GENERAL
App T Wheeler was unable to ride at today’s meeting due to an injury.  Changes made as per the Stewards Summary Report.
Stewards permitted the following overweight:
Race 3: J Baker +.50kg
Race 1:ST GEORGE MACHINERY / AGNVET / HAYES SPRAYING MAIDEN PLATE 1000m
DESTINY GUNGHO – As the gelding had not started for an extended period it underwent a pre-race veterinary examination and was cleared to start. Bumped passing the 300m.
MISS BEES WINGS – Jockey D Evans reported the mare didn’t feel comfortable throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Trainer G Postle was advised a warning would be placed on the mare for a poor performance.
PRINCESS MONEYBAGS – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.
VIKING TREASURE – Slow into stride. Passing the 300m shifted out bumping DESTINY GUNGHO. Laid out over the concluding stages.
Race 2:AGROCORP / NUTRIEN AG / HOMESTEAD AGRIBUSINESS BENCHMARK 55 HCAP 1000m
CASH LANDING – Slow into stride.
BEST SIDE – Was momentarily eased shortly after the start when App P Fergusson-Smith felt something may have been amiss with the gelding however after a few strides felt her mount was fit to continue racing. Hung out under pressure in the home straight. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
JOEY JAWS (NZ) – Began awkwardly. Raced wide throughout.
SCARLETT THUNDER - Raced wide throughout.
HERE'S TO POWER – Jockey J Baker reported his mount didn’t handle the track conditions. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
 Race 3:RSL SURAT SUB BRANCH/SURAT NEW ROYAL HOTEL/RURAL INSURANCE SERVICE OPEN HCAP 1200m
VILLADEN (NZ) – Momentarily held up rounding the home turn. Laid out under pressure from the 200m to 100m.
KAT CHINNA – As jockey J Baker was to be overweight, he was replaced by Jockey A. Sewell. Jockey J Baker was fined $100 pursuant to AR190(3) for accepting a ride when overweight.
 
Race 4:DAPCO FARMING / MOONGOOL CHAROLAIS / FORMOSA FARMING / FRITH FARMING QTIS BENCHMARK 50 HCAP 1200m
BEE TWO – Approaching the 200m bumped with MISS BITTERSWEET when laying out under pressure. App P Fergusson-Smith was advised to stop and straighten her mount under similar circumstances.
RUMI STAR – Slow to begin.
SIR OCCY – Began awkwardly and was slow into stride. Jockey J Baker pleaded guilty to a charge under the provisions of AR132(7)(a)(ii) for using his whip 13 times prior to the 100m and 17 times in totality. J Baker’s license to ride in races was suspended for a period of 11 days to commence 21st September up to and including 1st October 2025. Jockey Baker was advised of his right to an appeal.
SMIKO – Raced wide throughout.
MISS BIITTERSWEET – Bumped approaching the 200m.
 Race 5:OGT AND SURAT DIGGERS RACE CLUB SURAT DIGGERS' CUP BENCHMARK 65 HCAP 1400m
 KIPTANUI – Raced wide throughout. Laid in under pressure in the home straight.
 OAKFIELD TARGET – Laid out under pressure from the 200m to 100m.
LEGISLATE – Slow to begin. When questioned, jockey J Baker stated the gelding didn’t let down throughout. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off foreleg. Trainer W Baker was advised a veterinary clearance would be required prior to racing again. Trainer W Baker was fined the sum of $100 pursuant to AR106(1) for having the gelding presented to the mounting yard without a tongue-tie.
RICHUNCLEMONEYBAGS – Began awkwardly then raced keenly in the back straight.
