GENERAL
Apprentice B Baker was unable to attend today’s meeting due to personal reasons and W O’Connell was unavailable due to an injury, replacements were made as per the Raceday Summary.
The following runner was scratched by order of Stewards as no suitable riders were available;
Race 2: FORTUNATE DRAGON
Stewards permitted the following overweight:

RACE 1: MJ CLEANERS / MCEVOY FAMILY RATINGS BAND 0 - 50 Handicap 1200m
STEP ON FIRE – Buffeted between runners shortly after the start.
 
KOGA NINJA - Crowded at the start and had to be steadied. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
ZELEZNY – Shifted out on jumping severing hampering runners to its outside and was slow into stride. Trainer B Gorman was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding for its racing manners.
 
PRESS YES - Buffeted between runners shortly after the start.
 
PARTY PROPHET - Crowded at the start and lost ground. Laid in under pressure in the home straight. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DELORIS – Bumped and taken wider shortly after the start and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.
 
DOUBLESHARKATTACK – Bumped and taken wider shortly after the start and was slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
 

RACE 2: BRUCE EINAM MEMORIAL QTIS Maiden Plate 1200m
IN AND AWAY – Bumped on jumping.
 
CHEEKY CRAB – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
 
JEZABEL JAZZ - Bumped on jumping and lost ground. Raced wide for the majority.
 
RUPEEZY – Stewards permitted jockey N Fazackerley an overweight of .50kg. Slow to begin. Raced wide throughout.
 
STYLISH ANGEL – Over-raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
OKANUI – Slow to begin.
 
 
MISHANI GRANGE - Bumped on jumping. App J Metcalfe reported her mount did not appreciate today’s track surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
SARDINIA - Bumped on jumping. Raced wide for the majority.
 
RAZOR’S MAGIC – Began awkwardly. Raced wide for the majority.
 
RACE 3: QUEENSLAND COUNTRY BANK COUNTRY STAMPEDE QUALIFIER OPEN Handicap 1000m
SKYFORGER – Slow to begin. Shifted wide near the 800m to avoid kickback. Jockey N Fazackerley reported his mount is better suited over further distances. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
REJOICED – Blundered on jumping. Leaving the 800m,  was awkwardly placed on heels when racing ungenerously.
 
ELECTED – Over-raced in the early stages. Laid in under pressure over the concluding stages.

RACE 4: STANTHORPE MITRE 10 STANTHORPE CUP BENCHMARK 60 Handicap 1400m
SOUTH SEA – Slow into stride.
 
BORN FEARLESS – Jockey N Fazackerley reported his mount did not appreciate today’s track surface. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 
CHANGE THE DEEL – Slow to begin.
 
FOO FIGHTER – Raced wide for the majority.
 
RACE 5: ENSBEY ELECTRICAL BENCHMARK 50 Handicap 1000m
HIT THE BUTTON – Raced wide for the majority.
 
LITTLE SHOW – Slow into stride. Raced wide for the majority.
 
SCARLETT THUNDER – Leaving the 800m was eased and taken wider when I’M A CHOCOHOLIC shifted out. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 
I’M A CHOCOHOLIC – Leaving the 800m when over-racing became awkwardly placed on the heels of GOOSE STEP (P Hamblin) which shifted in, subsequently I’M A CHOCOHOLIC was obliged to shift out taking SCARLETT THUNDER wider. Jockey P Hamblin was reprimanded under AR131(a) for this incident.
Trainer S Sixtus was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for being difficult to load.
 
ACCEPT POWER – Was declared a late scratching on vets’ advice at 3:22pm after an incident in the tie up bays. As on course betting had not commenced no deductions were applicable.
 
EASY COME - Declared a late scratching at 4:10pm after breaking through the barriers and travelling an excessive distance before being recaptured.  Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Stewards ordered that all bets placed on EASY COME be refunded with the following deductions to apply:
 
12c in the dollar for the win
14c in the dollar for the place of winner
14c in the dollar for 2nd place
 
Trainer G Barbierato was advised that the gelding would be required to obtain a further barrier certificate prior to racing again.
