GENERAL

The following overweights were permitted by Stewards Race 2- Jockey W O’Connell +1.0kg, Race 3- Jockey/s W O’Connell and Y Lewis +1.0kg.
Due to the incident in Race 4, the start of Race 5 was amended to 4.35pm.

RACE 1: B AND W BAND RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1400M

HERE I COME- Began to weaken from the 600m and failed to improve further into the race despite the riders’ best efforts. Jockey S Sweedman advised began to lose ground from the 600m and that the horse wasn’t suited by the racing conditions today. Post race veterinary examination was ordered with no significant findings being detected.

AUREATE- Raced wide for the majority.

HEADLINE LEGEND- Raced wide for the majority of the event.

WHITTAKER- Raced wide for the majority.

I AM PIETRA- Laid in for a short distance from the 800m while racing wide and then again in the home straight.

ROWDASH- Slow to begin, raced towards the rear of the field for the early stages before improving with hard riding from the 1200m point while racing wide..

RACE 2:TOP X GOONDIWINDI BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200m

GANDALF- Bumped with THE ROOKIE shortly after the start. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

THE ROOKIE- Began awkwardly jumped out and made contact with GANDALF pushing that runner out.

CEEKAY’S CHOICE- Began awkwardly and then was buffeted between runners when KARIATION shifted in and GANDALF was shifting out when bumped with THE ROOKIE.

EXCLUSIVE DROP- The mare was declared a late scratched by order of Stewards acting on Starters advice at 2.03pm due to refusing to load. All monies invested on EXCLUSIVE DROP were ordered to be refunded in full less the following deductions- CEEKAY’S CHOICE- W- 3c, Pl- 4c, THE ROOKIE- 2nd pl- 4c and KARIACTION- 3rd pl- NTD. As a result of the incident Stewards ordered that EXCLUSIVE DROP is to trail or jump out to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again. Trainer S McEwan was advised under the provision of AR 75(1).

RACE 3: IRRITEK TALLWOOD CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400M

PESHWA- Slow to begin. Raced mid field for the majority, Jockey S Sweedman advised stewards that the track conditions and the allocated weight may have had some bearing on his mount’s performance today. However, he was happy how PESHWA had finished off his race today.

MINIMAL- Post race veterinary examination was ordered with no significant findings being detected. Jockey W O’Connell advised that the horse failed to handle the racing conditions and the kickback today. Stewards noted his comments.

BALLINDERRY- Raced towards the rear of the field for the majority and failed to improve into the race despite the best efforts of the rider. Post Race vet examination was ordered with no significant findings being detected.

PROPHET OF BOOM- Became unruly when parading with Stewards ordering the horse to officially trial due to its pre-race manners. When approaching the pull up area post-race Apprentice Jockey R O’Connell was harmlessly dislodged. On returning to scale R O’Connell advised stewards his mount when pulled up had propped and dropping his head catching him unaware. Apprentice O’Connell advised he had suffered no injuries as a result of the incident. Co- Trainer Mr C Geran advised that he would recommend to connections that the mare be retired. Stewards noted Mr. Geran’s comments. Stewards, acting under the provision of LR67 issued a $100 monetary penalty to Trainer C and K Geran for the late notification of a rider.

RACE 4: SOLTERRA BENCHMARK 50 HANDICAP 1000M

BELLISTIC MAN- - Leaving the 200m shifted out marginally when under pressure.

PEE DEE- Bumped with HARE STREET shortly after the start was affected. Approaching the 150m point put in an awkward stride when easing off the heels of BELISTIC MAN which shifted out marginally. The gelding went amiss inside the 100m and was pulled up passing the winning post by the rider (R O’Connell) after the gelding suffered a catastrophic injury to its offside foreleg resulting in the gelding having to be euthanized on human grounds. Samples were taken by the attending Veterinarian for analysis. Stewards will inquire into the incident in coming days.

SUPER EXCEPTIONAL- Blundered as the start was affected losing ground.

ROTHERO ESSGEE- Jockey K Yoshida was reminded of his obligation to report any gear he intends to ride with to the Clerk of the Scales on weighing out. Blundered shortly after the start was affected.

HARE STREET- Bumped with another runner after beginning.

RACE 5: GOONDIWINDI AND DISTRICT VETS QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1400M

OLE ALI- Bumped with LUSTFULL BELLE at the start.

AMAZARA- Raced wide for the majority.

COOL THOUGHTS- Slow to begin and then drifted back early when unable to go the early speed. Began to race keenly from the 1300m point. On returning to scale Jockey W O’Connell advised that approaching the 1200m turn his mount was racing fiercely and proved difficult to restrain. He further added that he was placed at a significant disadvantage due to the dust and kickback, finding it difficult to see. Stewards noted his comments. Raced towards the rear of the field for the majority of the event.

LUSTFUL BELLE- Bumped with another runner at the start, then raced wide for the majority of the event.

DIAMOND IMPACT- On returning to scale Jockey S Sweedman advised that his mount raced keenly and ran off at the 1200m corner proving difficult to restrain adding when leaving the 1100m he blundered and lost ground. Stewards noted his comments.
