SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT
GENERAL
Stewards permitted jockey R. Maloney to ride 0.5kg overweight in race 7 on BOLD NOMAD.
Trainer S. Kendrick was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) in that he failed to declare a rider for VAREJAO by the prescribed time.
Trainer L. Gough was fined $200 pursuant to LR67(1) in that he failed to declare a rider for MISHANI ROZAY by the prescribed time.
Jockey B. Butler was replaced in race one on INSAIN LADY for acceptable reasons. Rider replacement as per the meeting summary.
Race 1 - CARGO TRANSPORT SYSTEMS FILLIES AND MARES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M
SEAPHIRA – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having started in an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
ALARMED – Slow to begin.
TARGARYEN QUEEN – Improved onto heels approaching the 300m, shifted wider to secure clear running.
MISS KIT KAT - Over raced in the early stages. Raced wide.
THE RASCAL – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having started in an extended period of time and was cleared to start. Contacted the running rail after exiting the mounting enclosure and subsequently underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Slow to begin.
INSAIN LADY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to working hard on the way to the barriers and was cleared to start. Raced ungenerously early and wide throughout. Weakened In the run to the finish and lost the near fore plate in running. Trainer A. Simpson was advised INSAIN LADY would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards due to the mare’s racing manners. Trainer A. Simpson advised stewards that INSAIN LADY would now go for a spell.
YELLOW CRATE - Near the 150m improved onto the heels of SEAPHIRA which shifted in and was held up over the concluding stages.
Race 2 - WALSH CONSULTING ENGINEERS COLTS, GELDINGS AND ENTIRES MAIDEN HANDICAP 1200 M
SWAGGERING (NZ) – Began awkwardly and shifted out.
MONOTONE – Held up approaching the home turn before shifting wider leaving the 400m.
PEANUTS – Hampered and taken wider at the start when SWAGGERING (NZ) began awkwardly and shifted out.
JUNGLE WONDER - Improved onto heels approaching the finish line.
WHY SO ANGRY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having started in an extended period and was cleared to start. Near the 1000m was placed in restricted room to the inside of NO WALLET REG which when racing ungenerously, shifted in and away from VAREJAO.
PURPOSELY – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to not having started in an extended period and was cleared to start. Approaching the 100m improved onto heels, shifted wider and held up for the remainder.
VAREJAO – Raced wide until near the 800m.
BETTY'S BOY – Apprentice E. Pozman was harmlessly dislodged behind the barriers and was cleared to fulfill her ride. Over raced in the early stages. Raced greenly when placed under pressure in the home straight.
SHAQUE D'AMOUR – Over raced in the early stages.
Race 3 - DOUBLE R GROUP CLASS 5 HANDICAP 1200 M
STREAK OF WINNING – Laid in rounding the home turn.
CRACKENTHORPE (NZ) – Slow to begin.
Race 4 - BRD GROUP BM65 HANDICAP 1000 M
OOHLALOUVRE – Raced wide. Shifted out near the 800m when over racing.
SWEET HESITATION – Slow to begin.
MOAKSUN – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and until a point approaching the 200m.
PEWTER PEARL – Slow to begin. Held up rounding the home turn and until a point approaching the 200m.
CITY CHICK – Underwent a resaddle behind the barriers. Raced in restricted room near the 800m between OOHLALOUVRE which shifted out when over racing and ZINGALONG. Raced wide.
ZINGALONG – Raced wide. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled bilaterally for the first occasion. Trainer T. Miller was advised that ZINGALONG would be required to complete the requirements pursuant to AR79(4).
Race 5 - INNOVATIVE PLANNING SOLUTIONS 0 - 60 HANDICAP 1400 M
YABBY PUMP – Began awkwardly and bumped POUTCHEK (GB). Tired over the final 300m. When asked to comment on the performance of YABBY PUMP, jockey G. Cartwright stated that the gelding over raced and proved difficult to settle, which had a detrimental effect on its finishing effort. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities. Trainer B. Healey was advised that YABBY PUMP would be required to trial to the satisfaction of stewards prior to accepting for a future race.
CAISHEN – Laid in near the 200m.
CONEY ISLAND BABY – Raced wide.
ECHO HUNTER – Underwent a pre-race veterinary examination due to having raced at the Sunshine Coast on the 20th September 2026 and was cleared to start.
HOMERIC – Over raced passing the 800m.
POUTCHEK (GB) – Bumped with YABBY PUMP on jumping.
RED SAMOVAR - Held up from rounding the home turn until near the 250m.
CRACKER ESSGEE – Raced wide.
Race 6 - BENNETT + BENNETT CLASS 1 HANDICAP 1800 M
EVADE THE GAME – Over raced early. Jockey J. Bayliss was cautioned regarding his obligations pursuant to AR132(7)(a)(i) in relation to using his whip in consecutive strides.
LORD DANILO – Over raced early. Held up for clear running in the home straight until near the 100m.
Race 7 - BELLAGROVE ESTATE QTIS THREE-YEARS-OLD MAIDEN PLATE 1000 M
ANDRILLE – Began awkwardly. Over raced early. Checked from heels when racing keenly passing the 800m. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have poor post-race recovery.
BOOTS - Began awkwardly and shifted out.
DARK RIVER – Raced wide. Near the 900m, restrained from the heels of BOLD NOMAD when that runner shifted in abruptly, became unbalanced and shifted out making heavy contact with IT’SALL ABOUT MARY and lost ground. Jockey R. Maloney, rider of BOLD NOMAD was charged with careless riding and pled guilty pursuant to AR131(a) in that near the 900m when shifting in from a wide barrier on an acute angle, was insufficiently clear of DARK RIVER obliging that runner to be taken in, apprentice Kendal restraining to avoid heels, lose its rightful running then shift wider on the course and make heavy contact with IT’SALL ABOUT MARY. Jockey R. Maloney’s license to ride in races was suspended for 11 days, to commence m/n 3rd October 2026 and to conclude m/n 14th October 2026, he was informed of his right of appeal.

IT'SALL ABOUT MARY – Near the 900m, severely checked and lost ground when DARK RIVER restrained from heels and shifted out abruptly, making heavy contact.
