RACE 1: JEFF HANNAFORD PTY LTD QTIS MAIDEN PLATE – 1000m
JEN FROM MYERS – Began awkwardly, shifted further in shortly after the start.
CHOCOLATE OREO – Began awkwardly. Over raced approaching the 900m. Upon returning to scale Apprentice B. Mackie reported that shortly after the start her saddle slipped and as a result was she was unable to place her mount in a competitive position throughout the event and therefore settled in five wide position throughout. Stewards noted Apprentices Mackie’s explanation. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding lame in the off hind leg. Trainer D. Baker advised that the gelding would be spelled following todays event and was advised by stewards that the runner would require a further veterinary certificate prior to returning to race.
LUCKY DEALING – Shifted in shortly after the start.
RACE 2: RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS/RPQ PTY LTD BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP – 1000m
ORLEANS – Slow to begin.
SCRIVANO – Shifted out shortly after the start making contact with another runner to the outside.
MRS QUIGLEY – Tightened for room by runners either side shortly after the start.
NOOR DROPPER – Tightened for room shortly after the start by a runner to the outside. Upon returning to scale, Apprentice B. Mackie reported that her mount was inclined to hang in throughout the event.
EXCEEDINGLY KOOL – Began awkwardly making heavy contact with runners to the inside.
RACE 3: BRANDON & ASSOCIATES/TARA RURAL SUPPLIES CLASS B HANDICAP – 1200m
PABULUM – Began awkwardly after the outside barrier petition made contact with the runner, subsequently affecting its start.
ANGEL’S LOVE – Began awkwardly making contact with a runner to the outside.
RED BLANKET – Placed in restricted room and lost ground shortly after the start.
WITHOIUT DISSENT – Hampered by runner to the inside shortly after the start.
WITHOUT DISSENT – Began awkwardly jumping with its head in the air.
MUDCRAB – Tightened for room between runners shortly after the start.
MISSY ATTITIUDE – Raced greenly passing the 1000m and subsequently lost ground. Apprentice Mackie was reprimanded under AR.144 for failing to way in after placing fifth.
RACE 4: WESTERN DOWNS REG. COUNCIL/KEN DOWLING CC QUAL/TARA CUP OPEN HCAP – 1400m
Prior to the declaration of correct weight, Apprentice M. Shimodaira applied to have his mount (MOHAKA RIVER) declared a non-runner and as he believed, the horse’s barrier gates failed to open. After viewing the video footage, Stewards agreed with Apprentice M. Shimodaira’s assessment and declared the horse a non-runner under AR134A. Subsequent to the event, all monies invested on the horse were ordered to be refunded with the following deductions applicable.

10 cents in the dollar on the face value of 3rd place bets
BAKER BOY – Began awkwardly.
RACE 5: COMMERCIAL HOTEL/HENCOL CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 55 HANDICAP – 1400m
SILENT FLYER – Began awkwardly and lost ground.
STRIDE OF PRIDE – Apprentice M. Shimodaira was reprimanded under AR.144 when he failed to weigh in after placing fifth.
