revealed the colt to have a minor laceration in the near-side nostril. Stewards accepted that the blood present was attributed to external trauma and for this reason, no further action was taken.
 
HOME TOMURRA – Raced wide with cover throughout.

SAINT VIN ROUGE – Bumped on jumping. Raced greenly in the middle stages. When asked to comment, Jockey B. Thompson confirmed the colt raced greenly, adding that it will take benefit from todays run.
 
DOLLY BOOM – Raced wide without cover throughout.
 
KAVA EXPRESS – Blundered on jumping.
 
MAGANISTA – Bumped on jumping.
 
PEARL DU JOUR – When asked to comment on the performance, Jockey J. Stanley reported his mount laid out in the middle stages and didn’t stretch out when placed under pressure. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.  Trainer L. Birchley was advised that the filly would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
RAGING RAIDER – Raced greenly in the middle stages and when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight.
 
ELLA'S LEGACY – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped SAINT VIN ROUGE. Jockey G. Cartwright reported her mount was disappointing when placed under pressure in the home straight.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer G. Doughty advised it is the intention to send the filly for a spell. Nonetheless, Trainer Doughty was advised the filly would be required to officially trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to next racing.
 
SALUKI – Jockey T. Marshall reported his mount hung out throughout the event and when pulling up, he noted that the filly’s bit had pulled through its mouth and recommended to the stable to apply a ring bit at its next start.


RACE 2:HIGGINS COATINGS MAIDEN HANDICAP 1800M

BIG TECH – Bumped on jumping. Shifted out over the final 200m.
 
I'M ON FIRE – Bumped on jumping.
 
MOOLOO MAN – Slow into stride. Jockey J. Taylor reported it was not his intention to lead, however when caught wide in the early stages, his mount commenced to race keenly and for this reason he allowed the gelding to stride forward to the lead near the 1200m. Trainer B. Robinson confirmed the instructions and advised Stewards it is the intention to send the gelding for a spell.
 
CONTINENT – Began awkwardly, shifted out and bumped BIG TECH.
 
MISSILE AWAY – Cast its near-hind plate.


RACE 3:BARRIER REEF POOLS QTIS THREE-YEAR-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200M

PONTEVICO – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.

TEXAS – Bumped on jumping.
 
WORTHY STUNNAH – Bumped on jumping. Held up from the 600m until leaving the 500m. Inconvenienced near the 150m when LONTARA (C. Sutherland) shifted out under pressure. Apprentice C. Sutherland was advised to stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.
 
LONTARA – Slow to begin. Raced keenly in the early stages.
 
TAGA SMILE – Apprentice B. Osmond could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance of the filly.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities.
 
JOLLY JAPES – Began awkwardly and bumped WORTHY STUNNAH.
 
KAIPAKI ROAD – Passing the 1100m, severely tightened for room and had to be checked when racing between BONNIE BOUQUET and ROYAL RIDDLE which shifted in abruptly across the heels of CASSIA COUNTY, after having shifted in and becoming awkward at heels.
 
LUCCI – Raced wide for the majority. Near the 250m, steadied after improving onto the heels of the tiring TAGA SMILE.
 
ROYAL RIDDLE – Lost its nearside winker shortly after the start. Near the 1100m, shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and became awkwardly placed at the heels of CASSIA COUNTY when that runner shifted out slightly. As a result of this, was obliged to check and shifted in, severely tightening both KAIPAKI ROAD and BONNIE BOUQUET. Improved onto heels near the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
WINDIGO – Near the 1100m, bumped by ROYAL RIDDLE when that runner was being directed out in an attempt to avoid the heels of CASSIA COUNTY and a shirt distance later was obliged to check when tightened for room by ZARLA which shifted in and away from TEXAS which shifted in.
 
BONNIE BOUQUET – Bumped and became unbalanced at the start. Passing the 1100m, was obliged to shift out slightly when WORTHY STUNNAH shifted out and a short distance later, was severely tightened for room and had to be checked when ROYAL RIDDLE shifted in across the heels of CASSIA COUNTY. Had difficulty securing clear running passing the 300m and continued to race in restricted room until near the 200m.
 
CASSIA COUNTY – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a laceration to its near hind fetlock, consistent with having been galloped on. Trainer T. Mackinnon was advised that the filly would require a veterinary clearance prior to resuming.
 
ZARLA – Bumped on jumping. Shifted in and away from TEXAS and became awkward after making contact with WINDIGO. Following this incident, was steadied when awkwardly placed at the heels of TEXAS. Improved onto heels near the 500m and had to be steadied.
 
ZOUSAIN GIRL – Slow to begin. Raced wide for the majority. Inconvenienced near the 150m.


RACE 4:ACCESS INSULATION SUNSHINE COAST CLASS 3 HANDICAP 1200M

ORIENTE – Shifted out at the start. Near the 800m, steadied from the heels of EKHIDNA (A. Sewell) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Jockey A. Sewell was severely reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident.

SCHEHERAZADE – Bumped on jumping. Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
 
SUPERHERO – Slow to begin. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery and the thumps.
 
READY AZZ EVA – Held up rounding the home turn.
 
OUT OF TURN – Bumped on jumping.
 
CRACKENTHORPE (NZ) – Raced wide until near the 700m.
 
NATIONAL INTEREST – Held up approaching the home turn.
 
KEEP SAFE – Held up rounding the home turn.


RACE 5:SHERRIN RENTALS BENCHMARK 68 HANDICAP 1000M

ARISPHERE – Raced wide with cover throughout.

REVALENE  – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after being kicked behind the barriers by another runner and was cleared to start.  Began awkwardly. Approaching the 100m, improved onto the heels of BILLIONAIR BABY, steadied and was obliged to shift in.
 
BILLIONAIR BABY  – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination after a small amount of blood was found on its lip behind the barriers and was cleared to start. After being fractious in the barriers, was slow to begin. Laid out in the middle stages. Held up for clear running from the 150m and went to the finish line without being fully tested.
 
BONFIRE SPARK – Raced wide without cover throughout. Laid out during the middle stages.
 
HEART AND SPIRIT – Began awkwardly.
 
MISSILE ONE – Raced wide with cover throughout.
 
PRESOCRATICS – Began awkwardly.
 
NEPRAVDA – Cast its off-fore plate.
 

RACE 6:WIMMERS PREMIUM SOFT DRINKS BENCHMARK 58 HANDICAP 1000M

FIGHTING IDOL – Began awkwardly, shifted in and bumped BLITZWATER.
 
EXCENIA – Raced keenly in the early stages.

BLITZWATER – Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
UNFAITHFUL – Slow into stride. Near the 700m, whilst racing keenly, steadied after improving to the inside of OVER DRAFT (B. Youngberry) which shifted in when insufficiently clear. Apprentice B. Youngberry was reprimanded for careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) for this incident. Continued to race ungenerously in the middle stages. Had some difficulty obtaining clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
 
THE SOUR – Began awkwardly. Near the 700m, laid out onto the heels of LI’L REX (G. Cartwright) which also laid in at the same point. Jockey J. Bayliss reported his mount was inclined to lay out during the early and middle stages. Cast its near hind plate in running.
 
LI'L REX – Jockey G. Cartwright reported her mount was inclined to lay in during the early and middle stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off hindleg. Trainer D. Murphy was advised the gelding would require a veterinary clearance prior to next racing.
 

RACE 7:DOUBLE R GROUP BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1400M

OLE BAZZLE (NZ) – Passing the 1200m, restrained from heels when the pace of the race slackened. Continued to over race at heels until passing the 850m and at that point shifted wider on the track and raced three-wide from that point onwards.  
 
DOUBLE WHAMMY – Raced wide for the majority.
 
SIMPLY FUN – Passing the 1200m, restrained from heels when the pace of the race slackened.

BODHRAN – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers after making contact with a fence in the mounting enclosure and was cleared to start.

BROADBEACH MISS – Began awkwardly and bumped. Over raced in the early and middle stages.
 
JAM PACKED – Passing the 1200m, restrained from heels when the pace of the race slackened. Shifted out in an attempt to secure clear running after passing the 400m to the outside of SIMPLY FUN, however was disappointed for a run when OLE BAZZLE maintained its line to the outside of that runner and as a result had to be steadied before shifting back to the inside. Remained held up for clear running and was again disappointed for a run and steadied near the 250m between SIMPLY FUN and BETTER DRAW which shifted out. Was unable to obtain clear running until approaching the 100m after shifting to the inside of BETTER DRAW.
 
LAMBERTINA (NZ) – Bumped on jumping. Raced keenly in the early stages. Raced wide for the majority.
 
IHAVESEENTHELIGHT – Raced keenly in the early stages. Passing the 1200m, restrained from heels when the pace of the race slackened.
 
BETTER DRAW (NZ) – Began awkwardly.


RACE 8:TAB BENCHMARK 65 HANDICAP 1800M

DIVAKARA – Raced wide without cover throughout.  Raced in restricted room from the 250m until near the 150m between TAP HIGH and TENNESSEE WHISKEY (D. Peisley) which shifted out under pressure. Jockey D. Peisley was advised to exercise greater care, stop riding and straighten his mount in similar circumstances.
 
TENNESSEE WHISKEY (NZ) – Jockey D. Peisley was reprimanded pursuant to AR128(2) for failing to seek permission from Stewards prior to leaving the course.
 
TAP HIGH – Raced keenly in the early and middle stages. Apprentice R. Thorburn reported his mount wanted to lay in from the 600m.
 
ARDUOUS – Apprentice E. Lang pleaded guilty to a charge pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using her whip on 11 occasions prior to the 100m, 14 in totality. Apprentice Lang’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 9 days to commence midnight 16th May 2026 and to expire midnight 25th May 2026.
 
KERKORIAN – Stood flat footed at the start and lost significant ground. Trainer J. Bayliss was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its barrier manners.
