GENERAL
Appr Jky K Lenton was not riding at today’s meeting due to being indisposed. Jky J Baker was unable to ride at today’s meeting due to mechanical issues. Rider replacements as per the Stewards Summary. Due to DOONA is Race 5 having raced at Dalby Jockey Race Club meeting on the 2/10/2025, a pre- race veterinary inspection was undertaken and permitted to start at today’s meeting.
Race 1: NORFORD RURAL SERVICES/ AD GROVES CONTRACTING QTIS MAIDEN PLATE 1050M
WINNING DEAL- Tended to lay in, in the home straight. After adopting a leading position early, it began to weakened from the 200m. Stewards noted that the horse hadn’t raced in excess of two years. It has gone through the correct processes satisfactorily to be reinstated. Stewards will speak with Trainer Mr S Noll in coming days to ascertain the horse’s post-race day condition and the racing future of the gelding.
BELTONE- Difficult to load, Bumped with SARDINIA shortly after the start. slow to begin, gathered the field in quickly by the 700m point. Tended to resent the use of the whip by the rider, Jky L Tilley proceeded to use hands and heels from the 500m point.
RUPEEZY- Raced towards the rear of the field for some distance before improving into the race when called upon by the rider at approximately the 500m point.
SARDINIA- Bumped with another runner shortly after the start. Rolled in at the home turn dictating OKANUI out. Laid in during the middle stages of the eventy.
OKANUI- Over raced during the early stages and when approaching the 900m the rider was forced to ease off heels. Laid in, in the home straight.
VALOURHEE- Raced wide for the majority.
Race 2: TARA RURAL SUPPLIES/MEANDARRA TRANSPORT CLASS B HANDICAP 1050M
AYE EYE BOOM- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
RUSSMUSS- Slow into stride, weakened from the home turn. Stewards ordered a post-race vet examination to be undertaken due to the performance of the horse. This examination failed to locate any abnormalities. Stewards noted that the horse had not had a race start for 23 months and had been reinstated after retirement, stewards further noted that it had met the necessary processes required by Stewards on returning to racing.
FRIDAY’S JET- Began awkwardly and then slowly into stride then raced wide for the majority of the event.
SPRING BIRD- Stewards acting under the provision of AR78 (1) advised Trainer Mr G Postle that the horse would be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards due to its poor pre- race manners which included parading the mare.
JAMAICAN- Raced at the rear of the field while travelling wide for the majority.
Race 3: THE TARA HOTEL/HENCOL CONSTRUCTIONS BENCHMARK 60 HANDICAP 1200M
HELIKEDEMPRETTY- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
CASH LANDING- Slow to begin.
ROWDASH- Slow to begin, raced at the rear of the field for the majority. Raced wide over the final stages of the event. Stewards spoke with Jky H Richardson who advised the horse wasn’t suited by the hard racing surface today, despite her best efforts to obtain a more forward position. A post-race vet examination was ordered by Stewards this examination revealed that although the horse was not lame, it was reluctant to stretch out normally when being trotted up. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr M Kropp who gave an undertaking to notify Stewards should the condition of the mare deteriorate in coming days.
HOT GLORY- Slow to begin. Raced wide and at the rear of the field for the majority. Stewards were advised the horse lost both rear plates in transit.
BIRAGUE- Began awkwardly by jumping out as the start was affected. Raced wide and at the rear of the field for the majority of the event. On returning to scale Appr Jky B Harrison advised Stewards that she dropped her whip at the home turn preventing her from testing her mount out fully to the line.
Race 4: WESTERN DOWNS REGIONAL COUNCIL KEN DOWLING MEMORIAL CCC QUAL/TARA CUP OPEN HANDICAP 1400M
ELLA TE AMA- Laid in, in the home straight.
TIJUANA TWO STEP- Began awkwardly, then hesitated briefly as a result raced at the rear for some distance before improving into the race from the 400m point. Ran on well over the final stages while racing wide.
PROOINGA- Raced wide for the majority.
Race 5: BRANDON AND ASSOCIATES RATINGS BAND 0-55 HANDICAP 1400M
MANIC LIGHT- Bumped with DANE ICHI shortly after the start was affected, then became unbalanced shortly after.
DANE ICHI- Bumped with another runner at the start and began to weaken from the 500m racing at the rear of the field for the remainder of the event.
MISS BITTERSWEET- Raced wide for the majority of the event.
JENNI INDA JUNGLE-Slow to begin. Raced towards the rear of the field for some distance before improving into the race from the home turn. Ran on strongly over the final stages.
DOONA- Due to the mare racing at Dalby Jockey Club race meeting on the 2nd of October 20025, Stewards ordered a pre-race veterinary examination be undertaken, as a result of this examination the horse was passed fit to race at today’s meeting. Stewards spoke with Trainer Mr M Kropp regarding the horse backing up. He advised the mare had a comfortable run at Dalby and had pulled up very well after the race. Ran in a forward position early before weakening from the home turn.
