Race 1 - BOSS ELEVATORS CLASS 1 HANDICAP 2200 Metres
SEALORD (NZ) – Passing the 1200m, placed in restricted room and had to be steadied when BUFFALO THEORY shifted out when not sufficiently clear. Jockey A. Thompson, rider of BUFFALO THEORY was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from the offside nostril. Co-trainer M. Sears was advised that SEALORD must gallop 1000m in the presence of a Steward prior to racing again.
MOANA NUI (NZ) – Began awkwardly.
DURNESS (NZ) –Began awkwardly and lost ground. Over raced during the middle stages before being allowed to stride forward to the lead near the 1100m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have bled from both nostrils for the first occasion. Co-trainer C. Geran was advised of the provisions of AR79(4).
AMELIORATION – Approaching the 1900m, whilst over racing, steadied from the heels of DURNESS when that runner was taken in by SEALORD when not sufficiently clear. Rider of SEALORD, apprentice B. Youngberry was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding. Continued to over race until approaching the 1200m.
BUFFALO THEORY – Eased down in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer L. Birchley advised that he would discuss the gelding’s immediate racing future with connections. Mr Birchley was advised that the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
Race 2 - RIVERS INSURANCE BROKERS QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN HANDICAP 1000 Metres
BETTY'S BOY – Began awkwardly.
BOOM CHIKA WOW – Raced wide throughout.
DIAMOND BOOM – Began awkwardly. Approaching the 300m, had to be steadied when JUST JIMMY shifted out when insufficiently clear and BOOM CHIKA WOW which shifted in momentarily. Jockey P. Hamblin, rider of JUST JIMMY, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding.
NINJA POWER – Raced greenly throughout, and when approaching the 600m became awkward in its action, hung out and lost ground. Trainer B. Jones was advised that a warning will be placed on the colt’s racing manners.
BOOTS – Became awkward in its action over the concluding stages and blundered.
GROENING – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Had difficulty securing clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
PIERANTES – Began awkwardly.
BOUDICA QUEEN – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
TRAMCA – Raced wide throughout.
MISHANI ROZAY – Approaching the 600m, had to be steadied and lost ground when avoiding the heels of NINJA POWER when that runner lost ground whilst racing greenly. Trainer L. Gough was fined $100 pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the filly without a nose roll which is part of its advertised gear.
Race 3 - ARCHERS THE STRATA PROFESSIONALS CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1000 Metres
FLYWHEEL – Shortly after the start placed in restricted room and raced ungenerously when restrained.
TONNEOFGRIT – Slow to begin.
SUPER DAISY – Raced wide throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a small laceration to the near hind pastern.
KING OF THE JUNGLE – Raced keenly in the early stages.
Following the running of this race, the track was downgraded to a Soft (7).
Race 4 - HIGGINS BM70 HANDICAP 1600 Metres
JUNE – Raced wide throughout. Over raced in the middle stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
WRIGLEY FIELD – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
HULKAMANIA – Improved onto heels near the 700m and had to be steadied. Again improved onto heels near the 500m and had to be checked.
MOISSANITE – Raced wide throughout. Over raced in the middle stages.
BECAMO – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
VANCITY – Rider R. Dolan lost the use of his whip momentarily near the 250m.
Race 5 - GUARDIAN BODY CORPORATE AUDIT SERVICES CLASS 3 PLATE 1200 Metres
RAZORS – Held up rounding the home turn and after passing the 400m, became awkward at heels when attempting to establish a run between VIN SANTO and COL BURN when there was questionable racing room. After passing the 300m, was obliged to shift back to the inside in order to secure clear running.
ULTIMATE OUTCOME – Began awkwardly.
BELIEVE IN ANGELS (NZ) – Raced wide throughout. After passing the 400m, attempted to improve to the inside of MISS FUNNY HONEY and was disappointed for a run and as a result, shifted out abruptly when approaching the 300m in order to secure clear running.
COL BURN - Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Near the 100m, bumped heavily and forced wider when CUTEPI shifted out under pressure.
CRACKENTHORPE (NZ) – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
INFLUENTIAL – Improved onto heels approaching the 400m and had to be steadied. Obliged to steady from heels near the 100m when attempting to improve between ULTIMATE OUTCOME and RAZORS which shifted in slightly under pressure.
VIN SANTO (NZ) - Laid out under pressure in the home straight. Near the 100m, bumped heavily and forced wider when CUTEPI shifted out under pressure. Jockey M. Rodd, rider of CUTEPI, was reprimanded pursuant to AR131(a) for careless riding in this incident.
BRIGHT BLONDE – Slow to begin. Over raced and had to be steadied from heels when the pace of the race slackened after passing the 800m. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
CUTEPI – Laid out under pressure in the home straight.
MISS FUNNY HONEY – When attempting to find cover in the early stages, over raced whilst being restrained. Raced wide throughout.
Race 6 - LANNOCK STRATA FINANCE MAIDEN PLATE 1200 Metres
The start of this race was delayed approximately 3 minutes when STORMING HOME became cast under the barriers and was scratched on veterinary advice at 8.03pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets on STORMING HOME be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st EMBER ROYALE 17c win, 14c place
2nd MACHTIG HAVANAGILA 20c place
3rd WRITTEN REALITY 19c place
A post race veterinary examination revealed a laceration to the off hind stifle and the off hind fetlock. Trainer J. Bruce was advised that STORMING HOME will require veterinary clearance and a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
QUICKSI – Stood flatfooted and lost considerable ground. Trainer T. Bowman was advised that QUICKSI will be required to barrier trial prior to racing again.
KIAVELA – Underwent a pre race veterinary examination after being drawn alongside STORMING HOME which became fractious and cast in the barriers, before being cleared to start.
PREETHICAL – Raced wide throughout. After passing the 200m, steadied from the heels of KIAVELA which shifted out when not fully clear. Apprentice B. Youngberry pled guilty to a charge of careless riding pursuant to AR131(a) in that after passing the 200m as the rider of KIAVELA she did fail to stop riding and straighten when that mare was shifting out across the rightful running of PREETHICAL (B. Osmond) causing contact with that horse and causing that horse to lose its rightful running when its rider was obliged to take hold. Apprentice B. Youngberry’s license to ride in races was suspended for 9 days commencing at midnight the 20th of September 2026 until midnight the 29th of September 2026. Apprentice Youngberry was advised of her right of appeal.
EMBER ROYALE – Raced wide throughout. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn and in the early stages of the home straight.
SPIRIT OF TORQUE – Raced wide throughout.
EXOBRAZEN – Slow to begin. Had some difficulty securing clear running for a short distance approaching the 200m.
Race 7 - STRATA COMPLIANCE SOLUTIONS BM60 HANDICAP 1800 Metres
GOT YOURSELF A GUN – Slow to begin.
MAD ANA – Shifted wider passing the 1200m and raced wide from that point onwards.
EVADE THE GAME – Trainer P. Jenkins was fined $100 pursuant to AR106(2) for presenting the mare without a tongue tie which is part of its advertised gear.
Race 8 - ARCHERS THE STRATA PROFESSIONALS MAIDEN PLATE 1800 Metres
The start of this race was delayed approximately 4 minutes when MIZFAWAZ required farrier attention on arrival at the barriers after casting a right hind plate when fractious in the enclosure. EXODINI also underwent a veterinary examination on arrival at the barriers and was found to be lame in the left foreleg and declared a late scratching at 9.03pm. Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets on EXODINI be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
1st A LITTLE DUSTY 1c win, 2c place
2nd KOWLOON MAGNATE 1c place
3rd BRASS BAND 2c place
Trainer T. Hurley was advised that EXODINI will require a veterinary clearance prior to racing again.
A BIT DUSTY – Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
BLOOD RED - Slow to begin.
BOBBY'S MY MATE – Rider B. Thornton reported his mount travelled well however, when asked for an effort in the home straight the gelding did not quicken as anticipated and in his opinion, this was due to tonight’s soft track conditions.
BRASS BAND – Rider C. Graham reported her mount over raced in the early and middle stages, and in her opinion, this had a detrimental effect on the gelding’s finishing effort.
IRON BULL – Rider D. Turner reported that in his opinion, his mount failed to handle tonight’s soft track conditions.
KOWLOON MAGNATE – Apprentice R. Houston reported his mount was inclined to lay in throughout.
MISSILE AWAY – Slow to begin. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
MAJESTIC MORN – Slow to begin. When passing the 1600m, had to be checked from the heels of MIZFAWAZ when that runner was steadied. Held up for clear running from approaching the 600m until leaving the 500m. A post race veterinary examination revealed a minor abrasion to the right fore heel bulb.
MIZFAWAZ – Underwent a prerace veterinary inspection after becoming fractious in the enclosure. Trainer T. Bita was advised that a warning would be placed on the mare for its prerace manners. Slow to begin.
